Three solutions for Ninjas in Problems

Anyone will tell you that NiP are going through a slump with lackluster results online and a last place finish at Gfinity Spring Masters - and we're offering them solutions.

NiP are a dedicated bunch - they are not a team known to rush into roster changes, but as more and more time passes by without results, it is also something they will have to consider if things don't turn around.

For now, we are offering the Ninjas possible solutions to their problems in the order that we believe are most likely the team could actually follow and implement in reality.

In addition, these are all solutions that could, and possible should be, combined together in order to have the best possibility of succeeding. Only time will tell whether that will happen or not.

One thing is for sure - they've missed out on ESL ESEA Pro League's $500,000 Finals and will likely miss FACEIT Finals, and the team isn't what it used to be. Something has to give.

NiP's results have not been encouraging

Break from tournaments, practice and a bootcamp

NiP has attended six offline tournaments in fifteen weekends since Aleksi "allu" Jalli joined for ESL One Katowice. It may not sound like a lot - with more than half the weekends still free - but considering how often that means a five-day span when including travel, and how many online matches the Swedes have played, it means they have had an incredibly busy schedule this spring and early summer.

With ESL One Cologne coming up in late August and NiP already qualified, I think the recipe for success for the Ninjas, assuming everything else stays as is, is avoiding tournaments and online leagues at all costs until then. I would play out Gfinity, take two weeks completely off of Counter-Strike - as a team - and then give it everything I have for the five weeks leading up to the next major.

A break from Counter-Strike wouldn't mean forgetting about the game - in general, I find that often successful players visualize games and situations, and from my experience I can tell I have figured out many tactical issues my teams have had when doing things completely unrelated to the game, while allowing my mind to wander and think about them. That's the play here.

In addition, NiP has a full-time coach - Joona "natu" Leppänen - who would be expected to spend those two weeks analyzing every detail of the team's game, with input from other players, who should probably also watch some games - but not play - to come up with ways to do things better. A break should revitalize the team, and give them enough time to figure out their issues to implement in-game in five weeks of uninterrupted practice.

A break from CS:GO would give natu a chance to prove his worth

New coach, new play style, new NiP

I am still not sold on natu as NiP's coach - I think he would work wonders for a team who have issues with communication or team work, or who get into arguments during matches. But NiP doesn't - presumably - have any of those issues. In fact, I have always considered all of those things the strengths of NiP, while they clearly struggle in the tactical department.

The problem with NiP in my opinion is still the same it was when they added Mikail "Maikelele" Bill in the primary AWPer role - and this is something that I discussed in detail with Robin "Fifflaren" Johansson, who likely knows them better than any outsider, and fully agreed - they are super predictable. Every top team knows exactly how NiP plays, and what to expect against them. They play super basic Counter-Strike, but it no longer works.

NiP's problem is that they used to have two of the world's five best players and two other very good fraggers -- now they are stuck with one player who can play like a superstar on the right day, and another one who probably isn't currently even a star. In other words, there are now at least five, maybe ten, players I would pick up before anyone from NiP when building a team from scratch and ignoring communication and nationality issues.

What worked when being the most skilled does not work anymore, and since NiP are reluctant to make another roster move - and there aren't exactly any great candidates available anyway - they should instead add a tactics oriented coach. Björn "THREAT" Pers comes to mind, but it's unlikely he would want to commmit to the job full-time - yet even a two month stint in the summer could fix NiP for the foreseeable future.

NiP need to rebuild their play from scratch. They need someone like THREAT to bring in an outsider's perspective and help them see things in a different way. NiP still have - presumably - good communication and team work, and they have enough skill to compete for titles. The issue is that everyone else knows exactly how to counter them, which is why they must change their playing style.

Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund should stop calling as soon as possible - if he still does it - to focus solely on being the best player he can be, while Richard "Xizt" Landström should simply suck it up and pick up mid-round calling. But none of that changes the fact NiP have proven incapable of changing their style on their own, which is why they must add a new tactics oriented coach to do it for them.

Here's a chance for THREAT to win a major. He would have to dedicate the rest of the summer to Counter-Strike, but it would be an interesting challenge I could imagine him taking on. Otherwise, if I were NiP's management, I would consider overpaying for Fifflaren's services to get his input. No doubt he could at least, without a huge tactical background, point NiP to the right direction.

