EPL Stage 1 round 3 matchups set as G2 fumble to Gentle Mates

Four underdogs are set to battle for Stage 2 spots on Tuesday.

Day two of ESL Pro League S22 Stage 1 came to an end with Gentle Mates getting an upset win over G2.

The result means that the Spanish squad rose up three more places in the VRS, which moves them into Budapest Major invite range and puts them one win away from Stage 2 in Stockholm.

Earlier in the day, HOTU continued their underdog run by beating B8 and now find themselves in the 2-0 pool, as do ENCE and Inner Circle, who got the better of Astralis and GamerLegion, respectively.

This now means two surprising qualification clashes, as HOTU will meet ENCE at 10:30 before Inner Circle take on Gentle Mates in the second 2-0 game.

Elsewhere in the Swiss bracket, M80 will clash with Rooster in an elimination game, with Fluxo vs. NRG set as the other 0-2 match.
