karrigan likely ruled out of ELEAGUE

Finn "karrigan" Andersen will likely not be able to attend the entirity of ELEAGUE's Group C, kicking off on Tuesday, due to his ESTA application being denied.

Astralis are set to travel to Atlanta for ELEAGUE's Group C, which is starting in two days, although they might come one man short.

According to Finn "karrigan" Andersen's Tweet, his ESTA application, a system that permits citizens of 38 countries under the Visa Waiver Program to travel to the United States, was denied.

karrigan's ESTA application denied

Due to a recent change of conditions needed to meet in order for the application to be approved, karrigan cannot travel to the United States without a proper visa as he has traveled to Iran (under fnatic) in the past five years.

As he only has under two days to apply for a visa, it's highly likely he will not be able to travel to the United States in time for the kick-off of Group C, where Astralis is set to meet NRG in the first match at 18:00 on Tuesday, June 7th.

ELEAGUE's official rulebook states that teams are obliged to submit a five-man roster plus two substitutes and are allowed to substitute a player twice per season.

I don't support Trump or Hillary I am just hoping Bernie comes through with some miracle win last second. But seriously when U.S tried to make a democracy in Iran you made them pull out saying you wouldn't be U.S ally anymore because Britain wouldn't be making 90% of the money off oil.

Well when ppl disagree with what you say but don't have any counter arguments, they'll just insult what they can see about you, and cos we are on HLTV, they can only see your country and team you like so they insult u based on that, at least that's what I think

not saying that, i'm saying that if u support this, then yes, its like hitler and germany but anyways, where i live there's no violence at all, but everyone thinks about rio and there has a lot, but brazil isnt just 1 city. Also, u can see that the brazilian government doesnt kill someone just because they're from another country or this type of thing, the population that do this and nobody support this

ok it felt like that was the implication and sry if it wasnt. and yeah i feel your pain with that. People from small countries seem to have a hard time grasping how different it can be from different places in bigger countries. In smaller countries you are able to stereotype people as a whole within the country (still dumb but at least a little effective) but in bigger countries like the US and Brazil it can literally be like being in a different country by visiting different areas. In a bigger country no area, or people can fall under one stereotype or another. It is just too drastically different from place to place. But i can see how tahts hard for people who have never really left their small countries way of life to understand.

It's not weird, the process with ESTA is a bit random, you are very unlikely to enter the US if you've been to Iran but it's not 100% so I guess it went ok for them. Two of my friend went together in Holidays to Iran and decided to visit Boston only for two days, one got refused his ESTA while the other got approuved

yeah fuck the mullahs iranians themselves hate them. I'm not muslim and neither is any of my family (in the us). the difference between my family in Iran and USA is drastically different. some ppl are legit brainwashed by the evil fkin mullahs that the west is devil, religion is the only answer, etc. My family in Germany and swedistan are much more secular than those in iran. muslims are alright iranians are alright usa and all europe is alright its the fkin mullah goat fuckers in charge of the government that ruin the rep of iranians.

Bummer. In US as you probably figure we only get news stories of mullahs calling America the "Great Satan" and what not because it's kinda shocking. Glad to hear that though, changes my view a lot :) Governments tend to be worse than their actual citizens most of the time it seems, including the US. Have a good one. Side Note: I don't have anything against most muslims, but wahhabism seems to be... not too good :/ But from what I hear that's all coming mostly from Saudi Arabia :P

Gla1ve must be the best replacement. I mean, they are already using him for the major, so they are practicing with him a bit, and in the other way this is good practice for the major. Besides, he plays for CPHW, which isn't that important. Besides, he is IGL, and with zonic calling main strats as he is knows how to use the players best, then Gla1ve could mix it up a bit, also making it difficult for enemies to read them.

There should be someone in charge to make logical decisions. They should look at the reason why he was in Iran and the fact that he was in the US just earlier this year, fucking stupid. For those that don't know he was in Iran for some PR thing for fnatic with Friis and MODDII. I wonder if these applications are even looked at by real people or just put through a program to check of tick boxes.

