k1ck win PGS 2010 Finals
k1ck eSports Club have been crowned champions of the 2010 Pro Gamer Series Finals with a 2-0 victory over Guimaform.
The Portuguese giants had quite an easy task in the final to get their hands on the crown, but the score does not show how hard their route was at times.
In the semi-finals, k1ck were made to work hard to win the match against Paranoids, losing de_inferno 16-13 after being up 1-0 with a 16-6 success on de_train. The final map, de_nuke, went to overtime, but k1ck managed a 19-17 victory to progress to the final.
The PGS 2010 finals, which took place at the Guimaform LAN center in Guimarães, gathered 29 teams from across the country, who battled it out for over €3,500 in cash prizes.
In the 3rd/4th place decider, Paranoids overcame SKILLEDAMN! 2-0 to pick up the €500 prize. Defining Stars, who feature two former k1ck players, did not fare better than a seventh-place finish.
