Selfless win WESG Americas

Selfless won the WESG Americas Finals after beating subtLe 2-1 in the grand final (16-19 on Dust2, 16-5 on Mirage and 16-6 on Train).

Ten teams from all across the Americas convened at Mega Arena, in São Paulo, for the region's WESG finals, with $75,000 and six spots at the global finals up for grabs.

One of the biggest upsets of the event came in the form of the group stage exit of Argentina, who had finished runners-up at TWC, with just one victory from three matches. Brazilian side g3x, featuring former Luminosity member Broken tag, also missed out on a spot in the playoffs following a three-way tie with Quetzal and Force of Nature.

The grand final ended up being a North American clash between the subtLe and Selfless, who had topped their respective groups with a perfect 4-0 record.

Selfless win WESG event

The Canadian team, led by veteran Broken tag took the lead in the series with an overtime win on Dust2, but Selfless were simply far too strong on Mirage and Train, completing the reverse sweep while conceding just 11 rounds across the final two maps.

*steel was carried in two majors, that's what you should have said. g3x is top 1 Brazil and still can't hanlde a tier 3 NA team, they also got raped by mexico nonamers in the international scene where the only 3 rounds they scored were the first pistol and the following two anti-ecos, not winning a single gun round, nor any other round in the other half. It is also worth mentioning that when Luminosity dropped steel and boltz they became a tier 2 team and started winning or come close to winning tournments

ok Steel- international player, played two majors and several other championships around Europe/NA B1t- played in MIBR (but probably should not have experience) (sarcasm) KNG- New fallen by Brazilians.... others 2 , good talents in BR scene you can say that other teams was amateur, but that is not for g3x

I agree. G3x had all the experience required to win and more. They underestimated the international scene as a whole.

I was being sarcastic when saying they are amateurs, most of the teams are professionals and receive money to play, but understand that so far g3x have proven they can't handle tier 3/4 international teams, they are only good in Brazil, nothing more than that.

It's truly impressive how far Ocean led his team through this tournament. He could very well be the greatest coach NA, or CSGO in general, has ever seen.

How do they manage to get $75k for a tournament like this? I realize that they expected a better team turnout, but did they not realize all the scheduling conflicts?
