WEM games still undecided

Contrary to earlier news post about WEM reportedly dropping Counter-Strike from its 2012 event, one of the main organizers has stepped in to give us an update on the situation.

Can Yang has been one of the people organizing WEG, e-Stars and WEM events and has been a part of each event. He has also managed the former WeMadeFOX team built around Keun-Chul "solo" Kang in the past.

WEM might still feature Counter-Strike 1.6 after all

After seeing the report on HLTV.org, he informed us that his company OGN still owns all rights to both World eSports Masters and e-Stars franchises and that the game titles to be played at both are still up in the air.

That means while we can't confirm Counter-Strike 1.6 would be featured at WEM 2012 or e-Stars 2012, at least a decision has not been made either way, therefore proving the earlier rumours wrong.

the organazation is not drop cs, they are dropping you who don't want to make change. though it's like a trick ,but we still see that cs:go is another game.pro gamers don't what it because they will loose their advantage.and other people who play 1.6 several years don't fit it well.so what will other people see us?the sponsers?those who want to put money in esports? come on guys,they are not drop 1.6,they just drop us.really

how about "no"? I played CS:GO after each update for at least 1h and every time I went straight back to 1.6. Why? Because it's pure bullshit and I never felt something like "fun" while playing it. I'm not afraid of change, but I will never play a game I just don't enjoy.

you don't enjoy doesn't means the new player won't.why we say that 1.6 dead? because 1.6 doesn't attract more new player than other fps games.If you are a gamer who never play cs before and you want to have fun play it,what will he choose? you might scream to him csgo bullshit 1.6 forever .will it work ?i don't think so. sponsor and organizers either. then they will just think: how about we drop them and build another classic game? that's what is happening

OK. Other fps games atractting more players but that wasn't enought to make it esport. "because 1.6 doesn't attract more new player" ROFL. Check the steam and game-monıtor records. We have more players than 2006.(Non-steam + steam)

I dont understand how you can drop cs? Cs is most popular,interesting and main thing skill game. You cannot compare cs with lol,css,csgo,dota because this game is unbeatable. For me cs will live forever.

I cant understand how is cs droping, its droping becues every cs hater is typeing "cs dies/cs rip or somthing else and we ho love cs4ever are afraid of cs that is going to die, But for me never, I will play alone cs 1.6 but will be stile alive to me. it would be a shame to change a game witch didn't show all what it got and replace it with other random game! yes i know, there are 11 years of play, but there are many new players and there's still motivation to play! hope wem won't drop cs, wcg did it, but it didn't just dropped cs, it dropped PC Gaming, so it isn't really that bad..

Dropping CS = a bad move. 50k people watching CS, ITS NOT DEAD. WCG is also making a HUGE mistake going mobile gaming. Mobile games aren't competitive at all. Who cares where the trend is going, mobile games are for leisure and fun purposes.
