Sources: YaLLa Esports start bankruptcy procedures

The TO posted that "the YaLLa Compass journey has come to an end."

YaLLa Esports made a cryptic post on on X stating that "the YaLLa Compass journey has come to an end," giving no more information.

Sources have told HLTV that the company has filed for bankruptcy, and at least one player has publicly stated that they should "end the journey after paying the money you owe".

YaLLa Esports hosted one LAN previously, YaLLa Compass 2024, in Abu Dhabi, which The MongolZ won. In April 2025, YaLLa Compass Qatar had to be moved online due to clashes with the BLAST.tv Austin Major's MRQ, and its prize pool was reduced from $600,000 to $300,000.

This latest announcement comes with no mention of YaLLa Compass UAE, which was slated to take place where the company's headquarters are, in Dubai, UAE, on November 19-23.

HLTV's Luís Mira is working on the story as it develops, and can be contacted by anyone affected by the company's sudden shutdown.

I'm asian australian, the fact that i'm australian doesn't make me hate aboriginals nor treat them wrong. As far as i'm concerned, every aboriginal who moves into the city is basically rich by default, they don't work, they don't study, they just get a fat paycheck from gov for being the original land owners, and i respect it. Contrary to say the US, where they either own casinos or live far away from the entire population.

while my Australian-Palestinian brother is correct, there still exists systematic racism and exclusion against aboriginals in Australia. --While Aboriginals have been wiped out and now make up less than 4% of the population, they represent the largest group in Australian prisons. Yes, 2 centuries of violence, abuse, and discrimination will have a profound impact on a people. --there have been some improvements, but to say aboriginals are "rich", collecting big fat paycheck is perhaps oversimplifying it.

Exactly, pretty selfish to want this TO to remain when they don't pay the people we enjoy watching. This only works if everyone gets what is promised to them. If not, they are actively working against the growth of the scene. So, in regards to the reputation of the scene, it's actually a good thing in the long run

Well oil revenues are a significant portion of UAE's economy yes. They are limited to tourism, sports, and are harnessing their natural resources for development. The modern world relies on oil to survive, and demand keeps growing. Why are only us Europeans and Americans pointing our freckled fingers at other countries trying to tell them how to align their economic and social policies with what WE believe in?

End of story because YOU said so? haha Your sentence: "Australia is a net importer of oil and you're comparing us to the UAE who's economy is 85% oil based." is missing the point, because: oil remains of crucial importance to Australia, your economy, and your lifestyle, just like UAE. Both UAE and Australia rely heavily on oil imports and exports to sustain themselves. I've nothing else to add.

If sports-washing even exists, let us expose every country to scrutiny. I say IF!! it exists, because it is a socio-political construct. I have spent a lot of time travelling the world, yet it is mainly the Europeans who talk about so-called sport washing, nobody else. Japan, Singapore, and South Korea do not. Earlier this year, it was estimated that there are 136,000 modern slaves in Britain, with 41% of them being children. At around the same time, the English Premier League is currently the most positive representation of the country across the world. This is especially interesting, as the British government routinely utilises the Premier League in various campaigns abroad. Sometimes the Premier League is used as part of trade missions. At other times it is used to exert soft power influence, a tool of statecraft from which the British government does extremely well So, should Britain be labelled as a sport-washer? And who decides this, and on what basis? Whatever the answers to these questions, I can already imagine many Brits being rather perturbed by the comparison of their nation with countries they are used to condemning. If you are serious about this topic and willing to educate yourself more about, I have helped write about it: 1- thehill.com/opinion/international/585890.. 2- profchadwick.substack.com/p/whos-sport-w.. 3- policyforum.net/sport-washing-soft-power..

What do you mean? Slavery is also a crime in UAE, not just Britain. Modern slavery is a systematic breaking of human rights, which the British Gov't is doing very little about, since the problem is getting worse. antislavery.org/slavery-today/slavery-uk.. Instead, the British government routinely utilises the Premier League in various campaigns abroad to exert soft power influence and make Great Britain look good.

I mean that you're trying to equate a crime in Britain to something that the UAE govt. facilitates. It seems like a dishonest thing to do in order to dilute the term 'sportswashing'. >the British Gov't is doing very little about [modern slavery], since the problem is getting worse This is also a very dishonest way of framing it - just because a problem is getting worse it doesn't mean it's being facilitated by the British government, like it is being facilitated by the UAE government. In fact, you provided statistics about modern slavery in Britain, which perhaps come from the British institutions trying to track and analyze the problem? In UAE all data seems to come from human rights group and NGOs - surely that's a point of concern for you, since you care about modern slavery?

