e-Stars vote halfway through

The community vote for the upcoming e-Stars 2011 MSI Beat IT Championship is halfway to conclusion, having gathered over two million votes.

The South Korean event, which will run between August 19-21 and feature a total of 16 teams in the Counter-Strike competition, will hand out the staggering amount of €47,000.

The community vote, which the organizers will use to account for 50 percent of the selection, has now reached its midpoint, with over 2,2 million votes having been sent in.

Out of 17 teams in the pool from Europe, only six sides will come out as the lucky ones, with SK Gaming currently in the lead, closely followed by fnatic and Natus Vincere.

The European pick have more teams to choose compared to The American pick. So every European team together got more votes in total than the American total. So cuz you have less teams to choose between it will be more votes in total on every team. Got it? :)

Wouldn't celebrate too much if I were you, the fact that Wild Ineters got a ton of votes doesn't mean a thing, community votes only count 50%, the rest is decided by achievements/fame etc which belongs to the e-Stars organization. This has happened in the past, last year the community choose: mousesports fnatic UNiTED But the invited teams were: fnatic Na´Vi Frag eXecutors I doubt that the e-Stars committee will dump FG or EG for Wildi.

I don't, I was just expressing my point of view as a spectator, that it's more interesting to watch EG and FG than Wildi. I don't doubt that Wildi are a good team ,but, probably because of the geographical position or the lack of funds they are always missing on the "CS world map", we rarely have news about them, I don't think that they've earn enough respect (CS wise) to go on a tournament instead of EG or FG. It's good to see that the Argentinian community believes in them giving them over 100 thousand votes (let's pretend that they are all valid :p) In my opinion the Wildi fans should do like a fund raise, so that they can earn some money to attend to more international events to show the world that they are as good as the community tries to show us and by doing that next year they will have my vote :)

I am a bit disappointed in the Russian scene. Many Russians either like Virtus.pro or M5 and will not vote for both teams. Especially after the controversy when xek was removed from M5 and later added again greatly affected the popularity of M5 in Russia. IMO you should be happy because M5 is a team with a huge amount of potential and they are by far the best team from Russia. You should start voting massively and vote every day to ensure M5 will attend e-Stars because this is going to be one of the most important events of this year (due to the high amount of prize money)

I think this poll is reflex of people's preferences.. If a country, or even many countries are voting for "X" team/teams.. it's because they really want to see that team/teams playing the e-stars :) Some said that in war and love, everything's allowed... and nobody has said anything about alliances. If Argentina has a deal with Spain or Israel to get more votes, it's totally fair: it's STRATEGY. As you can see, it's working for Wildi :)

I do not doubt about strong support but I refer to the fact that a part of their support is done through massive illegal voting. As you refer to WildIneters' facebook you would have seen that proxy links were posted there in order to enable multiple votes. Though you said you check and participate there thus I presume you already knew... Oh, and as for the Fan Center, yes, it was abused too in the past using fake accounts to increase the fans number of the Argentinian team.

ok this site was abused by the argentinians too. Well you know i feel very dissapointed at this point because everytime i vote and i go fan of some team you tell me that is fake... even on your website? About "illegal massive votes" they are not supported by the official wildi team organization can be isolated users.. u cant ban thousands because actions 1 or 2 persons i think that is not fair. Then i have to doubt about EG.. Usa community always says that they prefer cs source, then how they get so many votes on a game that they dont like?? Well you can pretend to be good with the e-seoul organization and say not to vote a team that wont go anyway, but im a real fan i care about my country people that takes a minute of his life voting for the team they like...

You seem to be still convinced that you know better than myself what I think or what I will say. I talked about massive voting and at first you told me that it was not the case or wasn't even possible. And now, fortunately, you appear to have changed your mind and are willing to accept that this is happening. Anything else is beyond my goal of trying to explain to you what is happening with the votes. As a user noted with regard to this votes cheating, for any of the teams, in the end the affected part is the voted team and thus, yes, unfortunately this very team is the one the e-Stars board have at hand in order to "punish" and not letting them attend. And if that team is not able to attend the "real fans" as you name it are affected too.

Sure that other teams may be benefiting from the same behaviour but the public light has not spotted the same proofs than in other cases.

I have never stated that I want to see another team over them. The scene needs new teams for sure. They have to make tournaments on their own, and not based on how many votes they get in some poll to get an invite to the tournament. There's plenty of tournaments globally they can attend, without having to go through a poll vote. Money is most likely the problem, as to why they can't attend tournaments, that is just the harsh reality of many teams.

im agree but sponsors dont go to your house to invite you to play a tournament, they need this shot to show their skills, Ed did it many times and fg also, and they failed vs top teams.. so why to not leave them go to test their luck, i have to say is not a personal thought. When I mentioned about WI's results, it was in terms of the e-Stars vote. I think you are missing my point here. Yes, EG and FG did show bad results previously, but they went to tournaments still, showing off the sponsors they got before going to these tournaments, which came about when dominating the domestic scene. WI should be able to do the same thing. I don't think there's any reason to keep this discussion going, I feel I've repeated myself a lot of times already.

Listen. I'm not defending anyone, but you refuse to understand the basics. There is a purpose of the poll, but as I mentioned, it counts for 50%, so even though WI will finish first, EG and FG will still have the advance in terms of past achievements. m5 should be there because they are always entertaining to watch and they can often come up with a surprise. mousesports often disappoints internationally but on an international event which already has enough scandinavian teams with SK, fnatic & mTw I'd really prefer to mousesports in stead of lions even though they will probably disappoint. the german scene is still very big and they are an entertaining team to spectate.
