Second EU New York qualifier finished

The second European qualifier for IEM6 Global Challenge New York has just finished with Frag eXecutors, SK Gaming, WinFakt and Anexis all qualifying for the final qualifier next Sunday.

A total of 98 teams signed up for the qualifier, with most managing to show up on time. The event favourites were spread out throughout the bracket, so most of the big names had smooth runs through the first three rounds.

Frag eXecutors had an easy run through the bracket and even went on to defeat HRG from Moldova in the final round, the same team eliminating them in the first qualifier. Fx won the match easily 16-7 16-2 and booked a spot in the final qualifier next week.

SK had a much tougher draw to reach qualification, they came up against NOM-GAMING from Israel, Dark Passage from Turkey and finally defeating Electronic Sahara 2-0 before booking their spot in the final qualifier.

The team that has come leaps and bounds recently is WinFakt from Finland. Today proved no exception as they easily moved past Alternate 2-0 to advance to the final qualifier.

The last team to join the others in the final qualifier was the newly formed Anexis (former TCM-Gaming and notable). Anexis met ESC Gaming in their last match, with Danes getting a good start winning de_train 16-12, however ESC were able to take the second map in the second overtime 21-18. Anexis were finally able to seal the deal on de_tuscan winning 16-11.

The match between SK Gaming and Electronic Sahara, as well as Alternate and WinFakt are currently in protest, with Electronic Sahara stating SK's Marcus "Delpan" Larsson has too many config files, which is against the ESL rulebook. The protests are not expected to be resolved before Monday the earliest.

As for now, following teams are qualified for the final qualifier:

Russia Moscow Five Germany mousesports Denmark mTw Sweden Lions
Poland Frag eXecutors Sweden SK Gaming Denmark Anexis Finland WinFakt

The final qualifier will take place on Sunday, September 11 and will see three teams qualify for the IEM6 Global Challenge New York. Tune in next Sunday on HLTV.org to find out which three teams will make it to the Big Apple.

Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen Apparently aTTaX are protesting because of naSu & plastE using Lux CSDM bots which come with too many .cfg files for ESL's $500,000 anti cheat to handle... ESL rules always find a way to make things interesting, apparently SK has the same problem, we'll see how this goes... :D

I have to say it is absolutely unbelievable to see teams whine about some bots. Once again the rules are there to prevent cheating, not to let some whiners go past better teams because they don't have an ounce of sportsmanship in them. Even if it is against the rules the players should say themselves that they don't want to make a protest. Most of the players in question are way above 20, yet they act like children. Grow up.

As much as I love CS and as much as I know ESL are doing good things for the community, these qualifiers have been utterly poor and a huge mess. The entire scenario about protests, has become such a joke that it really annoys me. Say two highly ranked European teams play each other and one team wins fair and square, even the losing team would be aware of the fact that they faced a better team. But then it seriously beats me, why would you file a protest, due to too many configs (CSDM bots), just to see if you can get a rematch or default win. At the same time, ESL Wire seems not to accept more than X amount of config files. For a anticheat they claim they spent over €500,000 on, seriously, fix it already, not like ESL Wire has been a walk on roses since its launch.

This is a very common issue among teams even in other sports, except in football "diving" is excusable. In this case there's no excuse to wanting to cheap shot another team.

What? eSahara & alternate are doing a protest? When I contest the Lions default win for the Ghanzhou final qual, I learned a lot of things, and according to your analyze : hltv.org/match/1835170-lions-tcm-gaming-.. "It`s not ESL`s or Lion`s fault. The only one responsible is the guy" I guess here Delpan is the only one responsible "Yes, but I didn't cry about it, if u someone has a missing file u don't deserve to move on to the next round." I guess here SK don't deserve to move on because of too many commandmenu config. "Its common that the ESL admins are one of the dumbest so get used to it :) anyway the only one to blame here is harts" I guess the only one to blame here is Delpan Cmon Lions! Show 'em how it's done I guess a default win doesn't really matter Rules are rules, i don't see any place for discussion. I guess I finally don't see any place for discussion. ...What? It's SK? Everybody loves SK? So if It's SK, rules don't have any impact on them because of too many fans? Oh well, ok, you are nasty boys eSahara! really nasty!

Do you honestly think that the players from sk are idiots? your answer will be the same as an possible response from iorek: Not really. But why are a lot of so called "professional" gamers not able to follow such easy rules, like using wire correctly?? It's part of their job, like writing match-statements and uploading demos. Don't cry about the protest, cry about the guys who made the fault! If SK violates the rules, every team is allowed to protest. Thats it.

No I don't think that the players from SK are idiots; never said anything like that and I don't think delpan even realized that he had illegal cfg (POD bots?). I just said esahara is acting childishly, naively and that makes them look unprofessional. I have no idea even how the anti-cheat system works, never used it. But it just sucks that mediocre teams get to finals via default wins, like redbyte. They got all the way to the final via default wins and get one round in a bo3 against FX. No one wants to see those kind of matches, simillary i think esahara and attax would be out classed by the better teams, like FX, mtw and SK. The winner should always advance, unless they clearly got some advantage of some illegal settings/cfg/whatever, in this case they didn't.

I'm agree with you but you have to consider that we have been forfeit more than 3 times even when the match was easy. I'm sad that it have to be against SK and they do deserve a slot but when you have been screwed by ESL rules so many times without having the chance to rematch (even when its just a wire issue and not a player fault) you don't want to let this happen without fighting ... I'm thinking of the 3/4 teams that have been disqualified of the qualifier and didn't have the chance to rematch bcause they are not SK. Plus, Delpan didn't have the good steam ID. I thought it was a big mistake but it's not and they can replay. I'm almost sure that if we had the samme issue it would not be a rematch. Diodel is unban in 10 days, and we asked to play the qualifier with him. He will be unban for the final and after 2 years I thought that a 10 days gift could be OK but again, esl rules are strict only when admins decides and they don't for teams like us. I never read in rules that a match is replayed only if it is the last match of the tournament ... We would have let the victory for SK if admins were sometimes clever with some specific issues (like a 30 bots cfg disqualifing teams) Anyway we will probably replay the match but I just want everybody to notice that such qualifier are just jokes, esl rules are just jokes and everything is even more a joke when you just have 1 admin to deal with everything. He just can't so he doesn't have time for "small" teams

Can you tell me where is the rule that allows default win for having more than 30 config files in your steam directory? ESL webpage says that the only valid rulebook is IEM's rulebook, which states as follows: Each player has to make sure to be within the above mentioned limitations and if Linesman is not able to work correctly because a player does not follow the above mentioned rules, then one of the parties involved in the match has to file a protest. No correct Linesman files may then lead to one (1) major penalty point being awarded and the opponent of the match may request a rematch. There is not a single word about default win, which means that if someone lost his match entirely due to too much cfg files then it means he got ****** by ESL admin. On the other hand I must admit that these qualifier were a joke. Player accused of cheating made it to the deciding stage. Ok, accusations might be wrong, but do you really think that anyone from ESL crew even watched his demo? No and still (after the cup) they don't seem to care. Most probably they will allow him to participate in the next stage of qual when the same story will take place. Yeah, but really, who cares about cheaters, when a well-known and LAN established CS player has too much config files in his folder! :-)
