WinFakt wins FireCore 3

WinFakt has managed to win FireCore 3 tournament in London, United Kingdom after defeating cMar in the grand final on de_tuscan to win £1,100.

The tournament was held at London Trocadero with just WinFakt and Free Agents of notable teams in attendance as well as fourteen local teams who showed up for a shot at a piece of the prize purse.

WinFakt's route was fairly uneventful in day one as they topped group D with wins over MiLT, e-pigs and vROOM while only losing a handful of rounds. The bracket play was originally planned to be played in best-of-three mode, but the plan was canceled as delayes arised.

On the second day WinFakt beat playhacK 16-4 on de_train in the quarter finals and then faced e-pigs once again in the semi-finals on the same map they beat them earlier on, de_nuke.

The match ended up being very close as WinFakt won 16-14, but it was later found out that e-pigs had been ghosting throughout the match which was verified with admins and various members of spectating teams.

In the grand final WinFakt faced cMar, who surprisingly took down Free Agents in the other semi finals. The map was de_tuscan where WinFakt won their Counter-Terrorist side 12-3. Second half took a while longer to finish as the Finns went down 1-7, but eventually Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen's one-on-three situation converted for a 16-10 win.

WinFakt will next be seen in action at IEM6 World Championships where they will begin their campaign on Wednesday in group B against fnatic, Moscow Five, Lions, eSAHARA and semXorah.

MiLT took an age to set up then lost 16:01... The LAN centre was only open 12-18 on Sunday... BO1 was the only choice.

They said I ghosted but let's be honest they had people standing behind them most of the game. The day before we were 7 - 0 up with no ghosting. If we won some more rounds as CT we would have got an equally strong result.

True. You lot are capable of beating them, and even if you did or didnt see anything it did not affect the result. Best i can say is GL next time, WF is a strong team but these results for them were poor, dont think they will make it out the group for IEM, but at the same time Uk cs is getting abit stronger, hopefully bigger prizes in the future.

we already won, there is no point to complain about it... it's like when sfx's team with azn, irukandji, savior and icy cheated vs us (eg) with ghosting at arbalet dallas, we could complain about it but it won't change anything so why do it? we still advanced, all that matters (although in dallas we woulda gotten 2nd with same route if we beat them directly instead of rematch). we told admins at firecore when people told us, but i told them not to make a big deal out of it because nothing can come out of it

There was a crowd behind Winfakt so I doubt they could of seen much, especially towards the end when they were the only two still playing and everyone else at the LAN centre was speccing that particular match.

Hi guys, as the owner of FireCore LAN i'd like to personally appologise for not providing HLTV as originally planned due to issues we can't go into detail. We recorded as many HLTVs as pissible via the lansevers which we will get uploaded asap. The stream we tried to get up for final didnt go to plan as the internet was getting used by a lot of the public members of gamerbase. Well done blubs and Neil!!!!! I thought it was good for the event to have winfakt there. I know they won but it was like the 16-0 every team, I think its good the the UK to see teams getting some decent rounds against them, as we have no pro teams. The only real team there aswell (free agents) got knocked out before the final and every other team was just mix teams. If blubs and Neil keep the lans comming, (in London) then more decent teams will apear in the UK. Come back next time lurrpis and co. FYI I was the tall blonde guy from playhack
