Lions have announced their in-game leader Björn "threat" Pers will be stepping down for a short period, due to a busy schedule at his school.

Ahead of the Swedish WCG qualifier, Lions have announced changes in the team, as Björn "threat" Pers will step down due to obligations at his school, disallowing him to participate in the WCG qualifier May 28 at Inferno Online in Stockholm.

Pers will however not be gone for long, as he is expected to step back in after the WCG qualifier. While gone, his in-game leader role will be taken on by Emil "FYRR73" Karlsson.

Filling the void of Pers for the WCG qualifier and becoming a sixth Lions member is the now former a2g member André "keiz" Carlsson. According to Lions, the opportunity to add a sixth member came as the organization landed a sponsorship with Taiwanese-based In-Win, manufacturer of computer chassis, power supplies and more.

"We all felt that we needed an aimer and a guy that could motivate us to keep fighting. André was a natural choice for us; he’s a guy that can win rounds all on his own. We are really happy to have him in the team. On the other hand it’s sad that Björn can’t attend the WCG qualifier with us, but he’s still an important part of our team" - Reads a statement by Emil "FYRR73" Karlsson.

School forces threat to sit out the WCG qualifier

Lions now have the following team:

Niklas "niko" Johansson
Rasmus "Gux" Ståhl
Frej "kHRYSTAL" Sjöström
Emil "FYRR73" Karlsson
André "keiz" Carlsson

Björn "threat" Pers (inactive)

How the six man roster will pan out after the WCG qualifier and when Pers returns is yet to be seen, a fact is that one has to keep the seat warm on the bench, when housing a six man roster.

With Carlsson out of a2g, the Swedish team is set to find a replacement in a hurry, as they are signed up for fnatic PLAY next week, but also set to attend ASUS Spring later this month in Kiev, Ukraine.

Keiz is an ass ! 2ag are as good as Lions, and he only left 2ag for Lions, coz Lions got bigger names on there teams. So I belive Keiz is a quitter, he cant be on a team, who have to be builed up. And it's bad for the cs scene.

Of course I am not superman and only express my opinion. I believe that threat is the weakest link in the team and because of their poor performance lately they need a boost in terms of new fresh blood like keiz. If keiz will prove himself, I don't think they will kick him when threat will be back...

Btw, I think Lions wont last for long. Now Sk got a SUPER Line up, and fnatic, has been very good to, Are Lions falling behind them, and have lost all matches to them the last to tour as I remember. We haven't heard anything from them l8ly, and I dont think it's a good sign :/

probably only manne and moddhi in sweden, maybe barbarr, outside of the top2 teams(SK and fnatic will not let their star players go to lions ofc) or snajdan/pronax would have been a good option to freshen up/change their tactics, and allow fyrr73 to focus on his role/not lose fragging power

It's really hard to say. But if niko could turn down fnatic for LIONS, that's an example that friendship beats everything. Although I don't know anything about their situation and am not eligable to judge, but it does suck.

Well, I don't know either. I mean.. I wouldn't turn down an offer like this, unless they were irl mates or people I had played with for lots and lots of years. Salary and sponsored trips > inet friends that come and go But it obviously depends on the situation, like you said.

You can't judge keiz, he's now having a huge opportunity to shine and develop, and he's taking it. For the moment, Lions is the best option for keiz, since he's probably not going to be picked by SK/fnatic (yet..)

i think it's the right decision. the team hasnt performed the way they used to and it really feels like they've been missing another crazy aimer at Gux's side. also it's good that FYRR73 picks up the IGL role, dunno how good he is in it but at least now he can contribute at least something to the team ingame. though personally i would have preferred manne over keiz but from what ive heard keiz is actually a better teamplayer, even though it might not look that way, so it's probably the better choice if he's just mature enough and fit in socially with the rest of the team. gl

SK played twice with fnatic this year so far and both times won. fnatic won IEM5 European, but they sucked in other tournaments. they placed both 5-8th in CPH GAMES and IEM5 World. SK placed 2nd at CPH Games and 4th at IEM5 World. And yea, SK place 7-8th at IEM5 European. *Anyway, i think top5 so far this year after 3 big tournaments (IEM5 European, IEM5 World, Copenhagen Games): 1. Na`Vi 2. Frag eXecutors 3-4. Now that I have come to think about it FYRR73 is the best choice as IGL because hes arguably the least skilled in this team (like SK|RobbaN or FX kuben) so its not really going to waste his talent if he has to lead aswell as frag.

a2g have nothing on LIONS, sorry for those threads.. Maybe they will in the future but not anytime soon. Players like niko and gux up there with some of the best swe players. Also keiz > THREAT? that is true if you look at it aim wise.. but supporting a team, being a captain and having a brain THREAT is the man
