TSM announce new lineup

North American organisation Team SoloMid have announced a new lineup which comprises disparate elements of various North American teams.

A new announcement by North American organisation Team SoloMid has disclosed the formation and signing of a Canadian-American roster comprising players who had recently departed various organisations in the scene.

Per the organisation's own words, the roster is "based around 2 experienced players with multiple majors under their belt surrounded by 3 up and coming talents."

The experienced players are likely taken to mean Kory "⁠SEMPHIS⁠" Friesen, who has been a part of premier North American lineups that attended past majors such as compLexity (in 2013) and Cloud 9 (2014), as well as Pujan "⁠FNS⁠" Mehta who was previously of the stable CLG lineup in 2015.

SEMPHIS and two old coL teammates are now a part of TSM

The young talent includes Timothy "⁠autimatic⁠" Ta, who played alongside SEMPHIS in coL before the two left the roster together, and two former hotshots of Denial, Hunter "⁠SicK⁠" Mims and Daniel "⁠vice⁠" Kim.

SicK was also being tried out for compLexity following two of his current TSM teammates' departures, but the player ultimately was not signed and left the squad (his departure, in addition to that of other tryout Ronnie "⁠ryx⁠" Bylicki, forced compLexity to withdraw from the MLG Americas Minor last weekend).

Finally, TSM have brought on board Soham "⁠valens⁠" Chowdhury, who retired in late 2015 but will now be a full-time coach for the team.

The organisation are also on the lookout for dedicated analysts and a manager for the team and mention the team moving into a gaming house in the near future.

The VAC is not shit, the recent VAC waves were thanks to the system. And KQLY as far as my knowledge goes was banned due to using cheats in mm after supposedly trying them out for the guy who made them. ESEA servers are VAC secured and they also have their very own anti-cheat system which makes 'leaking the footage to Valve' complete fucking nonsense. hltv.org/forum/683074-kqly-interview Before using KQLY's as an argument against the VAC system ever again you might wanna read this. I'm not saying that the VAC system is 100% effective but it's definitely doing its job really well. And it's also being backed up by Overwatch. I haven't seen a cheater on overwatch in like ages which to me this is a clear indication that the VAC system has been improved.

It's not doing its job well. People have been doing statistics and shit where they looked up all the players they had been playing with for the past games, can't remember the numbers but there was over 1000 players in it and in 1/3 games you're bound to have a cheater in your MM game. They watched later if the player either got OW or VAC ban, and 1/3 had. This was pretty recent. Do you really believe kqly would say "yes i cheated on LAN"? He would ofc try cheat one week just because he heard about the cheat. To risk his whole career for testing a cheat. 10/10 logic. It was also Emilios dog that cheated on his computer. And no ESEA got the cheat someway and is the only reason KQLY got banned. even faceits anti cheat is better than VAC. Yes both of the clients use VAC servers, but they got their own anticheat running too on the servers. which is both better than VACs attempt for an anti cheat. Faceit anticheat is server side and could easily be added to all CS servers. AFAIK it is only prevents wallhacks by not sending data about players who aren't visible to you, so the game client (and cheats) don't know about anyone you can't see. There are plugins that let you put this son your own server, but I don't think Valve will add it because it can cause players to warp around corners, like in this video: youtube.com/watch?v=PuZvaFXSzhw

I don't know what Valve did for the anti wallhack update. My guess is that it prevented wallhacks from being able to see people across the map for example, but I don't think Valve made it as aggressive as Faceit's, or people would be complaining about popping around corners. It's not possible to prevent all hacks. I could put a camera in front of my monitor that detects players and sets mouse input to my PC over USB (triggerbot). There isn't really any way to prevent that, but walllhacks can be stopped by not sending data about non-visible players. Currently this does not make sense in CS:GO because you would have to remove footstep noises.