How's that racist? This has nothing to do with racism. Iran is a terrorist nation that is known for supporting terrorist organizations like Al-Qaeda and Hezbollah. Iran also tried to acquire a nuclear weapon but USA along with nations like Germany,UK and Russia stopped Iran from developing one.

If someone told you a Danish citizen visited Iran, you would ask yourself "Why the fuck would he do that?" This is exactly what USA is doing as well. It is more than a legitimate question to raise as there's literally no reason for an ordinary Danish citizen to visit Iran. Obviously we know that he's not a threat, but USA can't know this. For all they know, all this "pro gaming" stuff could be just a cover up story. Also, it's not like Karrigan is banned from visiting USA. He just has to apply for a normal VISA.

Pro gaming is not some fucking underground ring. It's well-broadcast to millions of people every single day, easily viewable to every single American on the internet. I know you're just a person suffering from the mental disease that has crippled mankind for a while, which is patriotism, but literally nobody cares for your flimsy defense of your country's retarded excuses. It's (I reckon) a government institution that handles these applications, and these applications are important to the players, since this is their career. The least they can do is google "karrigan" or "finn andersen" or something of the like, and read one or two pages of his history, and the reason he went to Iran, instead of just putting an automatic "denied" stamp on every fucking European who has gone to Iran for some reason, who otherwise has NO ties to Iran. But no, yeah, guys, let's just completely exclude Iran, let's demonize them and vilify them, and even if any person so much as comes NEAR Iran, let's deny them entry into our country to come and play a videogame in a heavily broadcast tournament with thousands of people constantly monitoring him. This kind of hugely xenophobic dickhead-ish attitude is totally what is gonna solve all this conflict the world has with the Middle East, and make normal people living in Iran (and the other countries nearby) like our countries so much! Yeaaah, no, fuck yourself. This attitude is inexcusable, and lazy, and even though the U.S. government is notoriously ass backwards and lazy and absolute in issues dealing with ANY shade other than black and white, this kind of shit is retarded even for them.

Holy fuck you're stupid. Pro gaming has absolutely 0 reputation in the world as a credible sport or a profession. Only the past year, it has started to gain attention from the mainstream media. Telling someone you went to Iran to play video games, sounds suspicious as fuck to anyone that has no clue what pro gaming actually is. This is what i can tell you, most of the regular people don't even know up to this day that you can have a successful career as a pro gamer or that it's even a viable career option.

I'm stupid, because you don't think your country's entire government and government institutions can use the internet? Haha, sure bud, keep sipping the Kool-Aid; that's all your tiny peanut brain can do, instead of managing any logical thought. If you really feel like you've got the upper hand in this argument by claiming "my entire country is run by the biggest retards to ever be put into positions of power", then I bow down to you. Oh, wait, no, you're a retarded sycophantic apologist. My point is not that e-sports is on the caliber of actual sports, and I do not give a single iota of a fuck what "reputation" it has to those same idiots that I'm disapproving of. The argument against "the U.S. government is retarded" is not "the U.S. government is retarded in terms of how they view these specific things". I literally do not care what "reputation" your country - filled from one side to the other with mentally ill people (like you) with their absolutely bone-headed beliefs - has towards e-sports. What I care about is the fact that they deny visas to somebody for their career because of a general "attitude" towards something, instead of uhh, I don't know, fucking CHECKING for EMPIRICAL evidence? My bad, you're too retarded to know what "empirical evidence" is; you think it's justified to treat everyone using some preconceived biases. Also, you didn't address any other point that I made, besides "e-sports doesn't have a reputation in my country so we can continue to demonize regular europeans who've been to iran lel xDDDDD ecks dee", so I'm inclined to let you do that before I continue wasting my brain cells with your brand of narrow-sighted ignorance and retardation.

