MOUZ make Cologne semi over FURIA after late resurgence
Brollan's troops are set to face Vitality for the eighth time this season.

MOUZ have defeated FURIA in the IEM Cologne quarter-final with a 2-1 scoreline (Train 19-16, Mirage 10-13, Inferno 13-11) to earn themselves a chance to stop Vitality's tournament streak on Saturday.
The series began on Train, where FURIA opened proceedings with a B-centric T-side. The start wasn't ideal but their slow playstyle eventually found gaps in the MOUZ offense as Danil "molodoy" Golubenko warmed up his AWP, allowing his team to go into the half just two rounds behind.
More methodical play followed in the second half as MOUZ's pistol-round victory gave them a 10-5 lead, but Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin's couldn't get the job done in regulation after FURIA's valiant comeback. It was in OT that MOUZ finally started prevailing in gun rounds, however, and closed out a 19-16 victory thanks to a 3-0 sweep on the CT side.
MOUZ remained flawless in pistol rounds to start Mirage on the right foot, and got four in a row before FURIA got their double-AWP setup firing. That allowed them to get back into the game and once again go into the second half 5-7 down, but a pistol victory was of paramount importance to their chances of victory.
That was exactly what they did, which allowed them to take a 10-7 lead before MOUZ could answer with a well-timed B gamble in a 3vs5.
The back and forth continued all until the deciding moment from Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis, who clutched out a 1vs2 by stopping Ádám "torzsi" Torzsás's smoke defuse in the last second, which helped FURIA equal the scoreline with a 13-10 victory.
It looked like FURIA were about to get off to another slow start as MOUZ claimed their fourth pistol of the series, but molodoy turned the tide with a Galil 1vs2 in the second round. Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's troops then lost momentum after losing a round to unarmored pistols, but did enough to stay in the game after the first half.
FURIA then won the pistol, dropped molodoy an AWP in the second round, and ran away to an 11-7 lead. MOUZ didn't down their tools, however, and won six in a row off the back off Dorian "xertioN" Berman's and Lotan "Spinx" Giladi's impact in the final moments.
Eight time the charm for MOUZ?
MOUZ have faced Vitality seven times this year and lost all seven matches, winning just four out of 21 maps, which paints a bleak picture for Brollan's troops.
But against FURIA, the team showed mental resilience we haven't always seen from the squad, and they now have a game in the LANXESS under their belt with Vitality coming in cold.

Spinx and torzsi had a great performance throughout and the team's X-factor xertioN showed up when it mattered most, MOUZ might just be poised to stop Vitality's reign of terror.