1- saying that UAE is facilitating human rights violations is disingenuous as they are continuously engaging in labor law reforms u.ae/en/information-and-services/jobs/em.. 2- Well we have to be careful how we frame Sports-washing and clearly define it as well. If we wag our fingers at China with Olympics 2022, Qatar world Cup 2022, we have to see who is doing the finger wagging and why it is primarily from Western Europe countries. Is the United States Air Force and Army sponsoring of NFL Games and the NFL expanding around the world a show of soft power, deflecting from deflect from domestic police racism/brutality issues, poverty ? 3- Since Britian itself currently has 136,000 modern slaves, are we not exhibiting as western europeans a double standard with a selective moralism? pointing fingers at others for employing sports investment tactics that we ourselves have long embraced and still practice?

1. It's not disingenuous to accuse the UAE of facilitating human rights violations. There are a ton of examples all around, the kafala system is still in place. Linking a UAE govt. website to support your point is kind of hilarious though, I'll give you comedy points for that :D 2. That's a completely fair point. I very much dislike the US Army / Air force sponsoring entertainment products. Can you tell me how this absolves UAE sportswashing though? 3. You seem to have misunderstood my last two comments. Modern slavery is a CRIME in Britain. There is nothing even remotely resembling 'a double standard with a selective moralism'. For someone who so arrogantly mentioned helping write articles on the matter (some of them reaching back to 7 years ago) you seem to offer only deflection, shifting blame and whataboutism. It's very clear that you don't give a flying fuck about human rights, anywhere. If this is the field that you've spent almost a decade working in, then I was hoping you had something more insightful to say, rather than being another Falcons flair on HLTV. Best Regards

UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar governments are not Saints. The point is not to absolve. It is not up to us to absolve - this is the problem with our Western European mentality - and it goes waaay back -- we feel that we have the moral position to absolve countries and advise on how they should run their social, economic, and environmental policies. 2. I don't think we will understand each other. We are speaking in circles. I told you that modern slavery is also a CRIME in the UAE that they are actively trying to fight, thru labor laws. You seem to be fully on board with the commonly accepted and unquestioned narratives of Middle Eastern sports-washing and human rights violations that dominate Western discourse, while ignoring similar abuses, corruption, and geopolitical agendas tied to Western-hosted events and institutions around the world. 3. Same with the whataboutism argument... pointing out double-standards is not deflection - it is a critique of credibility. Context is important as well. Western governments and corporations have hosted or profited from events despite their own human rights issues (e.g. systemic racism, police brutality, migrant exploitation), yet rarely face the same media scrutiny or calls for boycott. Consistency and Accountability are important. 4. When you relentlessly scrutinize only Saudi Arabia, Arabs, and UAE, and middle east, your critique loses credibility. It suggests our outrage is less about justice + more about reinforcing power hierarchies or cultural superiority. You just proved my point by wagging your finger at me for not caring about human rights, while thinking you yourself are a human rights warrior for pointing out the challenges of labor laws in the UAE 5. Regarding Falcons Flair: I'm also a fan of Furia, Swole Patrole, Monolz, Chinggis Warriors, Jijiehao, and AlterEgo. I fully support every country's right to invest in esports. As a Western European Anglo-Saxon and American, it would be hilariously hypocritical to say that Saudi Arabia should not be allowed to invest in sports and esports. To you, is something only considered 'insightful' if it aligns with the dominant Western narrative on sportswashing? That view is already widespread. I’m offering an alternative perspective that goes beyond the simplistic 'oil money bad, America/Britain good' storyline. Kind regards

I'm sorry, but it seems to me you're not arguing in good faith. You admit UAE isn't perfect, then spend every sentence after that making excuses, false equivalencies, and desperately pointing at the West. Even if I'm not from the West myself x) This isn't as clever as you think it is. Like the topic modern slavery in Britain. Modern slavery in Britain is a CRIME, publicly tracked and criticized. In the UAE, it's STATE-ENABLED under kafala, dissent is punished, and reform is mostly PR. Saying 'others are bad too' doesn’t absolve the UAE of sportswashing. It just makes you sound like a mouthpiece. If this is the result of years of your research, then clearly you’ve spent more time protecting regimes than understanding the issue. Falcons flair fits.