If you want to be taken serious you should cut down on the insults. It is pretty obvious that you do not know anything about the ESTA program. The ESTA program stands for Electronic System for Travel Authorization. You have already exposed your ignorance by writing that you assume people are in charge of handling the applications - this i not the case hence the name. The ESTA-program is a "shot-cut" visa program for certain countries making the it easier to obtain a VISA for the US online. The alternative to ESTA is going through normal visa-procedure. Karrigan would most likely be admitted through normal VISA-procedure as it is handled by embassy workers in the respective country. Karrigan/Astralis is solely to blaim here as it is common knowledge, that the VISA program do not apply for people having visited Iran, Iraq etc. during the last 5 years. This is pretty common in western countries due the rising threat of fundamentalists getting trained in some countries commit terror attacks. If you find this wrong - you are most likely the retarded one. You might think this is stupid - i do not - but i do think you are stupid for being a dick online without having the slightest idea of what you are talking about. Go educate yourself instead of being a dick :)

I have no problem with an apologist like you not taking me seriously. Literally do not care even a TINY bit, and thus, I will continue to insult people. They're free to do so back at me; I don't place unnecessary stigma on aggression. So, let me try to understand your point here. You're saying that the ESTA system denies everyone who has been to, what, nigh every Middle-Eastern country at any point a travel authorization? And you think that my contention that this system is ridiculously primitive and useless in almost every way because it penalizes you for harmless career-related trips due to the fact that "the most productive country in the world" can't put people with brains to checking the applications is somehow unjustified? And you think this blanket system that penalizes people based on easily-explained publicized trips is somehow defensible? Hahahahahahaha, I'm sorry, but...I understand you saying that the application system is electronic and automated, but everything about that system itself is...simply put, stupid. But uhh, sure, dude. Keep on thinking that the U.S. having automated systems that penalize completely innocent people (Europeans, I might add) just for associating in ANY way with a whole big country full of innocent people just because terrorist groups happen to be from there brings America any sort of positive reputation or benefit in international relations. Like I said to Raptoor: keep sipping the Kool-Aid, bro. ;)

You should grow up and learn to communicate - to anyone with a little brain you are making an absolute fool of yourself due to the way you talk to people. I get it... you don't care. Well someday, if you wanna go somewhere in life - you might. Take it or leave it. I am only trying to give you a heads up :). Your intire rant that begins with “ESTA system denies everyone who has been to, what, every Middle-Eastern country at any point a travel authorization?” makes no sense at all. First of all I have never said anything about all Middle East countries but from certain countries yes. Makes sense as you want to focus your energy on being extra thorough where there might be reason to. If someone has been to Syria during the past 5 years - they should not be admitted through ESTA. Simple stuff and easy to understand. Chances are a tiny percentage went to fight for ISIS. On the other hand if you went to do business in Damascus or whatever, provide documentation for it and apply through normal visa. I do not see the problem here. Better safe than sorry. This is not about sipping the cool-aid. I work for the danish district attorney and right now there is an ongoing trial against a returning ISIS-fighter. It is all too real i am afraid. The ESTA system does not at all penalize anyhing. You are again talking about something you know very little of. Makes you look... well stupid? to put in your own words. A final suggestion: how about you educate yourself on the ESTA-system instead of assuming things that are not real. I know you are probably too lazy but hey - it might be good for you to evolve beyond that. Here is an actual reason to do so.

Why would one visit Iran? If one is a student of world history and religion there are plenty of reasons to visit Iran. I don't know what burgers know but Zoroastran religion started in Iran (before Islam). Zoroastrian religion greatly influenced judaism and Christianity. First dualistic religion with 7 angels; concept of heaven and hell... They are shia and they have great respect for their ancestors. Unlike sunni IS who destroy all great shrines in Irak. I would like to visit Persepolis. Now you're gonna make joke about my nickname it started because I go yolo in bombsite B and plant the bomb solo.

How is that not racist? They are essentially saying that anyone who is in any way affiliated to anyone Iranian, is a terrorist or a threat. Just because a minority of a population is affiliated to terrorism, does not mean that the entire freaking country, and anyone who travels there, is. Next, we will have America ban anyone from entering USA if they have been to Holland or Belgium in the last five years. It is exactly due to such regulations and reactions that we have extremism in the first place. WE (in large part due to USA´s reaction in general) created extremism, whether we like it or not.

