saadzin: "I just want to win, I don’t want to have the best stats in the game"
The Brazilian AWPer is only focused on the match score, despite his great form in Bucharest.

Guilherme "saadzin" Pacheco may be on a 1.29 rating after two matches at PGL Masters Bucharest but Legacy's AWPer insists that his only focus is winning matches.
"I don’t care about stats. I’m just thinking, 'If you get 13 rounds, that’s it'" he told HLTV in Romania. "And this mindset is why the team is going forward and why we played better today."

The Brazilian sniper has come under critcism for failing to put up elite fragging numbers, but with Legacy set up to get the best out of rifler duo Eduardo "dumau" Wolkmer and Bruno "latto" Rebelatto, saadzin is happy within his role.
"When you join a team and you are young, you just think about stats, you know? Just thinking about getting 30 kills per game. But I’ve grown up alongside the guys and l’ve learned a lot with them. Today, on the team, I know that I don’t need to just play for myself, I can play for them."
But regardless of his attitude, it is only a positive for Legacy when saadzin is stepping up individually. And he has continued to, with a 1.54 rating against Gentle Mates to put Legacy into the 1-1 pool as they look to build on their win at CS Asia Championships.
Listen to the interview here.
Congratulations on getting your first win here at the PGL Masters Bucharest 2025. You got your revenge against the Gentle Mates for the loss at ESL Pro League Season 22, and it was a very tight game towards the end, regardless of the 9-3 lead you had on the second map — you still had to fight to close it out in overtime. How do you feel about what happened?
We like the emotions, it’s not easy, it’s always very hard. But, as you said, it was our revenge, it’s always a great match against the Gentle Mates, so it feels very good. Now we are 1-1 against them, so yeah — let’s fucking go.
Is it concerning that you guys could not close out the 9-3 lead on Inferno in regulation? Is there some negativity, something you wish you could’ve done differently in order to have an easier end to the game?
Sure, yeah. When you win many rounds in this game, you need to fight against yourself to stay focused. I got a little bit unfocused in the second half, but I tried to reset. I used one of the techniques we learned from our psychologist to refocus and lock in. It was very tough, but we were able to finish the map.

Regardless of the 9-3 lead mishap, the team looked much better in comparison to the Liquid game yesterday. What were the things that led to the loss yesterday? Was it the travel from China, the intense schedule, or something else, and did you use that game as a cold shower, a wake-up call?
Yeah, I think it was a bit of what you said. We had a good conversation after the game with the coach and discussed preparation. Before the game against Liquid, we had good preparation, but we played badly and didn’t use it well. Against Gentle Mates, we talked before the game like, ‘Guys, let’s focus on the preparation and make things work, you know?’ I think the difference between the game against Liquid and today was the preparation — we used it better today.
You played great today, especially on Inferno. Tell us a little bit more about your evolution as an AWPer within the team. When you were just joining the team, you were a very aggressive player on both sides, but now it feels like that has changed and you are giving more space to the rifles. Does it feel like that from your perspective?
Yeah. When you join a team and you are young, you just think about stats, you know? Just thinking about getting 30 kills per game. But I’ve grown up with the guys and l’ve learned a lot with them. Today, in the team, I know that I don’t need to play only for myself, I can play for them — It’s like you said. I always try to push my guys to do their best, you know? And when you have incredible individuals on the team, you have to do that. Something I’m doing very well is pushing my teammates.
On Inferno, for example, dumau is always the entry fragger, so I’m always dropping him an AK-47 and go with a bad gun, because I believe in him. And I know that when I do this, I’m pushing him to do his best. I don’t care about stats. I’m just thinking, 'If you get 13 rounds, that’s it,' you know? I just want to win, I don’t want to have the best stats in the game. And this mindset is why the team is going forward, growing so fast, and why we played better today.
You have been playing a lot of events and traveling a lot. How are you managing that? Do you feel a bit tired? Do you feel like you are still able to reflect and fix some of the mistakes?
I’m too young [laughs]. So for me, that’s the best thing that could possibly happen. If we have to play 10 events in a row, I would like that. Actually, I do miss my family a lot, that’s true. But I think people understand that, when you are young, you just want to play and do your thing. So if we have even more events, I don’t care, I just want to play.
You are coming into this event on the back of a win at CAC 2025 - the biggest result in Legacy’s history. Do you feel like more of a favourite now and do you believe that you can win another tournament here?
I think Counter-Strike, at this time, is very stacked. All teams are playing very well. We don’t have, at this tournament, a team that is much better than others. Maybe Aurora, they are a good one.
But I don’t want to think about any of this. I want to just approach it game by game, like we did in China. In China we did not think about that, we were just going from game one, to game two. This is the good way to get to the Final and get a title, just play the game and don’t think about the future too much. Just think about the present.
