BetBoom beat BC.Game for Exort Proving Grounds title

The Russian team makes significant headway in the final month and a half before invites to StarLadder Major Budapest go out.

BetBoom jumped to 16th on the European VRS

BetBoom have come out victorious from Exort Proving Ground Season 3 following a two-map grand final affair against Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev's BC.Game, where Kirill "Magnojez" Rodnov topped the board with a 1.55 rating to carry his team to the title.

The victory comes with a $40,000 first-place prize, enough to see BetBoom rise to a provisional 22nd placing on the Global Valve ranking and 16th in Europe.

That could prove crucial in the Russian team's hopes to qualify for StarLadder Major Budapest, for which the top 16 in Europe based on the ranking from October 5 will receive a direct invite.

Before that, Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov and company can still make their case in tournaments such as ESL Challenger League's first European cup, CCT Series 5 and more importantly the Majestic LanDaLan 3, where they will fight against regional competition for LAN points and a $50,000 prizepool.

The achievement — BetBoom's first tournament win since last November's YaLLa Compass — comes off the back of changes in the Russian squad in late July, which saw the struggling Sergey "Ax1Le" Rykhtorov make way for Daniil "d1Ledez" Kustov and Artem "ArtFr0st" Kharitonov join on a permanent basis.

The AWPer in particular was crucial in the title-winning campaign as the team's highest-rated player over the four series they played, at 1.15.

hltv.org/stats/players/events/429/karrig.. did this and came back and won a major after while being old, you are delusional if you think getting second place to betboom at first tourney is career ending

He got given an opportunity. He didn't even qualify to said major. Not career ending, but a severe career decline. Cry harder.

both rely on a good team regardless, if you could use your brain youd realize s1mple didnt lose because of his skill, he lost cause primetapz and andu HEAVILY bottom fragged. how do you expect any player to win 3v5?

im confused on the relevancy of this reply, both examples people gave the player shit for stepping down to a lower level to build himself back up, why does it matter if its igl or not? it doesnt, both are legendary players in their roles so the comparison fits extremely well if you arent actually a 0 iq monkey. also how fucking dumb are you that you think is s1mple is only skill and no brain, literally one of the best clutchers in the world???? did you just start watching cs in 2025 when you made your fucking hltv account???? not taking shit from a moron who started watching 7 years after s1mples peak

“Karrigan came back and won a major when old”. Karrigan is an IGL. S1mple is a player entirely dependent on SKILL. Skill fades as you age and fall out of practice. IGLing does not. The comparison between S1mple and Karrigan makes zero sense. Again if you could read. Also s1mple WAS the best clutcher years ago not even close now. It’s like you guys have no concept of time, like a goldfish. No need to get so upset lil bro btw

multiple players have proven your skill does not drop off with "age" like people think, in reality their skill drops off because they get families and dedicate less time to the game. keep going, keep showing how braindead ignorant you are and just spouting surface level knowledge of how esports actually works. clutching doesnt go away lmfaooo you are so fucking dumb it blows my mind how you can even type thats why xyp was still able to compete well into his 30s before he got distracted by family and his skill went down, he could still clutch and outbrain opponents easily just didnt prac enough anymore to follow through with his aim. :) also before your dumb ass brings up reaction time pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9423772.. here is a study about how reaction time barely drops with age and most of the time only raises by 90ish ms which to a pro like s1mple is still more than enough for quite a long time considering the rate is 2–6 ms per decade

"IGLing does not" man tell that to gla1ve. Blud is not even 30 yet. And no T1 teams wants to touch him. Yet he's 4x Major winner... If s1mple stays motivated, and continues to grind, there is no doubt that someone with this raw talent will succeed again. I truly respect the step down to prove he's worth again.