THREAT would be an ideal short-term coach to get NiP back on track

Get fresh blood to re-energize the team

This is the option NiP are definitely most reluctant to. They refused to let go of Fifflaren despite his issues costing them a number of titles - though it is possible he contributed in other ways - and there is no way they want to make changes any faster this time around. Looking at NiP's player ratings in 2015, they simply aren't what they used to be, and if they can't make up for lost skills in tactics, they must do it via individual skill.

Both GeT_RiGhT and Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg are still stars - the former can be a superstar still, but mostly isn't playing like one - but have both become inconsistent and can no longer be counted on to carry the Ninjas to podium finishes all year long. allu gets the job done, while Xizt has been average at best with his 1.01 rating, and Adam "friberg" Friberg has been a net-negative since the days of ESL One Cologne almost a year ago.

If NiP can add a coach who can lead them in-game, they should do that. If Xizt is open to still making the necessary mid-round calls a coach cannot contribute to, he should stay. Otherwise, I would even look into getting rid of him together with friberg, who I think without a doubt should be the first to go in a scenario where NiP decides to go for a roster change - his struggles have lasted too long now.

Possible recuits include the likes of former LGB talent Simon "twist" Eliasson - who I believe would be a good pick-up as a versatile player - or his former LGB teammate, Dennis "dennis" Edman, who was another solid all-around player who put up big numbers when LGB got their top placings. In other words, NiP could look into picking up a pair of former LGB players, fnatic-style, and hope they will bring them back to the top. I'd also consider ex-fnatic player Andreas "znajder" Lindberg.

twist could be the new blood NiP need

How would you fix NiP? Do you think it is still possible for them to get out of their slump and regain top form without any material changes? Leave a comment below and let us know.

Seriously though. These are some terrible ideas lurppis. you've acknowledged what everyone already knew, and offered nothing useful, other than insulting NiP more than necessary with the title of the article. THREAT has barely played this game, especially compared to natu. to think that he could have a better effect on the team than natu is to do so without any factual evidence to back it up. if it works, it's just luck. really risky. natu has played with allu, who nobody seems to want to see cut, so having him bridges the gaps between NiP and allu, as well as the language barrier, as natu's english is a lot better than allu's. Their problems really started with releasing Fifflaren. he was the alpha support player and teammate as far as CS:GO has ever known. he didn't frag the most, but they won a major with him, and made the finals to every other major while he was on the team. Let's not forget their undefeated run, and how many 1st place prizes they took home with ease for a LONG time. He was the smartest player on the team, understood the game the best, and they lost too much when he hung up his jersey. The only way that would have worked is if he [Fifflaren] became their coach. I'm not sure why he turned down that position, unless he was upset with getting removed. f0rest and GeT_RiGhT will always be the top 5 players in the world, but whether or not they're in the right groove to perform is the question. The only thing it can come down to at this point is their teammates. Fifflaren brought out the best in them. Xizt is less essential than Friberg, but Xizt is the best IGL they could have, so the question remains. who do they replace him with? If NEO and TaZ are still tearing up the best teams to the degree that they are, f0rest and GeT_RiGhT are going to be just fine. but yes, GeT_RiGhT should stop calling for them immediately. fnatic was able to hand pick each player in the assembly of their team. that's why they're so phenomenally good. they started with Epsilon, found their core in JW/flusha/Devilwalk, added the best swedish IGL available (pronax), and then found the best role player and frag monster available in the swedish scene (KRiMZ & olofm). Neither KRiMZ or olofm played as well before fnatic as they did once they got on fnatic. I think a lot of that has to do with pronax, and possibly more importantly, cArn. cArn predicted that the Epsilon lineup he signed (JW, flusha, Devilwalk, schneider, MODDII) would be the best in the world. He said it had to be an ALL-SWEDISH lineup. He made f0rest and GeT_RiGhT into stars, then they left fnatic, so he went and found new untapped stars. He's a genius, and i think NiP has a genius deficit on their side lately. i don't think allu belongs on them unless they become international. then they'll speak english and have their pick at any player in the world pretty much."

The actual 3 problems are- 1. People like lurppis/thorin who thinks if you are not winning each and every game, there must be a problem in the roster. 2. People who bet at golounge and loses their bet. 3. All the hltv kids who thinks aim is everything in cs. Remove this 3, problems in NIP will get reduced significantly. But sadly it is never going to happen.

