Official: Spirit sign tN1R to replace zont1x

The Belarusian star joins the team ahead of ESL Pro League 22.

Spirit have announced the signing of Andrey "⁠tN1R⁠" Tatarinovich from HEROIC.

The change will see tN1R come in for Myroslav "⁠zont1x⁠" Plakhotia, who departs Spirit's active lineup after two years. The Ukrainian rifler was promoted from the organization's academy roster in July 2023 alongside Artem "⁠ArtFr0st⁠" Kharitonov and Danil "⁠donk⁠" Kryshkovets and won a multitude of titles in his first full rookie year, including IEM Katowice, BLAST Spring Final, and the Perfect World Shanghai Major.

In a statement, the Russian organization said zont1x was moved to the bench at his own request.

"Several months ago, Miroslav informed the Team Spirit management that he needed some time off in order to solve certain personal issues," Spirit said. "It took us a while to provide him with such an opportunity, avoiding negative consequences for the roster’s stability at the same time. We undoubtedly respect Miroslav’s choice.

"Throughout all these years zont1x has made a tremendous contribution to the development of our roster both inside the game and beyond. Miroslav’s composure, humanity and stable performances made him a vital part the Team Spirit family."

zont1x asked to be moved to the bench, according to Spirit

Spirit walked away from the first half of 2025 with two titles, but regularly played second fiddle to MOUZ and Vitality in the biggest events, prompting a change during the off-season.

The organization brought in Ivan "⁠zweih⁠" Gogin for Boris "⁠magixx⁠" Vorobiev during the summer tournament break, but despite the new lineup finding immediate success in its debut with trophy-winning campaigns at IEM Cologne and BLAST Bounty Season 2 Finals, Spirit opted for a second change.

tN1R moves to Spirit after an impressive eight months with HEROIC, a team he only joined after Linus "⁠nilo⁠" Bergman stepped away from competition due to personal reasons at the start of the year.

Stat Check: Spirit are right to be ruthless despite Cologne success

The 24-year-old averaged a 1.19 rating on LAN over 74 maps during his HEROIC tenure, establishing himself as the team's star. With key role players in zont1x and magixx both out and zweih and tN1R to bed in, all eyes will be on Spirit to see how they adjust to the changes.

With the move, Spirit have:

the problem is team dynamics donk and zont1x are fucking bros since their shared days on spirit academy for like 3+ years and mostly playing similiar positions. that's one of the few things still keeping spirit together from just hard tilting after one failed anti-eco. they still play the same positions they did on spirit academy when donk isn't in a rotation need on a lot of maps or when the rotation spot is close enough anyways (see: dust2 B is anchored by zontix usually and donk is in rotator spots around mid unless spirit get some very early A read). this is a bad roaster move unless tnir gets warm really quick. years of built chemistry getting risked even though zont1x still performs really well , is a hell of a move

According to zont1x's recent tweet, he asked to be benched some time after the Major to deal with some personal issues, but was retained because the transfer market just wasn't in a spot where they could get an equivalent replacement. He expects to be back in the winter season.

firepower upgrade, but i think zweih has to become more supportive, or get magix back if zweih thinks he wants to be another star this wont work either. just remeber that dust game vs g2, zweih was doing to much running around, if they have magix they easily win and chopper has to fix his firepower.

On dust2 zweih is currently playing heavily out of position. I think now they will distribute A positions between sh1ro, chopper and tN1R (he was always playing A short), and put zweih as a B anchor which is his natural role - but was previously occupied by zont1x Also as we've seen in Heroic, tN1R works perfectly as a support rifler in terms of firepower - hard entry if needed, like A long dust2 or lobby on nuke ... What I believe we will see is zweih going to more anchor/lurker spots, chopper playing less proactively leaving space to tN1R and donk, all supported by sh1ro - i think on paper it's some perfect balance, but of course we'll see - only Allah knows

I somehow think if things go south it's chopper - zont1x is definitely an IGL material in the way he understands the game, and these players don't need a cheerleader - also in the current meta all these "leadership" qualities matter less To me it's also clear that zweih was donk's candidate - or at least someone he backed a lot, bringing his FACEIT buddy to the core. So unless zweih plays the red ratings every second game, which is highly unlikely, I don't think he's leaving soon
