Techno earns career-first MVP at EWC 2025

The Mongolian player excelled throughout the tournament ending it with a 1.39 Rating.

Sodbayar "Techno" Munkhbold has been named the Esports World Cup's MVP, earning him the highest individual accolade at a tournament for the first time in his career.

Known for his hard entrying and supportive play in the past, Techno has been shining bright on his own since moving to a role that puts him in trading and clutch situations.

The 20-year-old was the highest-rated player at the event in Saudi Arabia among players with more than one series played, with a 1.39 Rating, followed by Ismailcan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş (1.30), Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut (1.29), and Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov (1.26).

On The MongolZ, it was Garidmagnai "bLitz" Byambasuren who came in second, with a 1.25, followed by Azbayar "Senzu" Munkhbold's 1.16.

Techno was the second-highest rated player in the 3-0 grand final victory over Aurora with a 1.33 Rating and +3.89% Swing, only behind Senzu's 1.40 and +5.02%.

Techno also led in KD difference (+51), total kills (193), and had the highest Swing (+3.98%) in the tournament among players with more than one series played. He was also second in assists, with 58, behind only bLitz's 62.

1.02 in semis vs Aurora. Not saying he's a bad player, but he definitely underperforms lately in crucial matches.

Interview with Techno after the win: From the first half of the year compared to now, it seems there was a change in the way you're playing in your team. In the first half of the year it seemed like on T side you would go in first a lot, whereas now it feels like mzinho is going in first more often. Is that something you worked on in the break? No, there's nothing special, I think it's just that we're playing the same playstyle with a better performance. About mzinho and me, we have the same position, lurker and anchor, and sometimes he needs to go forward and sometimes I need to, but I do it often.

Good to see that. Not so long ago, Techno wasn't playing so well on PGL and everyone wanted to replace him. It's obvious that these guys don't know the game. Mongolz is a well-coordinated team and all it took was a little patience.