2 sides to every story, you can argue lurrpis's points but you can't flat out say they are terrible. The only terrible thing is calling these ideas terrible. The insight on natu was interesting, though I do think natu is very capable of providing the tactical elements NiP may arguably be missing. Seeing xizt come back to the IGL role makes me wonder if NiP were just taking a semi-break. Taking things easy for a bit while leading up to bigger tournaments. If they perform badly at the next tournament and friberg is one of the bad performers, it will put genuine pressure on friberg. If nip perform badly at the next 2 majors, that is when management should be listening to the alarm bells and making changes. IMO natu 100% deserves at least 1 major to see if he can do the job as coach. Friberg deserves 1 more major. The rest of the team deserves 2 more majors before considering anything drastic.

Please don't compare NiP's 87-0 record to todays CSGO scene. NiP were one of the first teams to figured out how to play CSGO to their full potential. They've had less competition back then.

Like everyone knows NiP's problem is that they're so predictable, which is exactly what was wrong with natu's ingame leading as well - basic cs is what he knows best. THREAT could bring in some variability to NiP's arsenal in my opinion.

This was terrible. You can't claim Fifflaren knew the game better than other players, or that he played very well. There is absolutely no basis for that. He was a big net handicap in the end. They won those tournaments with him because at that time get_right, forest and friberg were a head above the rest. During most of those times, the only opposition they had were VeryGames. Since the rise of virtus pro, NiP were no longer a real top contender. Their last major victory had lucky brackets and needed so much NiP magic that it barely counts. Xizt was never a good IGL. Their game is so basic it's ridiculous. Tactically, they were always a tier2 team. He's like carn. It only works when you have the best players in the world. On the other hand THREAT is a goddamn genius mastermind. He was among the top 1.6 IGL comparable to guys like gob b and ave. He would be a perfect coach. lurppis solutions are good. Nip have to improve tactically and individually. This has to be done by bringing in new talent and reworking their game.

I think one thing that HLTV has succeeded in fucking up is NiP. I know it shouldn't have any effect in anyone ever, but if it wasn't for people I don't think Fifflaren would've left. I think they can be even better without him, but honestly Fifflaren could've been a coach to NiP. I think they offered him but he declined since wouldn't make sense they didn't offer him a spot. Allu in my opinion definitely belongs to NiP, if he chokes he can call in english and this is exactly what we've seen the former players do in their pov streams. He doesn't publicly speak swedish, but he definitely knows how to call in swedish he is just being shy. All finnish people have the roots for it and allu, isn't learning to speak swedish when they practise but the callout spots in swedish. 2 very different things.

Stop writing bullshit about lurppis, he has a point, something needs to be done on NiP, he is providing options, he knows what he is talking about, and mostly important: he is being completely impartial, because he is finnish and he is not choosing a side between the swedish group ( f0rest gtr friburger and xizt) and the finnish one ( allu and natu ), peace.

It's funny because you idiots don't appreciate anything allu does. He is, by far the most consistent AWPer right now. We know he's not the best, but he hits his shots most frequent. I believe the problem is their play style. FNATIC like to push things along, and have many fast plays in their arsenal, where nV like to jump through smokes and creates a different map with their grenades. NiP just plays the most simple out of the top tier teams, and they should be proud how successful they are doing that.

+1 This is by far the best comment in this thread. Lurppis just created another thread just copying other peoples thoughts. All 3 solutions are old and not gonna work. NiP needs TP change their playstyle. NiP are playing kind of a pugstyle strats right now. They play basic 1 lurking other side of the map and someone peeking and trying to get entry and after that rush to site or so quick rotation. Comoare that to Na'Vi, Fnatic or EnVy strats where they try to outplay and outsmart the enemy team by throwing fake smokes and changing tactics almost all the time. You almost never see 1 tactic used 5times per a match from Fnatic. They always mix those tactics and create new ones.

allu? Firberg is the problem. He's so bad these days. Since ESL Cologne, like Lurppiss said, he's been dog shit. Just watch a few games focusing on him. And look how NiP lose matches. It's down to him 70% of the time. He does these wierd pushes and thinks he'll outaim/outspray everyone, but then gets shit on cause this isn't 2013 anymore. If they cut Friberg, and bring in Dennis, they would be an insane team. Dennis is also a sick IGL, so him with xizt would be deadly. f0rest needs a break. I'm talking about a few months, not weeks. He's been playing CS for 10 years, ye he's still an absolute monster when it's his day, but he needs a really long break.

that's because navi has gotten to a final+won a LAN as of recent. NIP hasn't made it to a final in nearly 2 months. 2 top 4s isn't cutting it when they have the roster they do.

of course not. they consistently don't lose to t1, its like 50/50 when it comes to them showing up. unlike a team such as flipsid3, who can occasionally pull upsets out of their ass due to s1mple being incredibly talented, nip can put together results. just not when it counts.

the matches right now are not even counting. Sure they failed to qualify for cologne ESEA Tournament but there are too many officials right to say what team is the best. you will see they will practice their asses off until the major in Cologne and will be strong once again like every fucking time. Well, interesting is a misuse. Take a brief look at the other comments here, and tell me how this is interesting. His opinion on a subject everybody has a different view on, is literally worth nothing. He is literally acting like Thoorin right now.

