FURIA will face MOUZ for the first time since going international.

IEM Cologne has reached its bracket stage with six teams headed to the LANXESS Arena for the playoffs, including all four of the best teams in the world.

Vitality extended their series winstreak to an immense 37 in a row to complete a flawless group stage and lock in a direct berth to the semi-finals, while Spirit secured a bye on the other side of the bracket in their debut with Ivan "⁠zweih⁠" Gogin by beating MOUZ for the first time in four matchups this year.

Spirit battle past MOUZ into Cologne semi-final

Natus Vincere head to the arena fresh off a dominant victory over FaZe and will play their first stage match with Drin "⁠makazze⁠" Shaqiri against The MongolZ in the quarter-finals, with the winner going on to face Spirit.

Gabriel "⁠FalleN⁠" Toledo will make his return to the LANXESS Arena for the first time in eight years, when he won IEM Cologne 2017, with FURIA set to face MOUZ in the other quarter-final.

It will be the first time the teams have faced off since ESL Pro League Season 21 in March and since FURIA went international with Mareks "⁠YEKINDAR⁠" Gaļinskis and Danil "⁠molodoy⁠" Golubenko, and puts MOUZ in the path of Vitality for a spot in the best-of-five final.

Not quite always. In Copenhagen, when they won their last Major, Na'VI and Spirit were on separate halves of the playoff draw. And Spirit was eliminated by Faze, which in turn lost to Na'Vi in the final. That is an example that comes to mind, I am pretty sure there were others.

Yeah, that's what I'm referring to. If donk gets the Cologne MVP, it's then a prestige MVP that he is to rival one of ZywOo's, then the next one would need to be the Major for any narrative for donk to be in the Top 1 race. Without the Cologne MVP, the narrative is essentially dead.
