DuskBin win WCG Hong Kong

DuskBin have secured access to the World Cyber Games 2010 Grand Finals after claiming first place in the Hong Kong qualifier.

Chinese side DuskBin have not made a notable appearance since the IEM4 Asian Championship Finals, where team was shown the exit after a tight loss towards UMX in the group stage.

The team was however back to claim top spot in the WCG Hong Kong qualifier last weekend, overcoming inFragzion and earning $1,286 in the process.

WCG Hong Kong 2010 final standings:

1. Hong Kong DuskBin - $1,286
2. Hong Kong inFragzion
3. Hong Kong 2010

HongKong has a better economy than Portugal, so why are whining about? Based on what are you crying a river here? Just because Portugal is in Europe it doesn't make it more special than HK :)

To answer the question of "why your country doesn't have a qualifier": 1. First of all, it has nothing to do with the quality of one country compare to others. 2. It depends on the local organization who has been assigned by WCG. 3. Concerning the games should they send to the Grand Final, your local organization picks them, not the WCG itself. 4. Lastly, it depends on the budget & sponsors, one country has more budget than the others so they send more participants than the other, for example South Korea or USA. For this year WCG, the transportation cost to USA (which is quite expensive for some countries) might be the reason of why they send less representatives. 5. I'm not trying to be smart. I'm just want to clear the 'negative' air here towards HK.

You do realise WCG is probably the worst event for a progamer to play at. It is all based around the sponsors and never meet the gamers needs. This is why gamers always preferred ESWC and now probably IEM Global or Arbalet. Samsung owns the WorldCyberGames. So if Samsung is big in your country and they think their is money to be made, you will get a WCG qualifier. This is why WCG always has a lot of Asian teams China, Singapore, Taiwan, HongKong, Korea, Australia, New Zealand (not all play 1.6)
