naSu joins ENCE

ENCE have announced that Niko "naSu" Kovanen has joined their team on a try-out basis.

The 25-year-old, who has played for some of the most successful Finnish Counter-Strike teams, both in 1.6 and in CS:GO, will continue representing ENCE after acting as a stand-in at the European Minor Championship, last weekend, due to Tom "⁠stonde⁠" Glad's health issues.

In Tours, ENCE finished in fourth place following defeats against dignitas and HellRaisers in the knockout stages. Despite failing to secure a spot at the offline qualifier for ESL One Cologne, the team "felt a significant boost in chemistry" with Niko "⁠naSu⁠" Kovanen on the roster.


naSu to lead ENCE's roster 

The former WinFakt and ROCCAT member will take up the ingame leader role, allowing Aleksi "⁠allu⁠" Jalli to focus on the AWP moving forward.

"I really missed the competition and I am thrilled about the opportunity to represent ENCE again," Kovanen told ENCE's website.

"This time around I will be acting as the in-game leader for the first time. I do not think ENCE lacked any firepower, but proper execution and me being the only Finn left who has ever played under proper leadership I know what it takes, so I am confident you're going to see a whole different ENCE soon."

Making way for naSu to join the team is stonde, who will be released from his contract at the end of the month. ENCE stressed that the decision was not based on individual performances but on the belief that it will benefit the squad by allowing the players to maximise their potential.

xarte didn't frag when sunny was calling, he didn't frag when natu was calling in 3dmax, he didn't frag when lurppis was calling for them as a coach IGL, why would he start fragging now? xarte and juho are the only players in the team with a sub 1.0 LAN rating in 2016. To make it worse, they're both around 0.8. Stats don't mean everything, of course, but this lineup change barely affects Juho's and Xarte's play. It only affects Allu, who is their best player even when rifling, and stonde who was their second best player until sunny started stepping up. Unless all these years nasu happened to be a godtier IGL who can find a way to make Juho and xarte play better, I don't know how this is going to change anything for the better. you have good points. the difference between juho and xarte is that juho can perform great, but he hasn't done that on lan. but he will, i hope. xarte doesn't have that potential. stonde was very inconsistent. he could win rounds that were basically lost, but mostly he would miss easy shots and make dumb decisions.

TBH xartE brings ENCE power in LAN-matches... As you may know he is one experienced player so just making things up just because you go with the flow and h8 xarte is just sad.. Juho is a talented player, but he still needs a hell of a lot experience to power himself up more consistently. Stonde was a player who couldnt rifle, only AWP. And knowing Allu is a good awper -> removing stonde is the right call at this hour.

Juhos lows are lower and highs are higher than xartes , tho Juho still can develop as a player and has more potential than xarte.Before this move I always thought ence should remove stonde while everybody was complaining about xarte even tho he never was the MAIN problem , yeah I've seen xarte frag worse than usual oftenly , but I have seen Juho tilt and have 0.3 k/d ratio half as many games and I've seen stonde miss shots consitantly that Xarte could hit consitantly.

Ok, I don't get this. Nasu joins as an IGL, fine, he ain't the best rifler but fine. But why on earth would they sack Stonde?!? I guess the only reason is that Allu really wanted to AWP and not rifle, so Stonde had to go. For the team it would have been better to get rid of Xarte (as no need for IGL now), keep allu as a rifler / secondary AWP and keep Stonde as a main AWP. They would have had a really strong 2 AWP set up, and better riflers than now, as Allu is better than Nasu or Xarte.

Allu is a great rifler also. He could be a solid rifler and pick up the AWP when team needs for two. Now they have Xarte and Nasu, who are both mediocre riflers. I'm quite sure this is just a power play from Allu, to be the main AWP again. He has strike me as a person who doesn't really play well with others. Not in a toxic way as s1mple, but more for a selfish player.

Honestly I feel this move was needed, I don't think they had suitable person for IGL role, stonde had some mad skillz but especially on lan seemed to be too uneven, allu is definitely more solid overall awp so maybe better have him rather than hope things start to work out, also allu's impact on riffle wasn't as good as they had hoped probably which also affected to this move...

I think this is great change to their lineup. Stonde wasn't reliable enough with the awp and allu couldn't quite be the star player that he was in NIP while being a rifler. I don't know if nasu is a good IGL or not, but he has played with natu and lurppis who are both good IGLs so he might have picked something up.