Shall I take a brief look at other comments, shall I? To see a massive overflow of retards who can't read an article of someone simply because they do not enjoy his personality. And an opinion is always worth something, retard, especially when it's coming from people like Thooorin or Lurppis for the reason that they have countless years of experience of watching cs and in Lurppis's case, playong it. If you rate your opinion, coming from a 15 year old boy who is probably a gold nova and have been playing cs for 1 year higher than Lurppis, then just please, consider killing yourself

Try to keep a cleaner tone, and I might consider reading your rant. Yes, people hate him for his personality, and why would they not? Would you read an article about NiP by a person who murdered and raped your family? Why do you think people hate Fodder so much? Looking away from his attitude problems, he has time and time again messed up his "facts," making himself look like a complete ass, which is another reason to why this might also be a waste of reading time.

I never said that it was, dude, and I honestly do not think, there is anything wrong is him stating his opinion. I just find it odd that he had to post it here, on a news site about CS, when it's literally just an opinion. I mean; make a blog or something - why here?

Because he's a part of HLTV.org and puts in a lot of time and research in his work? He "gets to state his opinion" in article form because he's a writer, just like every other writer here is free to do, and it's, believe it or not, a pretty common form of writing. It's not like this is the first article we've ever put out, but if you haven't been around for a little while I can see why you're not used to it. You make it blatantly obvious that you simply disagree with his opinon(s) and dislike him based on his online persona. I mean, you went from "with all due respect" to "I hate him" in 20 minutes. Instead of posting shit like this, it'd be much more interesting to read why you disagree with the article. Shut up or put up.

You mean an editorial section - which HLTV.org lacks one. So we're forced to read every writer s' opinion as far as I'm concerned. We're not interested in any of that "HLTV.org part" he belongs to, either. btw: I'm not against tommy.. in fact, I agree with some points he drops in there - but please....

No one is forcing you to do anything. You're just as free to not read or disagree with someone's written piece as you are to just get up and never visit HLTV.org again. But apparently you represent some kind of majority since you're attempting to speak for more people than yourself. Articles have been posted like this for years. I'm sorry if you're new and not used to it, but that's how it's being done for now.

Apparently the words Op-ed are unknown to the hltv community. You might not care for his point of view, agree with it, or think it belongs here. On the first, if you don't care, don't read it. If it's the second, let's see what you have. Whats your perspective? Maybe a dialogue of sorts, you know? A conversation? If it's the third, here's what you can do instead of uselessly complaining like a bunch of ill tempered opinionated little be hotches. Start your own news source for the community. This way a bunch of shitty little 14 year old's can shit all of your efforts too!! Nice article btw, I really dig NIP and hope they come back harder than ever!

allu is performing shitty and you know it by just watching their games. his awp skills are nowhere close to any of the awpers of the other top teams. and the way nip use allu, he needs to hit more shots bcs thats his job. hes not a fiffy type awper or one that rifles a lot.

Lol, so he's performing shit because he's not hard-carrying them? He's getting 2nd most frags on the team and NiP's losses are still his fault and he shoot hit more shots? How about other players start hitting more shots?

ill give u an analogy. titan at that esea where iorek was standin for them. they were complete shitters. maniac was alright in some games, apex here and there and ex6 calling was kinda decent i guess. but in general, they were shit. all apart from kennyS, still best player in the tournament. now nip: sometimes this guy, sometimes that guy playing alright, and allu is just one of the sometimes guys. hes not the main problem, but hes part of the problem that is the lack of consistent firepower compared to other top teams.

