Wildcard recall phzy from 9INE loan

The Swedish sniper is heading back to the States against the wishes of 9INE.

Love "⁠phzy⁠" Smidebrant will return to Wildcard after his parent organization cancelled his loan to 9INE.

"This was not according to our plan but due to circumstances outside of 9INE's control," the Swedish organization said. "Our hope was to continue playing with phzy, especially given the strong results we've had recently and the stability he's brought to the team."

9INE says the two teams have been locked in negotiations around a return since August (despite phzy only joining on July 31), but no solution has been found.

stanislaw returns to Wildcard's starting lineup

Wildcard have had a hectic few months, transfer-listing Tim "⁠susp⁠" Ångström, benching and reinstating Peter "⁠stanislaw⁠" Jarguz with question marks around the future of Aran "⁠Sonic⁠" Groesbeek, too.

The team are currently playing with academy graduate AWPer Sebastian "⁠fr3nd⁠" Kuśmierz, who is the most likely casualty of phzy's return to America, but no official word has come from Wildcard. The team have not responded to a request for comment as of the writing of this article.

Wildcard transfer-list susp

After phzy's departure following a disappointing Stage 1 exit in Austin, Wildcard have sunk to 60th on the VRS. That puts them 14th in the prospective list of Budapest Major invites, with 10 available for North and South America.

9INE, who have lost their highest-rated player with this move, say they will play with stand-ins until a permanent solution can be found, making them:
