DreamHack with €170,000 in 2011
The DreamHack organisation has announced that the 2011 season will feature a staggering prize purse of more than €170,000.
The exact distribution of this figure among the season's events and the official games has not yet been revealed, though.
2011 sees DreamHack breaking the one million mark in prize money, with 1,5m SEK up for grabs in the multiple events which will be held throughout the year.
"The prize purse and tournaments will reinforce yet again DreamHack’s position as one of the leading eSports events worldwide," said DreamHack CEO Robert Ohlén.
"This year we will intensify our work around eSports, hold more qualifiers and focus on an even greater World Finals at DreamHack Winter in November."
DreamHack Summer, the next event in the calendar, will take place from 18-21 June, while the winter edition is scheduled for 24-27 November.
Meanwhile, the DreamHack chiefs have announced that the first official games will be unveiled at Inferno Online this afternoon. You can follow this presentation at 18.00 CET via stream.
