gob b returns to BIG having previously served as a player and head coach for both the academy and main team.

BIG have announced the signing of Fatih "⁠gob b⁠" Dayik as their academy head coach, bringing the 38-year-old back into the fold after he departed from the main team's head coach role in May 2024.

The move is the latest in a string of wider changes across BIG, with David "⁠prosus⁠" Hesse recently being promoted to the main team whilst Can "⁠kyuubii⁠" Ali moved down to BIG Academy.

gob b has a long history with BIG, dating back to his time as a player beginning in 2017. As a player, he attended four Majors and made the playoffs twice, at PGL Major Krakow 2017 and FACEIT Major 2018.

The tenured player would hang up his mouse in 2019 and move to become the academy team's head coach, before departing the organization entirely in 2020. He returned to BIG in 2022 as the main team's head coach, overseeing their Roobet Cup 2022 victory and rise to No. 7 in HLTV's world ranking.

Results dried up for the team and BIG began to cycle through players towards the end of gob b's tenure, and he was removed from his coaching duties mid-way through 2024.

they have like top5 player in trackmania so yeah they are title contender there, but trackmania is small for now, it is growing rapidly but I dont think there is really any org thats net positive in TM. Dont know about other games.

I hope he used his time away to study modern CS. He's a brilliant guy and has the potential to be one of the best coaches, but only if he adjusted to today's standards and will not try to make them play like he used to himself.

Because at the end of his time as a player on BIG he couldn't adapt his tactics. They kept playing outdated CS, which continued under Tabsen and resulted into one reason why BIG has fallen so far down.

at the end of his playing time BIG was never as bad as they are right now i dont think its about the style they play Blad3 won a major with Navi with a slow style its a about the team chemistry when u are playing that style back in the day BIG never had the greatest aimers outside of xantares but they just played insane team cs

it for sure has some flaws especially that i feel like the awps always get worse in a gobb system but he said on stream yesterday hes not about ingame tactics anymore he just wants to make the players better so they make it into a tier 1 team

Pro e-sports in general tbh. The scene tried to grow too big too fast. Prize money and salaries got out of hand and then sponsors realized theres no actual return for their investment and the investment is too high, and now we are left with (shady) gambling sites and saudi money.
