Lack of practice bites The MongolZ after early EPL elimination at the hands of NAVI

The world number one have been sent home to end their streak of consecutive grand finals.

NAVI are into the quarter-finals

Natus Vincere have knocked The MongolZ out of ESL Pro League and secured themselves a playoff berth with a 2-0 victory.

Garidmagnai "bLitz" Byambasuren's side have been world number one for two weeks after three grand finals in a row but looked a shadow of themselves in Sweden.

The commentary team were quick to point to a lack of practice — Ayush "mzinho" Batbold admitted the team spent their week at home with family due to spending so much time away before the event — and ring rust was visible today even after four matches in Stockholm.

The MongolZ stayed at the PCs between maps after NAVI opened the match with a 13-3 win on Nuke, and it seemed to pay off as they raced to a 6-1 lead.

But Natus Vincere then won 9 in a row to lead 10-6. And, even after The MongolZ won what should have been a back-breaking 2v5 with a Azbayar "Senzu" Munkhbold 1v2 and forced overtime, it was Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen's men who stood tallest with a 16-12 win in the extra rounds.

"We need to do more practice," Sodbayar "Techno" Munkhbold said post-game to Freya "Freya" Spiers, and they will at least have time before the The MongolZ's next event at Thunderpick in a week's time.

Regardless of The MongolZ's underperformance, take nothing away from Natus Vincere after overcoming the demons that saw them take losses to Falcons and 3DMAX.

"Nuke was so easy," Ihor "w0nderful" Zhdanov told the couch after the match after his 15-5 first half on the map. "I don't think I've ever done so much stuff with the AWP, it was so easy. I was so surprised, I could do whatever I wanted."

Natus Vincere made top-four in Cologne before suffering a dip in form. But, by making the playoffs here, they are proving that confidence from a win at StarSeries Fall can be translated into tier one events.

Aleksib, however, wasn't getting carried away. "This run shows exactly where we are at. 3-2, very close, playoffs secured. Now it's only up to us how far we can go."

falcons havent made a single final in like forever spirit have essentially bombed out of everything after their two initial wins while mongolz won both ewc and made fpg final during that time and didnt bomb out in cologne or bounty (even made final there too) made austin final and have just been super consistent in general over the past like 5 months vitality have only made one singular final past the summer break so thats also worse results there and i dont know why you would even talk about mouz cause theyve been clearly worse too.. it will likely not last long but this no1 is deffo deserved hence it being in both rankings.. also can i ask what happened to "everyone loves mongolz"? as long as they dont take your white eu spots im guessing or what, playoffs contenders mongolz is fine but they have to be kept down at the same time thats some real everybody loves mongolz/cant hate them right there..

EWC = Vita and Spirit were sick + single elim bracket FPG = Vita Spirit and mouz didn't attend Major final = Mickey mouse bracket Blast Bounty = 0-3 stomp from Spirit Context matters, they are consistent but never show up when it matters most, that's why they will never be top 1 even if the mickey mouse VRS says otherwise.

every ranking says otherwise... and its not their fault that all those circumstances were seemingly apparently the case as you claim cause they still got those achievements also do you know that the mongolz themselves were in good health and perfect shape during that time? no you dont in fact i even seem to remember that bLitz and one other were kinda sick themselves during ewc or sth i never said this was the most deserved no1 or that it should stay this way now after this but it is definitely as legitimate as they could make it in their power pretty much...

they didnt win anything tho and havent made a final other than london where they shamefully got beat by g2 lmao on the other hand if you look at mongolz achievements in the tournaments they attended in like the past 5 months or sth before epl now.. i can definitely see why both hltv and vrs now put them at no1 granted it wont last long so i hope youre happy then there with that...

The Mongolz should consider taking a break from participating in continuous events, as they may risk experiencing burnout prior to the Major.

i assume thats why they took a break from ewc to epl. no pracc during or before fpg. and now no pracc made them weak.

They won because mongolz looked weak compared to their form in previous tournaments. Hence this post. End of story.
