SAW's return to an all-Portuguese roster has begun with a bang, with veteran MUTiRiS leading the way.
SAW have kicked off their campaign at FISSURE Playground 1 with a surprise victory over FURIA, a near-100 ADR series by veteran Christopher "MUTiRiS" Fernandes helping guide the Portuguese side to wins on Anubis (13-9) and Dust2 (13-8).
A strong CT side on Anubis secured SAW a 1-0 lead in the series, before a sterling performance by MUTiRiS on Dust2 ensured smooth sailing to a 2-0 victory.
"What I asked from the team was to just have fun and enjoy this tournament," MUTiRiS said in a post-game interview with Anastasija "Heccu" Tolmačeva. "We just came here without pressure. Maybe FURIA was not so sharp today and we were playing good, it's not magic, we just played good CS."
SAW will continue their run at FISSURE Playground 1 against GamerLegion, whilst FURIA will fight for their tournament lives versus Wildcard.

SAW hit the ground running
SAW opted for an international experiment at the start of the year, and after starting brightly at ESL Pro League, they waned badly as the season wore on.
"It was more the organization, because they felt that we were not progressing the way they wanted," MUTiRiS said of the decision to switch back to an all-Portuguese roster.
The move back to a national team has started well, with new signing Adones "krazy" Nobre impressing in particular with his high impact on Dust2.
MUTiRiS is, however, not getting ahead of himself. "I don't want to be really happy because it already happened in the past, that we had a good game or tournament and then after that, things just went away. So I want to just enjoy this win a little bit, and then focus on tomorrow."
