Delpan: "I was so unmotivated"
We got a hold of Marcus "Delpan" Larsson, the now former SK Gaming member, to have him comment on his exit from the Swedish team.
In a very unforeseen move, SK Gaming announced earlier today that Marcus "Delpan" Larsson had been released from the team, while they had picked up free agent Martin "trace" Heldt.
We sat down with Larsson to hear why he is no longer with SK and he revealed that not being motivated to play lately was the main factor.
"It all happened because I was so unmotivated and I didn't give the time and motivation for CS lately, that's the reason why I'm no longer in SK."
"I didn't feel it was fun playing lately and I got unmotivated so it's kind of hard to play when you're not motivated and not enjoying the game like I did in the summer."
After IEM6 Global Challenge Kiev, Larsson received critic from the community, following a poor individual performance at the event. Larsson explains that his low motivation came already before the preparations for Kiev, stating it was just "a matter of time", before actions would be made.
Looking back, Larsson's best tournament memory from his eight months in SK is DreamHack Summer, where the new lineup managed to win three separate tournaments. In terms of travels, Larsson will remember the trip the team made to New York in October for the IEM6 Global Challenge as his best memory.

Asked on his opinion about his replacement in SK, Larsson explained that Martin "trace" Heldt is a good player, but he is unsure how the move will work out.
"I have no idea how it will work out for them with trace, he is a good player for sure, so time will tell if it was worth it or not."
The trend as of late has been to create multi-nationality teams, Larsson isn't sure if there will be a potential language barrier between the four Swedes and the Dane.
"I guess they will try have trace around face since he understands Danish, I hope they work it out and bring the same results that I did."
About his future Larsson stated: "Relax for now, start working out and later get a job to make a living.". Quizzed whether we will see him join another team, he replied:
"I guess not, I'm okay with what I've done in the CS scene and I've reached my goals so I don't think I'll come back, but like I've said before, you can never say never. Also I'd like to thank all the fans out there."
Larsson joined SK Gaming in May 2011, following a controversial transfer from fnatic, where he was allegedly contracted to two teams at the same time with fnatic supposedly putting a $2,500 price tag on Larsson. At the end of the day Larsson ended up in SK's roster.

With SK Gaming, Larsson managed victories at the first event attended, sweeping three out of three tournaments in Jönköping when attending DreamHack Summer.
Since then he added more top placings in his resume by winning ICSC 8, GameGune, IEM6 Global Challenge New York and ESWC, as well as managing second place finishes at e-Stars Seoul, WCG and IEM6 Global Challenge Kiev.