USA isn't implying all Iranian people are terrorists. But WHAT WE KNOW, IS THAT the chance of someone becoming a terrorist by visiting Iran IS MUCH HIGHER, compared to other countries around the world. IF you wanted to become a terrorist, Iran is on your top3 list of places to visit. This has nothing to do with the color of the people living there, or their race. Paying extra attention to people visiting a country like Iran is really fucking logical.

EXTRA ATTENTION, which they DIDN'T pay, you fucking mentally ill fuckhead. They denied an ESTA visa to a person who has an EXTREMELY PUBLIC CAREER, and who went to Iran for an EXTREMELY PUBLIC REASON. They can CHECK exactly WHY Karrigan went to Iran. This isn't some guy who was found to have gone to Iran, alone, for reasons unknown. They can CHECK why he went there, you absolute fucking braindead retard. And yes, I am actually mad, because I know there's millions of fucking inbred sycophantic fucktards like you strewn all over a country whose culture I like, and that makes me feel conflicted and, in turn, pissed off.

Right, where is that data? Please point me in the direction of the data (from a credible source!) that clearly indicates that people who visit Iran over for instance Germany, is more likely to become a terrorist. So far, all I hear and have heard is a lot of assumptions, nothing more. Which is the EXACT same as racism.

No, in no way do most people (had to change all people to most people due to the illy uninformed) think that all iranians are a threat, the visa policy is a safety net designed to catch all threats, but if you want to make an omelet you have to crack a few eggs. The way we do it, its guranteed to catch people who are not threats, and I think thats why you see he ended up getting a visa.

If atom bombs had not been dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the americans would have had to lead a sea to ground assault much like D-Day, where casualities were estimated upwards of a million. The bombs dropping avoided this incredibly bloody conflict and killed less than the amount that would have died had the war continued.

Our country and most countries are doing the exact same thing. If you travel to certain countries you will be checked thoroughly. It seems no one on this board know the slightest about the ESTA-program. If you have been to countries such as Iran, Iraq etc. you cannot use the ESTA program. You have to apply through the US embassy like 85% of the world. This is common knowledge. If you are a progamer and travels the world - you get your VISA's sorted out. Common fucking sense. Please go educate yourself.

My point still stands, just because it is policy does NOT mean that we cannot question it nor try to affect change. If we never did, we would never further ourselves. I really do not give a flying duck about your wise-ass attitude, when all you can do is repeat knowledge you read, without applying your own logic to it. That does not make you smart, it just makes you a parrot. Go get recognition somewhere else.

Same can be said about KSA, they obviously fund al qaida and judging by the classified 9/11 investigation part about KSA it's pretty safe to say they played a part in 9/11. The US has no problem being an ally with them though, also a terrorist state. It's more of a geo-political conflict.

Anyone who uses an argument such as "please tell me the sole nation who actually used a nuke." Is a braindead, no knowledge of history keyboard warrior. Firstly, many countries such as Russia and China (possibly the UK) have test fired nuclear weapons. Also, the bombs dropped upon Hiroshima and Nagasaki prevented a much, much more bloody conflict.

anybody who attacks by using ad hominems can't be too smart either. the end justifies the means. nice philosophy there. i partially agree with the tactic but if you do such things don't pretend to be a white knight and iran is a bad nation. no you're a killer nation prepared to go to extreme lengths to 'prevent more bloodshed'. I wouldn't judge you for doing what you did if you just admit that there are no 'good' nations out there. just slightly worse nations and a lot of propaganda. destroy japan their harbour and airports. what can they do that's so bloody? I understand USA targeted weapon factories. can't you do that with normal targeted bombs? like long ranged missiles fired from the mainland. in my mind it was just a testing nuke to see what actually happens when u use it on a city. you're argument of test firing is not relevant...

that's flawed. why would USA want to invade japan?? just destroy their airports and harbours and they can't do shit.. issue economic embargo and their economy is destroyed. it just feels like you USA wants to kill a bug for fun ://. if they didn't have nukes and their primary weapon silos are destroyed they can defend themselves only in guerilla warfare. who cares if they don't want to surrender when they can't do shit anymore?

