Vitality survive tough battle with FaZe to earn semi-final berth in BLAST London
Vitality had to survive multiple series points to drag themselves to a decider.

Vitality have earned themselves a spot in the semi-finals of BLAST Open London 2025, surviving stiff resistance by FaZe to do so with a 2-1 series win.
Both of the first two maps went to overtime as FaZe fought tooth and nail to steal the game from Vitality, with David "frozen" Čerňanský and Helvijs "broky" Saukants playing lights out CS, but after dropping Mirage (17-19) Vitality survived multiple series points on Nuke (19-16) before closing things out on Inferno (13-5).
The result means Vitality will begin their LAN final campaign in the semi-finals, whilst FaZe will have to deal with a quarter-final matchup.
FaZe kicked off the series in fine form on the T side of Mirage, racing out to a 6-1 lead off the back of some potent entries and solid mid-round calling. Vitality got back into the half thanks to their anchors, particularly Shahar "flameZ" Shushan, fending off some executes, only for a cheeky Finn "karrigan" Andersen lurk through Window to secure a winning half for his team.
Some more karrigan impact won FaZe their CT pistol but Vitality answered back with guns up, their excellent spacing and trading carrying them into the lead for the first time in the map. broky was not to be denied on Mirage, however, and the Latvian Laser produced a string of multi-kills to send the map to OT.
Classic FaZe BS as broky collateral into frozen 1v3 wins the 3v5
Classic FaZe BS took hold in overtime, broky getting a collateral and frozen producing a 1v3, and whilst Vitality fought valiantly, the aforementioned FaZe duo carried their team over the line.
Some good old-fashioned force-buy wars started things off on Nuke, with some clean Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut entry work and well-coordinated Upper hits ensuring Vitality came out on top, with an incredible Robin "ropz" Kool 1v3 clutch serving as the cherry on top.
FaZe, however, produced a strong offense of their own, largely off the back of the in-form duo of broky and frozen and some strong mid-round calling, which abused Vitality's lack of effort to maintain Yard control. Just when it seemed FaZe would close the series, flameZ and William "mezii" Merriman popped up with vital multi-kills to send the series to another OT.
Vitality were the team to come out on top in the extra rounds this time around. Both teams fought back-and-forth before frozen died jumping out of Heaven in a vital round, which gave Vitality the runway to close the map out with their powerful T side.
FaZe simply didn't bring the same level to the final map of Inferno, and they found themselves comfortably outclassed on the decider. Some tidy post-plants from Vitality earned an 8-4 halftime lead, before their defensive utility put FaZe to the sword in the final half of play.
broky continues to shine
broky's resurgence is very much ongoing, and it's a significant boon to FaZe. The Latvian Laser was a menace on both of the first maps, posting over 30 kills in each, and produced some of his trademark late-round tomfoolery to gift rounds to his team.
Vitality survive despite ZywOo's slow series
flameZ and ropz posted improved showings in this series compared to some of the shakier games they have endured in recent times, and both were key in ensuring Vitality clawed their way through this match.
ZywOo, however, was mediocre for much of this game. In the first two maps he missed multiple shots you would bet your house on him hitting, seemed lost as to what to do in many situations, and needed his teammates to bail him out.
The Frenchman was at least much improved on Inferno, and the team still won despite his struggles, which is a positive sign for Vitality. You can't imagine ZywOo's downturn will last much longer.
