MIBR invited to CAC 2025 as Perfect World updates slot allocation again

The tournament's Additional Information has changed once more, with only two months left until the event starts.

MIBR will play at CAC 2025 as Perfect World adds a tenth invite slot

Perfect World has released an updated team list for the CS Asia Championships 2025, with MIBR receiving the tenth and final invitation after the tournament organizer reverted to the original slot allocation

This is the second time that Perfect World has updated the tournament's Additional Information since CAC 2025 was announced in April. For tier-2 events, the "Invite Date must follow the announcement of Additional Information by no fewer than 30 days," per Valve's Tournament Operating Requirements rulebook.

Perfect World announce CAC 2025 invites in violation of TOR rulebook

Earlier this month, Perfect World revealed the names of nine teams invited to the tournament, based on the July VRS. Although FaZe were ineligible for an invite due to their VRS rank (CAC 2025 is a tier-2 event), they were included in the lineup following an exception approved by Valve, allowing Perfect World a Wildcard invite for a former CAC champion.

According to the tournament's new Additional Information, China has gone from having two qualifier slots to none. One of those spots will go to MIBR, while the other will go to an Asian qualifier with four sub-regions: China, East Asia, Oceania, and Others.

On X, Complexity General Manager Graham "messioso" Pitt has criticized Perfect World for once again changing the slot allocation without updating the VRS invite date.

"With more slot changes, they should now be on the September VRS," he wrote.

"Your complete inaction is concerning. The precedent being set is even more so."

CAC 2025 will take place between October 14-19 in Shanghai, with $1 million in prizes ($400,000 for teams and $600,000 for organizations). The updated team list for the event is as follows:

Europe FaZe
China TYLOO
France 3DMAX
China Lynn Vision
Brazil paiN

Other Americas Qualifier
Russia Virtus.pro

can HLTV stop quoting messioso tweets every time? He is not the voice of the people. Why is HLTV keep trying to make him relevant as if he has any support behind him cringe. He tweets when it only doesn't benefits his org/region

buddy they reduced asia invites all in all. they had 2 asia invites in start they changed it to 2 china invites "Asian teams have been left out altogether as PW has now announced the regional qualifier as a China qualifier." [source: hltv.org/news/42365/perfect-world-announ..] then they changed it to 1 asia invite. "China has gone from having two qualifier slots to none. One of those spots will go to MIBR, while the other will go to an Asian qualifier with four sub-regions: China, East Asia, Oceania, and Others." [source: just scroll up] "He tweets when it only doesn't benefits his org/region" this is just false. he is a brit living in denmark, he is not even american. don't try to discredit someone just becuase you are are not the sharpest tool in the shed.

"CoL it's a NA org" true. you get his sentiment, I am very sure he thinks messioso is an american, but his point is still baseless. "He tweets when it only doesn't benefits his org/region" (said by Tmjay) Now. Let's go through his tweets and see how many are about him complaining only for NA related situations. I will skip the tweets which are not about complaining. 1) x.com/messioso/status/195484092780717705.. CAC breaking many rules (affects everyone) 2) x.com/messioso/status/195428471501773631.. StarLadder changed Global invites to EU invites. (affects everyone) And used wrong VRS for the invites. 3) x.com/messioso/status/195308532599713430.. StarLadder missed all the additional info deadlines for StarSeries May 2026 4) x.com/messioso/status/195307396281391141.. StarLadder changed Global invites to EU invites. (affects everyone) And missed deadlines for StarLadder Budapest (not the major but this event hltv.org/events/8539/starladder-starseri.. ) 5) x.com/messioso/status/195209325404169832.. Valve hadn't announced the regional distribution for invites of the upcoming major yet (affects everyone) (they have done it now) 6) x.com/messioso/status/195139352687451390.. finally something that directly involves his team. So making a baseless claim that he is biased is worthless. And I won't stand by it.

You didn't require all this to me. All I said is that you can't use his nationalolity and place of living as an argument against someone saying "He tweets when it only doesn't benefits his org/region" because they're irrelevant to the point in contention.

This tournament it's going to fuck VRS. I'm positive most of the top 12 teams planned to attend it. I don't want to be that guy, but it's almost as if they fuck things up in purpose to make it a T2 event and help Tyloo/Lynn Vision with their ranking.

If so they're soooo fucking dumb. This kind of event would help the Chinese scene way more: hltv.org/events/8587/hero-esports-asian-.. They must be really stupid, because Faze, Legacy, MIBR (EU teams from closed) >>>>> Tyloo, LV. This plan will backfire and both teams will go down the ranking...

Am I crazy? Chinese tournament is getting trash talked with open qualifiers, helping unranked teams to get points no matter the qualifier stage they reach while every other EU tournament is invitation only without a single open qualifier no matter the tournament tier... just fk this VRS crap already... BIG is losing everything all year and they are still top 30.. VP gets multiple chances to play tier 1 sht while losing first rounds all year till one random win to be back invited to tier 1... whole bunch of crap is this VRS without proper penalties for losing and boosts for important wins..

this is exactly the reason why i still think it would be better if valve just stayed out of regulating the competitive scene besides majors. they clearly don't have an interest in actually running things and having a half-assed attempt causes more harm than good

There's a typo in the first paragraph. It states that "the tournament organizer reverted to the original slot allocation," which is not correct.
