dupreeh announces retirement from competition
The winningest player in CS:GO/CS2 has officially shared that he is stepping back from competitive play.

Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen has officially announced his retirement from professional play. This announcement marks the end of a lengthy and successful career for the Danish rifler, who claimed a record-setting 32 tournament victories, including five Major trophies.
dupreeh's career in CS:GO/CS2 spans over a decade, beginning in 2012 with 3DMAX's Danish lineup before eventually making the move to CPH Wolves. It was here where the Dane would first play alongside Nicolai "device" Reedtz and Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth, kicking off a trio that would play together for over seven-and-a-half years and achieve monumental success.

dupreeh claimed a number of individual accolades in the early portion of his career, earning the honor of 18th and 16th Best Player of the World in 2013 and 2014, respectively, and began to claim notable LAN wins in 2015 after Dignitas was acquired by TSM.
Despite this success, a Major trophy continued to elude dupreeh and his compatriots for some time. The rifler was a common fixture in Major quarter-finals and semi-finals from 2013 to 2016, but his teams continually failed to reach the finals, let alone hoist a trophy.

This trend continued after TSM made the jump to Astralis (which included a quarter-final exit at ESL Cologne 2016 where dupreeh departed early due to an appendix infection), but the additions of Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye and Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander finally allowed Astralis to thrive on a Major stage. In January 2017, dupreeh finally earned his first Major trophy at the ELEAGUE Major in Atlanta.
A loss to eventual champions Gambit at PGL Major Krakow 2017 and dupreeh's first group-stage Major exit at ELEAGUE Major 2018 set in motion Kjaerbye's departure to North. Despite the shocking move, Astralis rebounded with the addition of Emil "Magisk" Reif, immediately finding success.

From here on, dupreeh and Astralis engaged in a stunning string of victories, scooping up trophies throughout 2018 and 2019, claiming three Major titles back-to-back, the first Intel Grand Slam prize, and a slew of Big Event placings. dupreeh was a crucial component in this success, laying claim to the honor of 5th Best Player of the Year in 2018 and following that up as the 16th Best Player of 2019.
While the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and the online era allowed unlikely names like HEROIC and Gambit Youngsters to rise through the ranks, dupreeh and the rest of Astralis continued to pose a threat, claiming four online titles and yet another Player of the Year award for dupreeh, who was dubbed the 9th best of 2020.

Following the departure of long-time teammate device in 2021 and a general decline in form from Astralis even after making the return to LAN, dupreeh, Magisk, and Danny "zonic" Sørensen opted for a new challenge, jumping to the newly international Vitality lineup, placing dupreeh in an English-speaking team for the first time in his career.
Although there were high hopes for Vitality's new lineup, dupreeh and his new teammates struggled to stick the landing throughout 2022. A runner-up finish at the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2022 and a victory at ESL Pro League Season 16 offered glimmers of hope, but Vitality failed to find much else to be thankful for, even after replacing Kévin "misutaaa" Rabier with rising star Lotan "Spinx" Giladi.

The dynamic changed for Vitality in 2023. The team bagged several key playoff appearances to kick off the year, and claimed an important victory at IEM Rio just ahead of the BLAST.tv Paris Major. dupreeh and the rest of Vitality peaked at just the right time, marching through the French Major without dropping a map, to give dupreeh the honor of hoisting his fifth Major trophy, the last of CS:GO.
Although Vitality finally found the success they were looking for, dupreeh would not be a part of the team's future plans as the international side opted for young blood in the form of Shahar "flameZ" Shushan. After a brief period on the bench, dupreeh returned to Danish sides for the remainder of 2023 and early 2024, plying his trade with HEROIC and Preasy amidst the shift to CS2.
dupreeh's final stop in his playing career came with Falcons, reuniting with long-time teammate Magisk in another international lineup. The Dane's final hurrah was at the Perfect World Shanghai Major Europe RMR, where Falcons came up short of another Major appearance for dupreeh despite having superstar stand-in Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev in tow.

Following the end of his time with Falcons, dupreeh has now made the jump to the analyst desk, where the decorated veteran has offered his insights at a number of events in 2025, including at the ongoing BLAST.tv Austin Major.
The following list includes just some of dupreeh's many achievements throughout his time as a competitor.
