Liquid-FaZe thriller headlines final FISSURE Playground 2 group stage matchups

Twistzz will face the team he is bound for in a do-or-die match.

The final matchups for FISSURE Playground 2's Swiss group stage are set following the conclusion of round four, which saw G2, The MongolZ, and FURIA secure playoff berths while 3DMAX, TYLOO, and Legacy were sent home.

Three matches are left to determine the final teams that will head to the Belgrade Arena, headlined by a mouth-watering battle between Liquid and FaZe.

Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken is poised to reunite with Finn "karrigan" Andersen and company after the event in Serbia concludes, meaning the do-or-die match against FaZe could either be the Canadian's last in a Liquid jersey, or he could see to the elimination of the team he is about to join.

The second matchup will see Astralis take on GamerLegion, with the latter set to replace Jeremy "Kursy" Gast with Milan "hypex" Polowiec after the event and the former on the hunt for their first playoff appearance with Emil "Magisk" Reif back in the fold.

Virtus.pro will end the day looking to complete a recovery from a trip to the 0-2 pool against paiN, who faltered to FURIA in the 2-1 qualifying round and will hope to get the job done at the second time of asking.

but what can you do, forcing the team to play with a substitute/coach won't make them better

transfer windows, player locks, non-compete clause until move materialize, not allowing orgs involved to partake in same tournament just to name a few

the thing is you don't know when a player is negotiating with an org anyway. remember Niko and falcons, he negotiated with them for a year before signing the contract.

transfer windows: will not work. nothing more to be said, you're old enough to think. player locks: i don't get this. non-compete clauses until move materalizes: some players have instant buyout clauses in their contracts. some teams can buy that player whenever they want if they pay that price. will you kick teams out of tournaments because their player was bought? no. will you change contracts? no. not allowing orgs involved to partake in same tournament: ok, let's say the move happened during this FPG. this means that FaZe and TL would be disqualified, what now? FF every one of their future games? play the tournament with 2 less teams and what about the teams that lost to FaZe? invite other 2 random teams with 0 notice? as a GAME COMPANY you can not impose anything to the ORGANIZATIONS that compete in your game. yes, you can make a system and have contracts with TOs so they will host your biggest event of the season and things like that, but you can not tell ORGANIZATIONS what to do.

actually this kind of stuff is exactly why liquid made this announcement so soon; they had to announce it in time for roster submissions for next tournament

All that would make the situation already way better would be that finished moves where the player has signed a contract are forcibly sent to valve or hltv or anyone willing to verify, and then they cannot play in games against their new team

Ok, as I asked, would Liquid have a better chance of winning with Twistzz or with a random sub/coach? 4v5?

No, but the conflict of interest makes the game moot, twistzz is free to troll in favor of his new team and he has an incentive to throw because of the vrs.

In this case, quite simple, reshuffle the matches. Make faze play GL And liquid VP for example.

Not possible since Astralis would have a rematch with Pain. I'm also pretty sure that the teams facing have to come from different brackets (2-1 and 1-2). In order to respect everything, there is one other possible situation: FaZe/VP, Liquid/Pain and Astralis/GL. However, there probably is some seeding in play and this would be "unfair" for FaZe getting a "stronger" opponent (based on VRS from July 7th) or an unfair advantage for Pain in a similar fashion. It's true that such a conflict of interest would be bad if both of the teams were on the verge of missing the major, but in this particular case, I see Twistzz playing slightly better than usual from a mental aspect.

Hltv restards keep pushing frozen to navi narrative when it literally makes no sense since there are role clashes with bit and not only that navi is one of the few teams that is worse than faze rn

It's so stupid that players are allowed to play in these games and no one is watching over if twistzz has already signed a contract or not. inb4 another "totally not a conflict of interest" game where the player that's transfering over will smile and greet his new team as his loses like m0nesy did against falcons.

be a damn shame if faze were to lose the match giving valuable vrs points to liquid in their pursuit of major qualification and twistzz just subsequently happened to have his buyout reduced.

what no one is really talking about is Faze's bench heading into a major. Potentially you have 2 good players sitting out a major on this bench. Can a team grab the bench and improve? I would most certainly say yes! Is it to late for VRS to qual I say no. So where is Faze's bench going.
