starix Best Player, fRoD Best AWP

Natus Vincere's Sergey "starix" Ischuk received the Best Player award, while EG's Danny "fRoD" Montaner is the Best AWP of Arbalet Cup Dallas 2010.

The organizers of Arbalet Cup Dallas 2010 have awarded the Ukrainian player Sergey "starix" Ischuk from the winning team Na´Vi the trophy for Best Player of the tournament.

Ischuk was rarely the first star of his team in previous events, but in this one he clearly stood out as he displayed amazing performances throughout the entire tournament, starting from the first group stage all the way to the Grand Final recording an incredible 0.93 kills per round. Perhaps his most notable performance was in the double overtime match against mTw where he carried his team and kept them in the game in several occasions.

The Best AWP award was given to home player Danny "fRoD" Montaner from Evil Geniuses as he collected the event highest 100 awp kills which was instrumental in helping his team reach the 3rd place.

Yeah, starix has always been able to awp well, but since Navi really broke through markeloff has been the main awper. Its always nice having a team with 2 really good awpers. Starix was doing very (technically) *easy* in some sense, he wasnt trying any of markeloffs cunningness, but it worked out 100% for them. This changeup to starix awping really screwed up my dreamteam x/

Yes fanboys from Portugal are the worst for one simple reason: their teams NEVER won anything. FX, mibr, Na'Vi, all them won some tournaments, and FG at least beat that crazy fnatic (f0rest-Gux-GTR), but the only good things portuguese teams do is go through the 1st group stage (rarely). If you had watched any of the matches you'd have seen that fRoD did very well with the awp in this tournament. The "best awp" award doesn't go to who the best awper is overall, but who used it the most/most effectively in this ONE tournament. Starix is so underrated, he's a monster.

To tell you the truth - i watched most of the games live.. including a lot of EG games, and I must say that frod had pretty amazing deag and awp shots.. hes made tons of mistakes, i agree, but a lot of the shots he hit were crucial. Id have to say, that the people dragging eg down are gfn and storm.. if they added pauly for storm and dboorn for gfn - theyd be able to compete a lot better.

fRoD played a good tournament and I think he deserves the award because he was EG's main AWP. markeloff has to share his credit with starix because on inferno/tuscan starix clearly was NaVi's main AWP. Nevertheless I think markeloff & Delpan are overall the worlds best AWP players at the moment, but in this specific tourney fRoD really deserved the trophy.

Starix was redonculous, if he used awp throughout the tournament I think he would have won both awards LOL. Happy for fRoD though, he is the most consistently amazing player I have seen for a long time, I saw GeT_RiGhT go 0-15 on nuke, I have never seen fRoD turn in a horrible performance yet.

Pretty sure if the United States held 90% of the "International" tournaments like Europe they'd be able to 1. Attend them 2. Get more experience 3. Practice daily against the top talent. What people like you forget is that it costs a huge sum of money for us poor Americans to travel to your tiny little counties across the ocean. We don't have as strong of a gaming scene as other regions of the world because we have VAST distances to cross. I mean France to Germany is like the size of Texas only. Don't want to seem rude but I think it is ignorant to state something so out of place without looking at all the factors. Also: Imagine if Firegamers or MIBR had the opportunity to make it to all the international events...I'm sure they'd be a top team consistently instead of once in a blue moon. They are almost in the same boat as us americans..only they have even less money and support than we do.

there are no words to describe starix' performance this tournament. the fact that he singlehandedly decided a lot of rounds is undeniable. A lot of the time he was the first man to go in and get 2 or 3 entry kills. There were rounds where only starix had an AK and he had 3k and 4k those rounds. It was amazing to see. On tuscan vs mtw starix played THE most important role in securing the victory, the ninja entry into the site and everything.. i could go on for hours and hours, but in a nutshell - the trophies are well deserved!

i dont understand why people are saying that fr0d being best awper of the tournament is a joke, he got plentiful of good frags with his awp despite some disappointing games, and arbalet gave him this according to the stats which never lie. u guys say that markeloff deserves this more than fr0d cause he has better skill with the gun, but he just didnt show that enough, at least in the tournament, so he couldnt get the award at all. prizes arent given for how peo ple are expected to perform but for how they actually perform, or else delpan and fnatic should have grabbed all the trophy even when they didnt attend.

Very entertaining to read all these comments about how fRoD doesn't deserve this. He was one of the best awpers before most of u even knew about CS.. Markeloff, Delpan (imo also BARBARR) and other guys that everyone knows are ofcourse awesome with awp, possibly even better than fRoD. So it's great to see that an old awp-legend (damn I'd like to see shaGuar and Method back in action) is still able to play on the top and has been awarded with this prize. He isn't probably the best in the world, but he was BEST IN THE TOURNAMENT and that doesn't make him to be THE BEST AWPER IN THE WORLD. I think that EG really deserved the 3rd place.
