WeMade FOX to lose home

The WeMade FOX Counter-Strike team are currently looking for a new organisation to represent, HLTV.org understands.

The decision comes less than two months after the South Korean side picked up the World e-Sports Masters trophy, their first ever international title.

WeMade FOX have dropped their support of the CS team, which will leave the players without an organisation on 8 January.

The former project_kr team have been on the ranks of WeMade FOX since joining from e-STRO in January 2009.

Under the WMF banner, they finished runners-up at e-Stars in 2009 and 2010, GameGune Mexico and DTS-Cup before claiming the WEM crown in Hangzhou.

Any organisation willing to house the Korean team can make an approach by contacting CAN Yang at [email protected].

WeMade FOX had the following CS team:

Yeah, eSPORT is the 2nd biggest sport in Korea, not just SC, they got all kinds of fighting games and so on. And they have plans to build special venues just for gaming. It's SICK :P

cross fire was a dumped shit online-game in korea, but as they go to China, it became the most popular fps game in china. that's a wierd thing though.

that will be the final nail in the coffin for korean cs. it's very sad I was looking forward to seeing them playing really well this year but without the backing of a large org like wemade which is able to house them and financially support their training it wont be possible to keep up with the euro teams.

Past few years people have always talked about Euros dominating the scene EXCEPT when they are in Asia. Asian teams are the most unpredictable and exciting... Now WMF without a home and I think i remember Tyloo kicking out one of their teams, this is getting bad.

I think so too. There is video in youtube where i think fragbite (?) was in their apartment. Every player there has very good conditions to play. They can concentrate on game.

firstly, CS here in Korea is not big at all, definitely one of the most least played games here. furthermore, their contract is due to end and WMF probably didn't see it as a viable option to fund a CS team when SC2 is slowly picking up here in Korea... and to allocate resources for a 5 man team in order to gain exposure can be accomplished the same way with just 1 great player instead.

It's very unlikely that they are able to find a team which is able to send them overseas as much as wemade did. We made without a doubt was the richest organisation in the last 2 years of esports in korea, purchasing nada for starcraft and moon for warcraft (both on insane salaries). I do hope that they find a new organisation, but I think it's very doubtful, cs just doesn't draw anywhere near the international audiance of the rts based games and requires so much more financial input due to using a 5 players team. The chinese government have picked up wc3 so it's life is secure, sc2 is being run by sony... cs however is just running out of options. People who think another org will pick them up quickly think again, they left e-stro because it didn't have the financial ability to send them to europe to compete often. Lunatic-hai were only able to attend 2 events due to their lack of sponsorship. So this leaves who? SK telecom lol? Amazing team sad to see them die out like this.

yea that's why they beat fnatic and sk recently in bo3's? my god how can people actually enjoy giving a team this much shit. The old estro incident with mym is no worse than what sk and other teams have done in their past aswell. But people hold onto it still, how many years has it been now? not really, it was pushed through by the teams management and it wasn't even wmf it was estro. Only two members of that team even play, there have been incidents a lot worse than that in regards to foul play so get off your high horse. I mean we have tournaments that don't pay out thousands of dollars, teams stabbing each other in the back over nothing. People missing their flights and acting like they're 10 years old. E-Sports doesn't have much of a reputation. In korea it's diferent, they have an actual manager who pushes through there things it's a government thing, you have to actually have a lisence to be a pro contracted player. THe mentality is completely diferent to the euro side of cs. The current team has absolutely nothing to do with what happened in E-stro but I guess a bunch of xenophobic euro's just can't get over anything. Well I guess there is more chance of them finding a new sponsore than the UK ever producing a decent team again.

They will never find another sponsor with the money to fly them to major events outside of Asia...they will prob just sign to a small org and become like TitaNs and TyLoo attending just a few international events per year as with the local ones, sad but its reality, they are one of the best teams in CS if you count all their history they are just living in the wrong continent for CS. I will miss glow's incredible one shots :( one of the most exciting teams to watch player way more than most Euro teams. A lot of people dont understand that Asian teams mostly WMF/TyLoo come up with almost every single new tactic that all the big Euro team's steal from they are so innovative....anyone who says they suck is clearly retarded and has no concept of this games history.
