CT dominance gives Vitality EPL semi-final spot over FURIA

apEX's troops had a combined 24-8 score on their three CT sides.

Vitality became the final semifinalist at ESL Pro League S22 after defeating FURIA with a 2-1 scoreline (Overpass 9-13, Inferno 13-7, Nuke 13-7).

Mathieu "⁠ZywOo⁠" Herbaut and company will now play against FaZe on Saturday after Finn "⁠karrigan⁠" Andersen's troops kept their last dance with Håvard "⁠rain⁠" Nygaard going a while longer with a win over Spirit.

The series began on FURIA's choice of Overpass, where Danil "⁠molodoy⁠" Golubenko's 1vs2 proved crucial in keeping his team in the game, which allowed them to go into their CT side 5-7 down.

On the defensive side, however, the Kazakh AWPer and Mareks "⁠YEKINDAR⁠" Gaļinskis locked down the A site and helped Gabriel "⁠FalleN⁠" Toledo's troops sail to a 13-9 victory by losing just two rounds in the second half.

Inferno was up next, and the map was once again decided by an imperious CT side, this time by Vitality. Dan "⁠apEX⁠" Madesclaire's troops won out the forcebuy wars early on, which resulted in a 6-6 half, before they won seven out of eight rounds to force the Nuke decider.

The final map proved to be the most one-sided one, as Vitality shut down everything FURIA had to offer to put up a 10-2 CT half that eventually turned into a 13-7 victory.
