BLAST Rivals Season 2 team list confirmed

The MongolZ, Vitality, and Spirit are among those to make the trip to Hong Kong.

BLAST have announced the team list for BLAST Rivals 2025 Season 2, set to be played from November 14-16 in the AsiaWorld–Arena in Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong, a 12,500-capacity arena.

The tournament will feature eight competitors, four of whom come from the Global VRS and four as wildcards from North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.

The MongolZ, FURIA, Vitality, and Spirit have secured their spots via the Global VRS standings and will assume the role of favorites for the event, with Vitality aiming to retain their title from BLAST Rivals 2025 S1.

Falcons (EU), paiN (SA), TYLOO (Asia), and Passion UA (NA) come in as the four regional wildcard teams.

The eight teams will be split into two groups of four. A best-of-three GSL group stage will decide which teams head to the single-elimination best-of-three playoff bracket, set to culminate in a best-of-five final.

The full team list is as follows:

Just because you're Asian doesn't mean you shouldn't have standards for events held in Asia. 8 teams with 350k prize pool, is that what you think you deserve?

Teams go there to play Chengdu, 1 million dollar 16 team tier1 event. Then a few stay to play this laughable Blast event just to make money from Blast revenue sharing schemes.

I live there I would way prefer top 8 VRS team to participate. That "4 wildcards invite" in an 8 team event is a joke.

5 teams from top 10, pointless event, my man do you know about Starladder Starseries Fall 2025 or maybe you’re just salty cause there are no events in Finland? :D

Starladder was basically a practice event for the TO before the Major and I guess it had some ramifications for the Major invites as well. Also this tier3 level event had a bigger prize pool. I get it that it's great to have an event close to home, but it won't change the fact that this will be the fifth very underwhelming Blast event of the year in terms of LAN play and prizes.

why is passion UA an american team @valve If you make Liquid become European cuz of Nertz then u have to make Passion UA European cuz of JT. It makes 0 sense and there not even an American org. They're name literally has UA in it. i mean m80 should get the invite by rules, but why not just make it competitive by doing top 8 global

By the rules Passion gets the invite. Subsaharan Africa counts as essentially a wildcard region. Read the rule changes from July (I think that’s when the change happened) and that will explain how JT technically counts as NA on this PUA roster.

ik that it counts, but it makes no sense... isrea is just as much asia as south africa is africa... meaning they both are not European... meaning both are 2+2+1, so if ur gunna loophole liquids lineup then u have to also do that to other teams with a 2+2+1

and i mean obv liquid did fine in the end with european, and they are better off starting off in stage 2 than 3 where they would have been with NA lineup, but they also would have been invited to a lot of these events through NA invite

The reason why MENA’s classification was changed was due to server proximity, which makes a ton of sense to do. South Africa is too far from anywhere to be a viable region and that essentially forces Valve to make it a wildcard region to prevent the death of the region. Liquid wants to go EU so that’s not really relevant. CoL was already NA before (3 USA, 1 SAF, 1 NOR) so this is just Passion playing by the rules as intended.

well this invite wasnt based on VRS tho it was an north american wildcard, so they could have invited NRG or m80 or something also

I’m 99% sure the wildcard portion of the invite is the regional VRS aspect. The invites for both this event and the previous rivals event have followed the regional VRS invite list. I’m spitballing here, but I think for a T1 event a certain % of invites have to be global and because rivals fails to meet that they have special permission from valve to have ‘wildcards’ that are really just regional VRS invites. They can’t(or if I’m wrong they still won’t) invite whoever they want from each region based on how they’ve established it.

Why would they make Passion UA EU vecause od JT? Why not NA?

So they had the chance to not invite Falcons (its a wildcard invite and not based on VRS) and still did it anyway? wtf is wrong with blast?

this event is so bad, only featuring 8 teams and having some kind of "wildcard team" (basically tier 1.5-2 teams except falcons), just bring back the world final

4 highest teams on the VRS received an invite. The invite date was October 6th, and at the time those 4 teams were MongolZ, Furia, Vitality and Spirit, all of which accepted the invite. The other 4 teams were taken from NA, SA, EU and Asia, and the team highest in VRS from each of those regions received an invite. In EU, Falcons were 1 point above MOUZ. hltv.org/valve-ranking/teams/2025/octobe.. Falcons accepted the invite, which means the EU wildcard spot went to Falcons. If one of the top 4 teams or Falcons had rejected the invite, MOUZ would be playing at this event. If G2 had not fumbled in EPL stage 1, they would have received the invite instead of Falcons.
