Official: MIBR sign nicks

The team will debut at FISSURE Playground 1 with their replacement for Lucaozy.

MIBR have announced the signing of Nicollas "⁠nicks⁠" Polonio from Fluxo, confirming a previous report from Dust2 Brasil.

The 20-year-old rifler will take the place of Lucas "⁠Lucaozy⁠" Neves, who benched himself shortly after the BLAST.tv Austin Major and departed for Fluxo on Thursday.

nicks has been sidelined since Fluxo benched him in March to make room for Matheus "⁠mlhzin⁠" Marçola, and will make his debut for MIBR at FISSURE Playground 1.

He is no stranger to the organization, having played for their academy lineup from January 2023 to March 2024, but will now have the chance to prove his worth on the main roster.

nicks averaged a 1.03 rating over 226 maps with Fluxo, playing the lurker and mixed anchor roles that MIBR are in sore need of after not managing to iron out issues with role overlaps between Lucaozy and Felipe "⁠insani⁠" Yuji.

The Brazilian team showed an uptick in form ahead of the tournament break, reaching playoffs at PGL Astana and falling just short of Stage 3 at the Austin Major despite eliminating Falcons, and will hope to continue that trend in Belgrade when they take Astralis in their opener.