"Why would USA want to invade japan?" Well you see, there was this thing called World War Two, the japanese attacked this place in the state of Hawaii called Pearl Harbor, and they continued to attack any US prescence in the Pacific. "just destroy their airports and harbours and they can't do shit.. issue economic embargo and their economy is destroyed." en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hiroo_Onoda The japanese are not the types of people to give up easily.

if you want to discuss with me pls give arguments. you quote me and give a link. i know the japanese don't give up easy. but if their weaponry is destroyed via air missiles and they can't trade with the rest of the world sooner or later they will surrender of give up their dream of economical power. don't compare pre-world war japan to post-world war japan. japan could do surprise attack on USA only because USA didn't expect it. if USA and russia dominate the japanese sea and control their airspace they are trapped until they stop the fighting. at that point the war is over with japan. they are defeated but not humbled. i guess USA wanted to go the extra mile and give a message like 'dont fuck with me i'll destroy u'. in nooo way china would ever have a military alliance with japan. korea and japan together? can't do shit. i don't defend japanese they were scumbags but at least they attacked soldiers.

Maybe you should just be an army general if youre so smart, maybe there is a reason that Operation Downfall was proposed the way it was. Firstly, the japanese had an incredibly strong air force, making control of the airspace not an easy task. The rest of your post isnt readable, just a bunch of run-ons. Lastly, my style of debate largely depends on counter arguements, meaning that I tend to quote and give reasons as to why one is incorrect. I tend to link, because I trust fact more than word of mouth.

The first Intercontinental Ballistic Missile was not operational until 1958, Japan surrendered in 1945. Meaning destroying their weaponry with missiles was near impossible at the time. Which means air units would have to destroy their weaponry and weaken them, but the Japanese air force was too strong for that, so a ground invasion combined with naval and air attacks was really the only way to defeat Japan until the atom bomb came along.

That's not a UK team (Its second and third best players are but still not a full UK team or even top 1 in the UK scene).... Orgles5 is tho, But then again Sponsored US players which get paid to play the game need to beat a unsponsored team which has to work while playing, Just so you can beat an EU team. Fuck NA CS has FalleN quite far hasn't it....

Yes they could and? Over half of Orgle5s roster has been off the game for 1-3 years and they all work while playing? If that's an achievement for one of the biggest teams in NA then HOLY shit man.... I just feel sorry for you guys needing to beat a newly formed ESEA premium team like Damn. NA CS really needs a win don't it ;) Because we all know it won't be against the brazilians.

-they didnt applied in time, organizers fault mostly, and because they had to get a new passport delaying them -Bosnian customs fault, still didnt understood why this happen, probably some mistake by the organizers also -well this event was in India... and everyone knows how it went, and tyloo werent the only ones with problems, for example Fox from Russia also couldnt get a visa -Indeed a problem, maybe because of spain relations with Morocoo, where they still keep two cities under their rule -probably some bad organization, dunno, but ok this one was a problem -"The Chinese team had been announced as TyLoo's replacement after the Asia Minor champions decided to skip the event in order to be able to apply for visas to enter the United States, where they will be competing in ELEAGUE at the end of the month." -"It certainly came as a blow that WorldEdit's visa was not processed in time by the embassy for us to play with our full roster," FlipSid3 Tactics Dana Kawar told HLTV.org." -one more problem with russia... so i still see America as one of the nations that causes most problems... but ofc we see many visa problems with eastern european nations, its sad this things happen.

Well its a rule that won't change. You don't go to a country without knowing rules to get into said country. It's just shocking that these high level teams who have people booking the flights for these events are stupid enough to not know the documents needed for a person to get into the country.

Not really retarded. The way they look at it is a random person from Denmark traveled to Iran and is now traveling to the usa. If you travel to a terrorist state you have to go through an extra step to come into the usa.

I'm pretty sure they are doing both. By making it harder to travel to the middle east and back to the USA it provides an extra barrier of protection from a person involved in terrorism enters the USA. Its unfortunate that it effects people like this, but it is necessary to not let dangerous people into your country. Look at all the refugees that are all over Europe right now. How much has the Crime rates risen in the last 6 months due to all the countries just letting them in? I'm sure they aren't all bad, but there are some that injure, rape, and murder people.