If you check allus stats in lans you will see that he has performed consistent manner. No he isn't KennyS style hard carrying but he does put the numbers up as Friberg and f0rest are both on/off.

like i said, u have to actually watch the games, not only the stats to see that he whiffs a loooot and also is suuuuper slow compared to guardian and the likes.

no, i dont. but being fast unfortunately is what u need to be in awp duels as well as close combat battles. i can easily name 10 awpers i would rather pick for an awp battle against guardian than allu and the same goes for any close combat situation.

because nip is probably paying the biggest salary in CS. fnatic may be bigger org as whole but not in CS, especially not for swedes, for them NiP, forest and get_right are legendary and idols. and a lineup with forest,GT,krimz, olofm, xizt/allu would win the next major too and dominate the scene like fnatic is doing now.

We should think about their PCs. Its not the players, its the bad pcs. they play probably with 4 Quadcore 3 GHz Total perfomance = 3GHz/4 Cores = only 0.75GHz real performance their csgo must probably lag like shit with only 750MHz real cpu performance we should buy them some 1 core 2 ghz cpu cause with only one core the real performance is 2GHz much better performance from pc and players! ezy life, ezy nip, ezy money

Their solution is even easier... Play consistent. It's not just Pasha's or TaZ's problems, everyone on VP is inconsistent as fuck. If they played good on a regular basis, like fnatic or TSM recently, they would be on par with those two teams without problems, hell, they could even be above them.

I don't think really that they are so bad that they need to change tactic or players, Every team have a bad time but that doesn't mean that they should change players, coaches or style of play I think they will dig they way back to the "old NiP" just wait and see to next tournament.

I can't take a blog like this seriously when two out of three main suggestions is just changing people around, either the coach or the players. It's ridiculous. They don't have a bottle neck in their team like they had with fifflaren, they are all capable of being competitive with tier1 players (which they are). To suggest that they just need bigger superstar players isn't really helpful or insightful. and theres literally no up to par players available, I mean twist, is that it? come on changing the lineup at this point would only further delay their progress speed. They have what it takes to compete with the best all they need right now is to figure out how to utilize their abilities and to make them come to fruition effectively when playing other top teams.

I highly doubt you follow the csgo scene as much, friberg is playing solely as an entry fragger comparing him to part time entry fraggers is simply stupid. Other people who have been named "entryfraggers" have easier ct roles. You might have your own reasons for defending allu but why don't you compare him to other awpers? compare him to GuardiaN/JW/kennyS and ask NiP to replace him then.

Friberg is an entry fragger that struggles getting entries, vice versa he's just giving the opponents a man advantage more often than not. On CT side he struggles holding his positions, whether his role is easy or not, it's completely irrelevant if he doesn't get the job done.

How is he struggling to get entries if NiP are getting an average of 5-6 rounds on T side? What positions have friberg struggled to hold? may you point out one map that friberg got raped on a site? Was this just because i mentioned that allu should be replaced? Are you the type of person that thinks you are obliged to reply to anyone that criticizes someone from your country? If so, fuck off.

1) NiP are not getting their T rounds because of friberg's entries, most of the time it's allu that opens up the round with a frag. Also note that I'm specifically talking about NiP on LAN and against other top tier teams. 2) Inferno - Banana/B-site and Dust2 - A long comes to mind first. Extremely weak hold from Friberg in those positions for the last few months. 3) Not really a big fan of Allu, I'm one of those who would've loved to see maikelele stay on NiP. However Allu is getting good results on the team whether you like it or not.

1) Unless you can show me statistics on how many T rounds friberg died first without getting a kill you can't say that. 2) He is called the king of banana, and when he plays a long he has no support at all against well executed strats. friberg & fifflaren used to do all the dirty work so that f0rest & GeT_RiGhT could get clutches and stay late round.. now friberg has no support as ct/t he is forced to do everything alone If friberg leaves, NiP is a tier 2 team along with G2/mouz/NA teams.

because friberg plays the game in a very special way. allu is overrated, imo. Xizt lost his magic and his leading is out of date.

So about the whole NIP problem,, Seriously.. I don't think NiPs biggest problems are their players. The tactics they use are flawed, they don't use smokes enough when taking sites and they are really slow when entering..often letting the enemy team rotate before they've even got any players on site. If they just tighten everything they COULD become nr.1 again. Also it feels like they just lack playing-hours..unmotivated? Their arguably best performing player at the moment (xizt) had like 49hours played the past two weeks.. less than 4hours/day. That's not enough for a tier 1 player in my mind. Still.. I do think they should switch Allu for Twist. Anyway.. what the fuck do I know.

