latto: "I know I am going forward in the steps of my career"
The CAC MVP spoke about the resilience need for Legacy to come back from map deficits throughout the event.

Legacy entered the CS Asia Championships far from being favorites, but the Brazilian side quickly went on an impressive run through the group stage, besting Virtus.pro and 3DMAX before narrowly falling to Liquid to wind up in the quarter-finals.
Legacy's fortunes continued into playoffs, as they battled past FUT and HEROIC to secure their rematch against 3DMAX in the best-of-five grand final. After a grueling series that required all five maps, Lucas "lux" Meneghini's men ultimately came out on top, securing the team's first-ever international LAN trophy.

After his team's monumental victory, tournament MVP Bruno "latto" Rebelatto sat down with HLTV to discuss the feeling of earning his career-first MVP, the difficult best-of-five final against 3DMAX, and the importance of this result as PGL Masters Bucharest and the StarLadder Budapest Major loom.

This interview was conducted with the assistance of a Portuguese-speaking translator.
Champion of CAC 2025, your first international LAN win, and your career-first MVP. How are you feeling right now?
I'm feeling amazing, because it was a very difficult tournament for us. We started very well, but every match we lost the first map, and we did a comeback. For me, it's amazing to be here in China, the crowd was very good with us. To win our first tournament and be MVP, it's very good, because I know I am going forward in the steps of my career. I am very happy.
You guys had so many hard maps throughout this event, including in the final. How did you manage to keep pushing forward and overcoming these hurdles?
Every map we lost, we talked backstage and we started a conversation to improve our game more, and reset the mentality. I think that's it; we only looked forward to the next map. Then, in the break we start to prepare the other map with the things that we already have in our stratbook.
We're showing that we have a lot of good players and talent in Brazil
In the final it seemed extra hard, because you lost Dust2 and Inferno, which you won the first time you played 3DMAX in the group stage. Did it feel concerning that you weren't able to repeat your successes on these maps?
We lost our favorite maps, the maps that we're stronger on and the ones we've played more times. But, we practiced other maps a lot, especially Train, so I think that was very good to put in practice. I think that 3DMAX didn't expect that we overplayed against them.
There's a little bit of concern, because we need to work again on some things about the maps that we lost, but in general, we thought that it was very possible to make the victory.
Some Brazilian teams have been moving to international players, like FURIA and MIBR. Does it feel rewarding to get this win with a fully Brazilian lineup?
Yes. I think it's a very big achievement, because we are all Brazilians. FURIA won other tournaments, but they have two guys that are not Brazilian. Us, with six Brazilians, it's very good. We're showing that we have a lot of good players and talent in Brazil, and winning this trophy with the all-Brazilian team is very good because of this.
Outside the server, we were not the best teammates that we were at the [Austin] Major
Before this event, your last strong result was in Austin, and it has otherwise been a hard season. I know you have more left to do this season, but with this win, are you able to say that this season has been a success, or do the hard results outweigh it?
As lux said in interviews before, since the Major, we are pushing very hard inside the team, and some things didn't work out. This is between the Austin Major and until now. Between that, at FISSURE, EPL, we talked a lot. Outside the server, we were not the best teammates that we were at the Major. Then, with all the work that we had with the tech, with the psychologist, the organization, and everything, we found a way to connect the team again.
Especially with coming to CAC and winning the tournament, I think that we improved a lot. We are in a right way to hide for a little bit the problems that we have, fix the problems for everyone, and start a new phase, starting from zero and going to the next tournaments with another mentality. We made a reset, something like that.
Next, you have Bucharest, and you won't have a whole lot of time to fix these mistakes before then. How does this win affect your goals for Bucharest?
I think we need to look into every match. With this win, we have a lot of confidence, and I think we can do some damage in Bucharest. Let's go!
In the Major too?
Yes! We start in Stage One, let's do the same! (laughs)