I'd say it's more likely I turn into a terrorist after visiting USA. Never forget that your country is the reason these problems arise. You just had to make a shithole a bigger shithole... as always. Believing someone visiting Iran for a couple of days makes you into a potential terrorist, you're paranoid. Better put on your tin foil hat, I visited Sweden last week for a couple of hours, I might've become a muslim.

That is what the government thinks. So if you want to visit the USA then you have to jump through the hoops to come here. Its not like I make the rules, and If I did I would have to have a lot more knowledge on the subject to make the decision.

But you do understand, that when you legislate you do it on a broad pallet - right? It is a pretty logical rule - if you have been to a place where one country is in war, generally considered and enemy etc. is it not only fair to be extra thorough? I agree that Karrigan did not go there to train in an ISIS-training camp - but an objective rule pulls him out of the ESTA programme pool. He can apply for a normal VISA like 85% of the worlds population does. It is his responsibilty and his alone - that he did not do it in time. This is common knowledge people. The alternative is, that the ESTA-programme no longer exists and everybody has to apply for VISAS. Would you find this better? Russia does this - if you wanna go there you have to apply through their embassy in Denmark (if you are a dane). It take more time and is more invasive as you have to give more information. Do not blame the US when they already are pretty progressive in their immigration legislation. Understand the rules instead. Please. Most western countries - with good reason - are extra careful with people traveling to war-torn/terrorist nesting areas. It is not you or any other people in here with internet-knowledge to figure out which countries are safe and not. Leave that to the respective countries intelligence. If you cannot accept their terms - stay the fuck away. Please stop this nonsense.

I really cannot see why he should be treated different than anyone else. It was communicated out world wide for a long time ago - anybody that can read should know about this.

Stop acting like you know the details :) There can be a million reasons to why that is - and it is pointless to debate it here. The fact is, the rules that Karrigan are dealing with was communicated to the whole long before the rules when into action - he/his organisation has failed to take action. There is not really much more to say. This situation could have been avoided with people doing their jobs.

You do not understand the logic of the legislation. Your own government is even doing the same - if you have undocumented travels to war-torn countries you do not get the luxury of an ESTA-permission. It is not equal with now being able to enter the US just because you went to i.e Iran. You just have to apply for a normal VISA and be able to give probable cause to why you went to Iran. This is actually good legislation as you divide your resources to people where there might be reasons to be extra thorough.

i guess so, but on the other hand your visa system/rules are a complete mess! with a million rules which is impossible for some to even get, like tyloo, they did apply for visas in time but still got denied, as long as your rules are as strict as they are esports events should be held elsewhere. i speak from experience too because i have had the O-1 visa twice and it required so much work and planing to get.

This! I cannot understand why so many people in here is having so many difficulties accepting this. Getting into fort-europa is equally as demanding as getting in to the US - if not more. Rule of thumb: stay away from war-torn middle eastern countries, read up on current legislation and plan ahead. It is not a mystery why most bigger companies have departments dealing with this matter solely. The world being the violent place it is - it is unfortunately nesesarry to be extra careful around some areas. This might be discriminating in regard to nationality but last time i checked international agreements this does not fall under the term "racism".

From my own experience (1 year in the US), the majority of their middle class population gets brainwashed since day one, their birth. The average american might have a comparable IQ in the fields of sciences etc, but their intellect is clearly not comparable to that of a independent thinking, educated european. Their country is still decent, but on a downwards trend in my opinion. To the context of the particular problem of karrigan: I think it's really stupid. Think about how often karrigan played in the US after his visit to Iran in 2012. He travelled to the US for the major two days before the rule came in. Now they don't let him, a normal Danish citizen, in, because he was there 4 years ago. How is one trip to Iran enough to warrant a visa denial? Especially 4 years ago, with no supsicious actions of karrigan after his stay there.