They just need to start playing more flexible, more "yolo" and they would probably start to win...They are stuck in some mindset which put on them alot of pressure f0rest needs freedom to do everything on his own, so as GTR, rest should hold their spots and have their basic roles as T and CT...They don't need to change players cause it's a gamble and could harm them also...Complicated tactics these days can be a problem also...We can see Titan as an example, who got 2 great players aPEX and kennyS but they're inconsistent so much cause I feel they're under the pressure of tactics, exact play in every round etc.

Good article. I think they definitely need a break. Get some sun and enjoy life. Come back more motivated. friberg needs to deathmach his heart out with the M4A1-S after the break. It's just so much better in almost every situation and if you're not fragging as it is the 10 extra bullets won't help you. allu needs to start holding other positions with the AWP on CT side. I feel like he is a great defensive awper and he could make much more impact if NiP practised some creative setups.

Jalli gets the job done, while Landström has been average at best with his 1.01 rating, and Adam "friberg" Friberg has been a net-negative since the days of ESL One Cologne almost a year ago. ayy about roster changes its repetitive hltv bullshit with problably already dead players. i doubt you know how high cs level is nowadays. twist ? when u saw him playing ? how do u know that over such period of time since his lgb time he would still be capable to perform at top level ? ayyy denis? aint he working in a bank and doesnt give a shit about csgo anymore? leave the guy alone ,lol. why u put him everywhere when its clearly he even wouldnt join. ayyy this + twist + denis shit is already bored

i told that friberg part for almost a year now, he CANNOT compete on the newer top level on a consistant basis, his skill ceiling isnt up to par. same goes for xizt even tho he could stay in the team if he contributes in other parts, such as calls, teamplay and team atmosphere. he would be a better "5th player" than friberg is at least. nip wont win any serious event with this 5 man lineup.

I think adding allu was a wrong idea - Maybe if he was as strong an AWP player as guardian, but i dont think he is at that level - And therefor i dont see any reason why a swedish player and fluent communication woulden't be a better choice. As for coach, i can only agree with Lurppis. Natu aint the right coach for a team as NiP - They need a creative type to help come up with new ideas for setups and strats. THREAT would also have been my choice without doubt, the perfect guy to fit that role if you ask me. Changing ingame leader wont do it for them either - There is a only one guy with the right mindset to that job in NiP, and that guy is ofcurse Xizt. GTR needs to do what he does best, and that is being GTR! you can't be the lurker and have overview of entire situation.. Not to mention the surplus of energy it takes. I dont think Natu is a bad coach or allu a bad player - I just think they would do better with a swedish coach and some swedish player.

HLTV (lurppis) confirmed. Anyway, in a scenario where only GTR and f0rest are left from the old NiP, I'm almost sure than both of them will crumble into the oblivion and the team will be a lot worst. I don't think any of them are in their heads as competitive as they used to be and if you break the team apart I don't see these guys playing CS much longer. Sadly, teams made up of good friends playings CS togheter for years will never seen again after NiP on the way competitive CS currently evolves. I don't know if that's a bad thing, but I'm gonna miss the NiP magic and a big piece of CS heart will die with them.

Lurppis went full retarded mode. How can u post something so subjective in the news tab, its fairly unproffessional. You can offer them solutions, but talking about changing players and naming them in HLTV news tab is totally retarded.

how so? they are professionals, so they have to cope with "public" criticism. u cannot just pick the positive sides of being a progamer. players in football or basketball get talked about all year if they will get transfered or sold, thats the business side. in relation to that, this article is nothing, the author just states the obvious solutions and its no secret that xizt and especially friberg are not made to compete on the toplevel anymore in 2015.

Its nonsense for you because you are just defending him. Naming people in news thread, saying that they should be kicked from a concrete team is pathetic. Im not saying that he's not (maybe) right, but the place for this context is in blogs section, not here. That's unproffessional

I'm defending the piece for what it is. You're obviously obsessed with who the writer is, not what is being written about. Even if you'd like to come across as just disagreeing with it, have you never read opinionated articles on e.g. sports or business websites? Football teams come to mind. Why should this be different?

I think lurppis definitely had his finnish bias towards allu showing in the article, which makes sense given that he was one of the ones lobbying for -allu +fifflaren back then. That whole wall of text and not one mention of how allu's presence could impede communication, labels him as 'getting the job done' when his overall performance has only been negligibly above Xizt's (not to mention one is an IGL, one is supposed to be a madfragger) and how NiP's gradual crumbling was exacerbated after allu's joining. Allu's a great player, but he shouldn't be on a Swedish team.

