fnatic drop out of ICSC 8

fnatic have pulled out of Intel Challenge Super Cup 8, as they are unable to attend the season LAN finals.

One match remains in the second group stage for ICSC 8, but it will in fact not be played. The match between fnatic and KerchNET will not be played, as the Swedes will not be able to attend the LAN finals for the eighth season of Intel Challenge Super Cup.

Patrik "cArn" Sättermon told HLTV.org the following about the situation:

"We are unable to fit the ICSC finals into our schedule, as one of our players will be on holiday during the finals. Unable to attend the finals, we will put all of our focus on GameGune."

A total of eight teams will make it to LAN finals (two from each group), but with fnatic pulling out, that leaves only KerchNET in their group, so the last spot will go to either Moscow Five or Virtus.pro (third placed in their respective groups).

It's a lame excuse. Like I said it's not hard to find a replacement. They get paid for playing CS. It's their job. They should take the time and find a stand-in, practise some, and try their best in the playoffs. What they're doing is not good for the organisation, the event, and certainly not good for CS 1.6. The teams need to respect the events we have before they're all gone. And calling me a "fanboy" was a bit uncalled for don't you think?

No, I don't think it's uncalled for. And why should they find a replacement?. They've already changed their line-up too many times. So it's fine they decided to practice. By the way, the final was re-scheduled, so it's not fnatic's fault. They do get paid of course but they have to win something and they won't achieve anything if they keep attending events in their current shape. So yeah, they decided to re-group, practice and then perform. Why is that lame?. It isn't, don't bother answering this, it's just pointless
