TeG & Eq qualify for MSI BEAT IT

DreamHack Balkan took place this past weekend in Constanta, Romania and saw Earthquake and TeG qualify for MSI BEAT IT 2011.

Sixteen teams had made their way to the city of Constanta this weekend, with two spots for MSI BEAT IT 2011 being handed out on Sunday. Teams hailed from Serbia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as Romanian and would be fighting for two paid trips to DreamHack Winter 2011.

As the group stage concluded, HEADSHOTBG, es, TeG, neXtPlease!, RB, Saints, Earthquake and REVOLTE! made their way into the playoffs.

Some controversy did however take place in Group B, in the last round, when neXtPlease! took on addicted. Via an anonymous email sent to HLTV.org, it was explained how the scenario went down:

"So the match started and it was 14-5 for addicted one player disconnected and neXt! DORI invoked the rules so they can win by FORFAIT because he disconnected, which made no sense, but after 2 hours they announced that the game next vs addicted will be played again from 0-0, the game finished 15-15 this time.

So conform group rules they have more rounds then neXt! so they should have qualified, but PGL admin said NO THEY HAVE TO PLAY EXTRA ROUND BECOUSE OF TIE !!! WE ARE IN GROUPS ....they made them play extra rounds until neXt! won finally and beside this they told addicted they can't leave because they have information that someone will ddos FORTE GAMES if they lose."

The tournament continued, heavily delayed and as the spots for MSI BEAT IT 2011 were to be determined, it was down to a fight between TeG, Earthquake and RB. TeG advanced to the Grand Final, with a 2-0 win over Earthquake and secured one of the two spots.

RB and Earthquake met in the lower-bracket, playing one best of three to determine which of the two would go to DreamHack Winter. With a 2-1 victory, Earthquake qualified and would then face off against TeG in the Grand Final.

Earthquake continued their great results from the lower-bracket match, downing TeG 2-0 in the Grand Final.

DreamHack Balkan final standings

1. Romania Earthquake
2. Romania TeG
3. Serbia RB
4. Romania neXtPlease!
5-6. Bulgaria HEADSHOTBG
5-6. Romania es
7-8. Hungary REVOLTE
7-8. Bulgaria Saints

With the DreamHack Balkan concluded, following teams have so far qualified for MSI BEAT IT 2011:

Sweden SK Gaming Portugal k1ck France Electronic Sahara
United States Evil Geniuses Sweden fnatic Singapore CREWUNiTY
Denmark Anexis Sweden Lions Sweden ESC Gaming
Russia Moscow Five Romania TeG
Romania Earthquake

All of these teams will later this month travel to Jönköping, in order to compete in MSI BEAT IT 2011, which will take place at DreamHack Winter 2011.

yes they are! TeG is doing better lately now because SNAPPLE is back from Eq. Instead, Taofik(ex-TeG player) joined Eq and now the team is a powerhouse. I'm glad that two romanian teams qualified for DH Winter. TeG showed at LAN that they support Eq despite their rivalry. I'm sure this two teams will show some good stuff in Sweden. Addicted was LAN surprise tbh. GL TeG & Eq. //Lord SeDaN :DDD

RB placed third, I think it's pretty obvious that they were > HSBG and Next. HSBG lost in front of neXt also, they aren't anymore 'the best team in Balkans'. EU4IA and BGD Online left the tournament from the groupstages if I'm not mistaken, right?

they played extra rounds because it was neXt in the first place that went to addicted and said: if you want to rematch we can do it, the rules were clear do not disconnect from the server on purpose, or your team will lose. UNDEAD from addicted did this at the 14-5 score, just because his team mates were bullshitting him as he was in a bad day. He quit from server, and the rule was clear addicted had to lose by forfait, however neXt although initially accepted the win by forfait than they wanted to rematch, yes addicted needed only a tie, but since neXt were the ones to go to the admins and explain they will do a rematch, it was only fair to say that this rematch should have been played till one team wins, compensate the decision of next to not win a game by forfait. And you cannot say heavily delayed it was for about 3 -4 hours, there were tournaments that had larger delays than this one.

Don't know who you are BenDover, but thanks for posting and for your clear understanding of the issue. neXtPlease! Gaming's official (if you want) point of view is the same and any other words would be useless here. You just gave others the answer: quoting "[...]yes addicted needed only a tie, but since neXt were the ones to go to the admins and explain they will do a rematch, it was only fair to say that this rematch should have been played till one team wins, compensate the decision of next to not win a game by forfait.[...]". Nothing more than that!

