CYPHER is fnatic's new fifth player

fnatic have announced that they have completed the signing of Cai "⁠CYPHER⁠" Watson from BC.Game to get their roster back to five players.

CYPHER will fill the vacancy created by Matúš "⁠MATYS⁠" Šimko's transfer to G2 during the off-season. Earlier this month, fnatic played in the Europe Closed Qualifier for ESL Pro League 22 with Eduard "⁠zeRRoFIX⁠" Petrovskyi as a stand-in, finishing in 7th-8th place following defeats to Sashi and Passion UA.

The British player, who was notably part of the Into the Breach roster that reached the playoffs of the Paris Major, will have big shoes to fill as MATYS had developed into a reliable performer for fnatic, averaging a 1.14 rating in his last season with the team.

Currently ranked 29th in the global VRS, fnatic will debut their new roster on Friday in RES Showdown 2, an eight-team single-elimination bracket that will act as the Europe closed qualifier for BLAST Open London.
