DSRack LAN #3 with €76,200

DSRack LAN #3 has been announced with an astonishing prize purse of €70,000, seeing €25,000 in Counter-Strike 1.6 alone.

The event will take place in Denmark's capital, Copenhagen, at the Kroeger's House, 18-24 October, which involves a total areal of over 1,000 square meters. The organizers have moved it to a new location, not surprisingly as the prize purses are sure to attract hundreds.

A grand and staggering prize purse of €70,000 has been announced to go with it, whereof €25,000 will be handed out in Counter-Strike 1.6, if the tournaments are filled up with enough teams.

Game genres and prizes:

Counter-Strike 1.6 - €25,000
Counter-Strike: Source - €25,000
Call of Duty 4 - €20,000
StarCraft II - €5,000
Heroes of Newerth/DotA - €1,000
Bowling - €200

Regarding Counter-Strike 1.6, there will be two tournaments. First out is a Bring Your Own Computer (BYOC) competition which will see 32 teams, followed by a 64-teams invite tournament. The latter means that the teams do not have to bring their own computers.

Moreover, HLTV.org has received information that teams such as Power Gaming, Meet Your Makers and Playzone.fi have been asked over for the invite tournament, and that there are more to come.

Stay tuned to HLTV.org as we'll keep you posted as more teams are penned down on the invitation list.

As I said bellow, I'm not a CSS'er, far away for that actually, but the game has been becoming better and better with those updates, you gotta admit that. CS:S isn't that bad game at all, yes, CS is better, but comparing to other games that get a huge prize pot, CS:S is a good bet as they have a big scene, to be honest I don't doubt that they will fill up the 64 teams to get the 25k prize pot. Also, the CS:S scene is Denmark is huge.

Better with the updates? You gotta be kidding. Valve is doing nothing but ruining their games, this happened to source and almost to 1.6, thankfully they realized to remove all the shit they came up with.

Well I started playing source back in 2005 and it was a lot better then. The new crouch-system sucks balls, the new radar is ok but the old one is preferable. And now some freaking achievements? This is not tf2 ffs.

because esports sponsors are the same in 1.6 and css, so the more attention and attenders, the more gain for them. Quite simple. And then, sad as it is, denmark is a big css country ;)

I'm a Dane? all prize money on tournament in Denmark are showing you, CS1.6 is still best and most proffessional... But CS-source had more players than CS1.6 but they are almost 10-15 years old, they are not joining our comminity or something.. so CS1.6 is still largest comminity and most proffessional.

Scrap the 25k tournament for CS:S and put up a 30k pile for the Starcraft 2 tournament instead so we get to see some big names. CS:S is just a playground for 1.6 rejects anyway.

If you want to show how moronic a large part of the users on HLTV.org is, simply put CS:S in a news post. Seriously, rejoice over the fact that there'll be another great CS 1.6 tournament with a large pirzepool instead of whining about CS:S. Can't be that much fun acting like a spoiled 5 year old, can it? inb4 lolol CSS fanboy xD

I love this! A lot of great games with nice prizes. The 1.6 is well close to the usual ammount of winning prizes in 1.6? CS:S prize is huuuge for Source, gotta love that! And with e nice CoD4 compo aswell, it's just crazy times in denmark! People who complain about the bowling tourney, please be quiet, it's about "bonding" and having fun. No need to rage over it, it's probably just a random sponsor for it anyways = )

Cool the 1.6 community all here raging about source :) "wow 25k for source amazing"...I see u dont remember CGS when we had a MILLION prize money. I was sure that every 1.6 fanboy was going to get here and post -source +1.6 ...usual...but u should check some CSS news website too like www.cadred.org . cumps and gl to both games.

close minded yes, but not even good i cant say anything on that since i dont play against other users of hltv that I know of exept some brasilians, but many top players hang around here under hidden nicks, or some even use real nicks like Getrigth,Delpan, lurpiss etc

i didn't know that. but IMO 1.6 is much more popular then source , and its harder to become a cs1.6 pro then source.. so the price for 1.6 should be higher. but I'm not asked for anything here :p

Your opinion about what's most popular is completely irrelevant, when CS:S in fact IS more popular in Denmark.

they should remove 10k from css to starcraft 2 ...its a shame css gets the same prize as cs 1.6 :/ i see css as more of a recreational game ....like if ur 1.6team doesnt have any current events u could always join a source event for the money :/
