G2 reach 2-0 pool over FURIA

The two sides continued their trend of trading best-of-three victories with one another.

G2 have locked in their place in the 2-0 pool of ESL Pro League Season 22, pushing past FURIA with a 2-0 series win to put themselves a win away from playoffs.

With this result, G2 have secured revenge for the previous meeting between the two teams, where FURIA emerged victorious in a group stage clash en route to their eventual tournament victory. This win also allowed G2 to eclipse FURIA in the head-to-head, as the teams had an even 2-2 record across their last four series in recent months.

G2's pick of Train kicked off the series, where FURIA emerged with an early 4-3 lead despite missing out on the pistol round win. G2 briefly equalized, but FURIA marched on to a 7-5 lead off the back of Kaike "⁠KSCERATO⁠" Cerato's efforts.

MATYS kicks off second half with a 4k

A Matúš "⁠MATYS⁠" Šimko quad kill in the second pistol round allowed G2 to tie things up yet again, but FURIA pulled ahead on the offense once they got guns in their hands, putting themselves just two rounds away from a map win.

G2 flipped the script on FURIA to end Train, as Nikita "⁠HeavyGod⁠" Martynenko repeatedly denied the Brazilians entrance to the B-site. Despite KSCERATO's continued output on the offense, G2 scooped up six rounds straight on the defense to lock down Train 13-11.

malbsMd and huNter- wrap up the pistol in seconds

G2 did not take time to warm up into Dust2; Nemanja "⁠huNter-⁠" Kovač's men romped to a 10-0 start on the defense, shutting out FURIA in all but the final two rounds of the first half as MATYS posted a stunning 2.56 CT-side rating.

FURIA began the slow crawl back into their map pick with a pistol round, climbing all the way to eight rounds before G2 scraped together the final three rounds they needed to lock down the series victory.
