dupreeh interview: Analyst work, tier-one meta, and "living" life

At the Austin Major, the Danish legend spoke to HLTV about the personal growth following his departure from the server.

Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen is a name that needs no introduction, having won five Majors and been a part of the all-conquering Astralis roster with whom he won everything there was to win. The legendary Dane recently announced his retirement from competitive play at the Austin Major, and spoke to HLTV shortly before that announcement in a longer form interview.

Among the many topics of discussion was dupreeh's venture into analyst work, something that began at BLAST Bounty in early 2025.

"It's a new challenge, and I'm seeing a lot of personal growth in it," the Dane said about his new role in the Counter-Strike ecosystem. "When I did my first one in January, I thought like I'm not good at anything else other than playing Counter-Strike. That has been so much of my identity that I just had to see what else is out there."

Despite his enjoyment of the on-camera work, the 32-year-old insists he is keeping his options open and seeing what works for his current stage in life. "I'm trying to see what's out there that's fun for me to do," he told HLTV.

"The last stint in Falcons showed me that I need to do something I think is fun for me to care [about it]. I care about what I do on the desk, but development is also important to me.

"I actually get to live a bit right now, compared to when I was playing. It's nice to finally feel I can do whatever I want," he told HLTV before announcing his retirement from playing a couple of days later.

dupreeh also spoke about the current tier-one meta and his wish to bring something different to the analyst desk, among a plethora of topics.