Solution 1: f0rest & dennis = madfraggers GTR - lurk Xizt = IGL and support (or -Xizt +twist) friberg = entryfragger (or -friberg +allu) Or, solution 2: f0rest, dennis, GTR, allu, Xizt Or, solution 3: disband!

If theyre all motivated to play with the current lineup. The first option looks like a good one. They might look into an option that allu would call. As far as I know he is pretty good at midround calling to begin with and they could rework the nip playstyle with natu. If the other guys would be ok with that. The other option would be to bring the LGB players in. But to replace who? Is f0rest still motivated enough to play and start from scratch with a new lineup. And they definently should get a caller, wasnt dennis a caller type of player in LGB? So he might be a good choice. And are they sticking with the sfinsglish communication? Would they bring a swede to replace allu? Would that mean -allu -f0rest +dennis +twist ? Or are they gonna stick with the dynamic duo GTR&f0rest and rework the team with them as the foundation. That leaves countless options on player changes. But in the end their biggest problem is their tactical approach to the game. Is natu enough to help them change that? Or do they need new player types in their lineup? Guess time will tell.

I certainly don't agree with changing up their roster. Teams has their up & downs and you can't always expect to win. NiP is still playing at a world class standard and by changing their gameplay and roster right now would only make things a lot worse. They need to continue working on what they currently have but one thing I should mention is that I really want them to take more risks in their gameplay. This may sound cliché but I think they should stand up for their name and become a lot more "Ninja".

lurrpis hopes for an all Finnish NiP line-up ? Kappa. Just joking. Srsly, i guess Nip know their own problems than anyone else, they just have no good options since " old 5 Nip players " always consider themselves a family. We all saw how hard they let fiffy go. Now, to let another guy from old 5 to leave ? I doubt it...

Lurrpis talking out of his ass yet again, but what else is new? First of all, it's pretty pretentious to claim to be able to solve NiP's problems when he doesn't even have any sort of insider contact with NiP's current lineup (and I mean in-game, closer than just knowing them). Second, yeah let's totally ignore the fact that before GeT_RiGhT calling he was basically at the best of his form and that f0rest literally carries the fuck out of NiP in majors and in important LANs, and that he also has committed the rest of his time to improving and practicing as confirmed by himself. And finally, let's kick a player with friberg's experience and commitment and dedication who was an absolute monster in his prime days at ESL Cologne and bring in players who have 0 experience with NiP, and who probably aren't fit for the role, otherwise they would be there already. Friberg has had issues, yes. But the second he comes out of this slump, which he will, they will be rocking again. Do not underestimate natu's experience as a player and what he's bringing to the team. Lurppis, you're a great guy with tons of knowledge about CS overall, but please, stop being such a cocky prick and claim that you know everything. You literally said a year ago that what NiP needed to become top 1 again was to kick fiflaren and bring allu in. It's done - has your prediction failed? Why are you still giving advice then? Shut up, please.

I didn't imply that the response had anything to do with lurppis. In fact quite the opposite: the audience, i.e the HLTV/CS:GO community as a whole, will take a dump on a piece like this regardless of the author. Thank you, by the way, for proving my point by insulting the writer and not explaining your reasoning.

I think they need to take a month long break, step back and look at things. I think some of their players should have a stint with some of the lower tier Swedish teams, in NA in some sports when a player is doing bad they send them to their farm team to help them regain confidence and consistency. If after a month and after they have tried to change doesnt work I think they need to add a new coach and a new player. I would go with dennis, if I not mistaken he was IGL for LGB and he knows the two best Swedish player at the moment very well (Krimz and Olof). He could bring some much needed freshness to this team that has grown stale.

Good article. A lot of nip fanboys seem to disagree with you like usual, but I think this text is very accurate. twist would be the best option for NiP in my opinion. He has sooo much talent and truly deserves a top team. I think that he has the potential to become one of the best players in the world, he only needs a better team (like Nip) than the one he's playing in atm.

After some time thinking, I, and only I, believe that the most viable option would be: - Friberg (even though he was a great entryfragger) + THREAT NIP Line Up. GeT_RiGhT (without comment) F0rest (too.. but 2nd awp) Allu (awp) Xizt (playing the role that makes Friberg, xizt has a very good aim !!) THREAT (in game leader.) Would a team like Fnatic.. with a igl which is often negative, but it is very solid, and with a igl that does not compromise, on the contrary, have a very good skill.

