OK bow out of ICSC 8, paistit replace

Online Kingdom will not continue their campaign in the Intel Challenge Super Cup 8, bowing out of the league and have given their spot to another Finnish team.

It's the second team of the day who inform about their withdrawal from ICSC 8. Russian team USSR earlier today announced they had withdrawn from the league and news has just ticked in, that Finnish team Online Kingdom has also quit the league.

Reports suggest that Online Kingdom has come to an end, but Joni "Freon" Huumo has informed HLTV.org that Jirka "jigetus" Ryhti is still in civilian service camp, making the team unable to practice.

"There's no point playing ICSC if we can't pracc" Huumo added.

Being unable to participate, Online Kingdom decided to pass their ICSC spot to another Finnish team, going by the name paistit. The team contains Kimmo "BASiC" Fagerholm, who supposedly is no longer a member of Online Kingdom.

The team also includes the Kovanen brothers – Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen and Niko "naSu" Kovanen – as well as Samu "plastE" Aalto. The last member is Timi "aslak" Verkkoperä, who has left Excello to give it a go with paistit.

paistit consist of:

Finland Timi "aslak" Verkkoperä
Finland Kimmo "BASiC" Fagerholm
Finland Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen
Finland Niko "naSu" Kovanen
Finland Samu "plastE" Aalto

HLTV.org tried to reach paistit for a comment, but the members were not reachable.

With Online Kingdom out and paistit in, Group D consist of Frag eXecutors, DTS, Moscow Five and paistit. The Finn's are expected to play their first match against Frag eXecutors on Sunday.

How is that their fault? They invited teams to play at their tournament, to compete, get a slot at the LAN finals and win cash prizes. It's not their fault, that the german teams couldn't play, because they had exams or OK has problems with players, who can't practice. Every team always have problems etc, but the thing is, if the team really wants to play somewhere or do something, they will find a way. My guess, Freon was sick of the line-up changes and like he said, his team couldn't practice. As chrisJ mentioned, ICSC should ban the teams, who drop out of the tournament, because of reasons like that. And I'm sure, some teams and players had exams and practice issues too etc, but they didn't drop out. Props to them!

Yeah well, after that OK have beaten mTw on lan, which is a sign of improvement. Of course it's just one random match, but they also have played much much more lately than you. I haven't see any stuff from you guys for 3 months so thats my point of view at the moment. Also its useless to talk about OK or PwR right now since another is dead and another incomplete(or dead). Correct me if im wrong...

seeing as we beat them without any practice 3 months ago simply by individual play, i have a hard time seeing them improve enough in 3 months to be better than us individually. if they were on our level, considering they had been a team that practices etc for a while, they should beat five inactive players easily. ok did beat mtw, but it was the last match of the group with barely any meaning to mtw, kind of like mtw's loss against col at iem wc; just an almost meaningless match to them so knowing mtw obviously they're not really into it. i talked about pwr/ok 3 months ago with an obvious relation to today as pointed out in the first paragraph, not about either team today

the only way not to expect too much from this team is by not expecting anything at all. these guys have a history to overestimate themselves and underestimating the essence of practice. I don't expect this team to practice as much as other teams and with the most washed up player of all time (lurppis) I think they will not do much damage despite actually having some decent players.

Why would aslak leave excello if this is just a mix? I also sure that players like lurppis, nasu and plaste have enough knowledge to know that without any practice they would just get raped @ groupstage2 and Im sure they dont think that losing is fun.

there a reason why they played only 10 matches........maybe because it wasn't working like everybody thought it would. -_- maybe lurppis found out the talent in finland wasn't as great as he thought it was. maybe he realized now, that his best chance for winning a big international event, was when he was in EG and that's all gone now. he had his chance, now it's all over for lurppis as his chance for winning something big with finland is 0%.

i said i was done playing but natu & co really wanted to play with me so we attended one event with little practice (asus winter) and got raped, then won digifest with the old roccat team (without practice). i haven't played cs since march until earlier today and i think my total hours since last esea finals (november 2010) are like 100h. ps. feel free to look at frag averages in eg, pretty sure i was among the top3 at most tournies eg on the other hand makes a living off of cs, bootcamped before iem and placed 9-10th, which i might add was significantly worse than what we placed the previous year. i actually still talk to majority of the eg players (including drew) so that isn't meant towards them, shit happens in cs and everyone involved knows that, unlike you :) //thread

"maybe he realized now, that his best chance for winning a big international event, was when he was in EG and that's all gone now." T_T I didn't really watch many games when lurpporsh played in EG, but atleast before that they sucked major a$$. Some of their players just weren't the same invidiually after all that source bullshit. : ) On the other hand, the guys in roccat/N69-E28 were invidually just damn crazy back in '06 and '07, and still are pretty good. They just didn't have enough discipline to win or something. : ) T_T

jigetus is still in civilian service camp, so yes its most likely the best line-up they can come up with atm...

the teams placing 3rd in the first groupstage should get the places when teams drop out, imo..

"Reports suggest that Online Kingdom has come to an end, but Joni "Freon" Huumo has informed HLTV.org that Jirka "jigetus" Ryhti is still in civilian service camp, making the team unable to practice." why dont you read the article and not just the line-up...
