Brollan: "Tonight we celebrate and tomorrow we go again"

The MOUZ in-game leader spoke to HLTV about finally breaking the losing streak against Vitality, and not getting ahead of themselves going into the Spirit grand final.

MOUZ finally broke their Vitality curse at the eighth time of asking, ending Dan "⁠apEX⁠" Madesclaire's team streak at seven tournament victories in a row in a convincing semi-final affair at IEM Cologne.

Speaking to HLTV following the massive scalp, Ludvig "⁠Brollan⁠" Brolin was all smiles as he struggled to find the words about finally breaking the curse against their nemesis of the first season of 2025.

"It's just an unbelievable feeling," he said. "Last season we lost every time, and it's just... we finally beat them."

The achievement is cause for celebration for the MOUZ camp in itself, but they know the job is not done. "Of course it's just winning a semi-final, but we need to focus on tomorrow to win the trophy as well," the Swede quickly went on.

"Spirit was a really tough opponent, so it's not an instant win, of course. We played them really often and we know we can versus them. Tonight we celebrate and tomorrow we go again."

Congratulations, Brollan. The eighth time of asking for MOUZ to finally beat Vitality. What does this mean to you guys?

So much. It's just an unbelievable feeling, it's just hard to... Last season we lost every time, as you said, and it's just... we finally beat them. Of course it's just winning a semi-final, but we need to focus on tomorrow to win the trophy as well.

The beginning of Mirage made it look like it was gonna be one of those Vitality games where even the close situations don't really go your way. How did you recover from that to be able to win Mirage?

Sometimes we have some slow starts, especially on Mirage where we didn't feel it a bit. Of course ropz had an insane round on that one forcebuy they had, and they won the pistol...

We know our CT side is really, really good - maybe yesterday we did not show up on the CT side against FURIA on Mirage especially, but xertioN and torzsi really stepped up today, and that made us win the map. It was really important.

Train turned out convincing. Were you ready for that pick, and what did you to be able to take home such a convincing victory?

We knew that they were probably gonna pick it, of course. We know our CT side is really good, we were a little bit surprised they picked it because it's a really CT-heavy map, it's really hard to start T side on this map.

We just got seven rounds and that was probably enough. I think it was just really important that we won the forcebuy on T side after we lost the pistol. It's just nice that we can turn it around, because it feels like they're always gonna win the clutches, but we finally won the important clutches, and it made it really easy to win the map.

We saw probably one of ZywOo's career-worst matches. Do you see that as a lucky break, or did you do anything in particular to try to shut him down?

No, not really. I didn't feel it. Of course they're struggling when they're not showing up. I think it's , but I didn't really notice it, no.

How do you make sure that you don't get ahead of yourselves after taking such a massive scalp everybody's been waiting for for an entire season heading into a Spirit matchup that you've already played this really difficult match against already in the group stage?

Of course we're gonna celebrate tonight, but tomorrow we're gonna go as we usually do. I'm really happy at the moment, we just need to reset for the final tomorrow.
