The team list for Thunderpick World Championship is now complete thanks to the conclusion of the closed qualifier, with OG, Imperial, Venom and 9z securing spots at the $850,000 tournament.
Set to run October 15-19, Thunderpick World Championship will pit eight teams against each other on LAN in Malta with a $500,000 top prize up for grabs. The four qualified teams will join The MongolZ, Aurora, FURIA and Natus Vincere in the competition, who were invited directly via the VRS.
A raft of the favorites to proceed from the closed qualifier were taken out in the first round, with OG claiming the scalp of M80 on their way to qualification.
A big performance from Olle "spooke" Grundström guided OG to a hard-fought win over the North American side, before they then dispatched BIG in relatively comfortable fashion to secure their LAN berth.

The Poles of Venom also claimed an upset to start their qualifier run, besting a Ninjas in Pyjamas side who have been in lacklustre form since IEM Cologne, before thrashing Nemiga thanks to a stellar showing by Kamil "Sobol" Sobolewski.

Fans of South American CS will be rejoicing as two of their representatives in the qualifier, Imperial and 9z, came out swinging to earn themselves spots at the LAN event in Malta.
Imperial eased past TNL to set up a Brazilian derby with Legacy, which they duly won thanks to two hard-fought map victories where Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes and Kaiky "noway" Santos led the way.
