Passion UA drop team

The Ukrainian side is headed for the second rebuild in the past six months.

Passion UA have announced they are parting ways with their current Counter-Strike 2 roster around Volodymyr "⁠Woro2k⁠" Veletniuk.

The AWPer and Oleksii "⁠Topa⁠" Topchiienko have been released from the organization, while Vladyslav "⁠Kvem⁠" Korol, Nikita "⁠jackasmo⁠" Skyba and Sergiy "⁠DemQQ⁠" Demchenko have been placed on the bench.

Head coach Tiaan "⁠T.c⁠" Coertzen and assistant coach Luca "⁠Munstur⁠" Ioanițiu are staying on, the former has confirmed to HLTV, to take charge of an apparent rebuild of the team.

"This is not the end of Passion UA's story — it's the beginning of a new chapter," the X announcement reads.

Passion UA's move brings an end to a short-lived stint of the team's latest core, which came together at the beginning of the year after Rodion "⁠fear⁠" Smyk and Dmytro "⁠jambo⁠" Semera were acquired by fnatic.

jackasmo is the only one to remain from the squad that made headlines with a promising run at the Perfect World Shanghai Major in December, with the remaining quartet having joined throughout the last seven months amid the first big rebuild of the roster.

After DemQQ joined to round out the roster in April, the team got off to a promising start with a slew of deep runs that led to Passion UA reaching 32nd place on the Global Valve Standings, including a win at a Swedish open LAN, Glitched Masters.

But their results have since take a turn for the worse, with the Ukrainian side now ranked 48th at the time of their benching.
