VeryGames beat LD, move to the final

VeryGames have become the first side through to the DreamHack Winter final with a 2-0 victory over Lemondogs.

The match began on de_dust2_se, VeryGames' pick, and the French side took the lead early on, thanks to Nathan "NBK" Schmitt's four kills in the pistol round after a long push. The ESWC runners-up remained in the driving seat up until the sixth round, which Lemondogs won with a P250 rush onto bombsite B.

But Verygames did not feel any pressure, adding three more rounds to their tab to make it 8-1. The rest of the first half, however, was a very close affair, with rounds being exchanged between both teams as the French side had a 10-5 lead at the break.

The second half was a complete one-way street, with VeryGames clinching the six rounds they needed to walk out 16-5 victors as the teams switched to de_inferno_se.

On the second map, VeryGames came out the stronger, taking the first three rounds, and even though Lemondogs pulled one back right after, the Frenchmen still had the upper hand and eventually took the score to 9-1. Lemondogs then responded by winning two rounds in a row, but VeryGames kept their cool and went into the break with a comfortable 11-4 lead.

The former BuggIT team gave a great account of themselves in the early stages of the second half, storming to a 5-0 scoreline that reduced the deficit to just two rounds, but then VeryGames regained control of the game and never took their foot back off the gas, going on to win the map 16-9.