Solution 1: Vacation, the time away is needed for NIP. They been play non stop for a very long time. Time away from the game is needed. Visit family, friends, etc. The stress has been building for quite some time with the downfall of NIP. Solution 2: The team needs to sit down and go over all their matches together for the past year with naut +1. It's going to take time they need better decision making in game with a revamped play style. Naut isn't enough to make that happen. Solution 3 "final step": We all know Friberg has been sub par at best. Time to go over individual decision making/performance. Either change up a role or 2 to see if it better suits each other or figure out if another roster change is necessary. Once all this feels to be sorted out by all members. Time to practice and see if the end result is going to be a positive for the major that will be only a few weeks away.

-xzit -friberg +twist +dennis twist and dennis really do deserve to be on a good team but this will NEVER happen, NIP are too scared to make such a big move. If not THREAT as coach then maybe Devilwalk if they can convince him. But again NIP will never make such big changes for some reason and get to where they were so it really desont matter. -fox -skytten +twist +dennis on kinguin would be a way more fun roster change to watch imo.

problem with nip is all their players are passive. they need to get a player or two who have aggressive nature. just look at jw and olofm, envyus in general, snax, karrigan and dupreeh etc.

When they picked up maikelele i said they should have gone for twist instead. Sick rifler and solid awper aswell and when they picked up Allu later I lost hope. Agree with all points btw.

Welcome back lurppis, missed these kinds of posts. I agree with most of the stuff, but not with the -Xizt cause I still think he's actually doing well enough and when others aren't playing well, he's there.

-allu, he's the main reason of all the struggle. 1. Allu was brought in to be a dedicated awp player. By now it is clear that he is miles away from top awp players in the world (Guardian, JW, kenny, s1mple). Shiiit, to me f0rest looks better with awp tbh, and Happy, and Karrigan etc. For a team of NIP caliber - it is not acceptable imo. 2. It sounds crazy but it is not his poor/average awp play that is the main problem. The main problem is that he CAN NOT play with rifles. When NIP can not afford AWp and allu picks up a rifle it's 4.5x5. He's no near any other tier 1 team player as far as rifling goes. To be honest, any guy from gplay or gamers2 can play better with rifles. 3. Solution? I realize there's no free top class awp players available in Sweden which could easily go against top teams. All NIP have to do is to replace allu with a solid Swedish rifler and just base their game on rifles. If anything - f0rest can awp if really required and he proved to be really good at it even against top teams. Adding twist or dennis (preferably) instead of allu would make them so much better. Even schneider would do I guess.

And still top players rate allu 5/6 awps in CS:GO..? hltv logic... + Allu tops many games for Nip. How is that Allu's fault that Friberg fails on other side of the map?

GTR:stfu lurpiss. and i would quite agree don't need either coach or roster changes, natu is already a good coach tactical wise as well and the 5 players can bring top A game, they just need a break to reset and re-arrenge everything.

So many people want to kick allu despite the fact that he is the only player putting up numbers in important matches on lan. Lurppis right, if nip is going to kick someone it should be friberg

very bad opinions allu > schneider = twist Nip need the top young player, not just the good player. Nip need the fresh blood like simple/flamie these young boys. There would have a reason that why fnatic kicked schneider.

Okay people, I've had enough of your crap.. Just look at things from Lurppis's perspective, he used to be a pro player and he's done plenty of casting/analyzing than you, ever. He is right to be honest, I didn't want to admit it but he is. NiP has been in a huge slump for a while now. And don't even get me started on Friberg. I know you love him, but just stop sugarcoating his performance since it has been absurdly bad. Either he really starts performing or leaves the team. /rant

Xizt should be the ingame caller so gr can focus on the game. Friberg and Xizt should not be kicked either, it will just take longer the get everything sorted out, and these "Basic CS:GO Tactics". They probably have a new playstyle but doesn't want to show it before the Major in Germany. So they should keep the lineup they have but get Pita or even HeatoN as a coach. And don't take Andreas "schneider" Lindberg to the team, ew. Everyone has their opinion, this is mine.

I think NiP are just done with getting dominated. People need to stop saying they need a roster change. Navi took out one person did bad for over 4-5 months, and then with NO roster change win 2 majors. They just need time to work on some strats get some beer have a toss you know then get back into the game.

Imagine the following scenarios: Coach: THREAT Line-up: f0rest GeT_RiGhT Xizt Twist Friberg (if he steps up his game) OR f0rest GeT_RiGhT Xizt Twist dennis Both would be pretty much unstoppable after some practice.