> "From my own experience (1 year in the US), the majority of their middle class population gets brainwashed since day one, their birth." When I visited Boston as an exchange student I got the impression that, yes they are brainwashed but only to the same extend that we (Europeans) are. "The average american might have a comparable IQ in the fields of sciences etc, but their intellect is clearly not comparable to that of a independent thinking, educated european." Well the "average European" is not, I repeat not independent thinking. Imho you are comparing an average American with an above average/ intelligent European. "Their country is still decent, but on a downwards trend in my opinion." Which Western nation isn't in a downwards trend nowadays. "How is one trip to Iran enough to warrant a visa denial?" Apparently it is in the US and to be honest it should be the same here in GER.

That's true, most of the younger people here are brainwashed as well :/ "Well the "average European" is not, I repeat not independent thinking. Imho you are comparing an average American with an above average/ intelligent European." Probably yes. "Apparently it is in the US and to be honest it should be the same here in GER." So you think Germany shouldn't let karrigan in, despite him being a Danish citizen?

For the Karrigan case... I don't really know because on the one hand a law similar to the one in the US would make sense but 4 years on the other hand is a long time.

This is really stupid, how many times has Karrigan gone to play in the United States since he went to Iran ? Probably like over 12 times. And now they don't accept him. Just goes to show Americans doing the visas clearly don't know jack shit, or some particular individual was clueless enough to feel like one trip to Iran is enough to warrant a visa denial. I know people that have been to Iran and who aren't muslim, they all told me it's as beautiful and friendly as a country gets. I also saw one dude who did a little documentary by himself touring Iran on a shitty motorcycle, he's australian. Never had a single problem the whole way for months. A lot of places in the US probably more dangerous than Iran tbh.

Why are these pros never prepared when they know they have to travel to another country? I have had to go to other countries for vacation 7 times already and I have yet to be denied. Pros should know not to procrastinate with their Visa so when it gets denied, they can get an appeal. These people do it last minute so they don't have enough time when the unthinkable happens. Edit: Also if people get denied, its not permanent and they tell you anyways what to do to get your application accepted.

Applying for the visa 2 days b4 the tournament kicks off is certainly not the best idea, no matter where the tournament is held. It's probably not even a big deal to settle the issues, it just takes a bit of time. His own fault applying for visa that late. Stop blaming US for their rules lol.

Yea US is really protective for no reason, He has been here for gaming before, that should show in his records. This is why we need White house approval on esports as an actual sport.

I don't understand why a person who is traveling to a different country multiple times per month wouldn't apply for a visa. Just because you've been to Iran doesn't mean you're not allowed to go to the US. Iranian immigrants do it all the time.

Typical USA, valve pls stop overhyping this shitty country when they can't even make a tournament without problems. "He was in Iran so he can't fly to USA (he was there ~~12times but still DENIED)" <- i laughed hard. Just make events in Europe where people don't have problems with visas - Europe is a Tyloo friendly country :')

As a non-english native speaker, I feel somewhat entitled to correct when a english speaker messes up his sentence in ways which is more than spelling errors. You make a mistake which is becoming more common for each day that passes. "Should of" is incorrect. You need to use "should have" or "should've". Have a splendid mate!

So stupid. The fact you post that stupid shit about him traveling to iran. So he cant travel to the USA. There are Thousands of people EVERY DAY that travel from Iran to NA. This lazy individual and organization will blame the rules. The rules that are laid out YEARS and sometimes DECADES in advance. This is what I get for logging on to a site populated by and employing children.

Brazilians asking why are they having tournaments in the USA.... Well this happens when we try and give Brazil something nice.... espn.go.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/1479.. "Some families in Rio have flat-screen TVs but have to rig their own septic systems." Your country is third world. No matter how many TVs you buy. You can take the monkey from the jungle. But you cant take the jungle from the monkey.

Karrigan is the ultimate sleeper cell. All he does is playing CS:GO. And then 10 years later...still a sleeper cell, 60 years later...still sleeping.

Really too bad :( If he can't get there in time I wonder who the fifth will be. Also makes Group C a hell of a lot more interesting if the 5th is a manger or some shitter.

He gets a 10 year visa expedited by the US in time to show up for the second day. It's amazing to read all the comments above by people who don't have anything constructive to say. They just want another reason to complain about the US.