Haha that sounds so freaking ridicilous. Seems like no matter how things ended up, nextplease was gonna move on. If you decide to do a rematch, you don't suddenly change the rules of how the groupstage is formed.

it was a conjuncture snappi, i mean it was clearly the fault of that UNDEAD kid, you have to understand he is 14 yo, he just got mad that his team mates were bullshitting him, he quit the game and addicted although they were so far ahead and so close to the finish were to lose the game, but next wanted to rematch, they wanted that, while addicted did not, because that kid refused to play or something like that. Regarding changing the rules, well if the admins accepted to do the rematch it was clear that this match will have to be played till one team wins even in the group stage, the stakes were high enough, as it was the game that decided the second team to advance. Sure the best thing to do from pgl's part in this situation was to give next the default win, as undead quit the game but....

Allright i don't know the exact situation, but if a player leaves the server, it's a pretty harsh rule just to grant forfeit in the first place. If he afterwards refused to play, and a standin wasn't allowed i see the situation. However if you the teams afterwards agree to play a rematch, i hope the terms in case of a draw were given beforehand. If not i stick to my first conclusion :D.

Bendover didn't explain the right situation pretty well, that kid "Undead" had some problems with his pc, he got that error "CL_FLUSHENTITYPACKET" or smth like that, he forgot about the rule that says that if you disconnect your team will loose 30-0 and he just disconnected, seconds after he tried to reconnect but neXt!DORI was already near his pc trying to do smth to win that match...

iNation < RB DooM < HSBG The only team from the above mentioned that could face TeG or Eq is Entity, but Entity had never proved in the past that it is capable to be no. 1 team in Balkans and I doubt it could be in the near feature. Imo Eq & TeG deserve to be there like Balkans representatives.

iNation are a pretty strong LAN team...though they're continously over run by BGD...ENTiTY is pretty strong at LAN, and they've been preparing a lot lately...but the truth is that by what TeG and Eq showed at DH they deserved those spots. Oh and I think that BGD is capable of a lot more

just to clarify things out, undead did not disconnect from the server because of us(his teammates bullshiting him ) he disconnected because he had a error at the top right of his screen "cl_flushetc" and he was stuck in the base with the bomb, all he did was disconnect and retry.

Quite expected. Romanians are the best in Balkans. Great play by RB! Well done boys!!! P.S. About neXtplease "case"...as snappi said, that's ridiculous. It's quite obvious that orga failed. "If a player leaves a server you get forfeit loss" or "if a player leaves a server you have to play rematch" are rules I've never heard before tbh :)

PGL it`s a shi..ty org , that rule sucks i played in this "PGL" for a long time and lots of bad things happend like team who are friends with admins and lot`s of bad stuff . The org PGL did everything they can so nextplease move on for the next stage , anyway TeG and Eq will gain 5 rounds toghether at this tournament and that`s it , they will be happy to visit the country =)) PGL it`s not a profesional organization. That`s why romanian will never have a top team like na`vi or Fx or other teams , cuz this competion PGL sucks big time , 1-2 years ago in this orga lots of teams played with cheats like wall and aim how can you call this org profesional ? How can you call this org prfesional when they do favors for the bigest team. Lots of bullshit is in this org crap .

Main sponsor for the LAN was ClickNet Romtelecom so they have some advertising in sprites. You should delete "ads"-folder from "sprites" so when you launch demmos, the game will download that sprites for you. If it doesn't work I will upload "rtl.spr"-file for you and you must to replace it. PM me

PGL shouldn't receive the license for what happend with "addicted". How can you play overtime in group stage(BIG FAIL)? Indeed, in LAN rules say they can change 'em depending of the case but when addicted's players went to organizers, because of agitation probably, they haven't caught any attention. What rule is this? if you disconnect from the server you get a forfeit, OMG! So if your CS crashes what to do? call 911 :) Anyway, you man aim hard!

PGL unprofessional? It might have been subjective and I believe all they wanted was that these two teams to play fair for their chance. You say that PGL favored neXt but is well known that Silviu (PGL's owner) isn't in quite good relation with the neXt manager.

TeG say "we don't have a sponsorship" and when they had , they lose all match's . At least if they had any win with ten rounds but from 6 matchs they lose with UNDER 10 ROUNDS WON... in all of them . Maybe Eq because Sedan is a high skilled player but with Taofik.. no chance . GL Eq !!!!

Every team goes wrong from the beginning even if they have a sponsor. How do you know how much Monster Energy help 'em? If the sponsor doesn't make much difference?! Interest is also low. This time it's a big difference: they don't go alone, they're going with Eq. They wouldn't feel alone! That feeling: "alone at the end of the world" will disappear. They will feel comfortable this time and make a nice figure though is very hard. It's like you wanna say that UE provides Romania for infrastructure development 50 billions and Romania want to have skyscrapers in half a year. LOL
