controlez to stand in for The MongolZ at IEM Chengdu

The Mongolian squad has found a replacement for the recently benched Senzu.

The MongolZ has announced that Unudelger "⁠controlez⁠" Baasanjargal will stand in for the team at IEM Chengdu, which will be taking place on November 3-9.

The announcement comes after the shocking news of the benching of Azbayar "⁠Senzu⁠" Munkhbold, the first roster change for The MongolZ in over two years and the removal of the team's star player from the starting five.

controlez was most recently playing for Chinggis Warriors, who just announced changes of their own, where he posted a 1.06 rating since joining in November 2024.

The decision to bring on a veteran was "due to insufficient time to fully assess the academy team’s players," The MongolZ's statement reads. "The decision was made to field an experienced player, taking into account the input of the main team’s players."

The 28-year-old is a known quantity for the leadership in The MongolZ, having played briefly with Garidmagnai "⁠bLitz⁠" Byambasuren, in 2020, under the Checkmate banner, and in a short stint with The MongolZ back in 2017 alongside current MongolZ coach Erdenedalai "⁠maaRaa⁠" Bayanbat, including a run at the WESG 2017 East Asia qualifier.

What are you talking about? It's a lot of experience. He played in almost 100 games against top-50 teams. Even if he only played against random top 100+ teams, being in the Spirit Academy system would still provide significantly more experience compared to random Faceit pugs in NA. Honestly, even laxiee would be a better option than nocries.
