Jumpy to play for fnatic in ELEAGUE

fnatic have announced that head coach Jimmy "Jumpy" Berndtsson will play for the team in the ELEAGUE group stage.

The 29-year-old will step into the shoes of Dennis "⁠dennis⁠" Edman, who is unable to play in this stage of the $1.4 million league due to personal reasons, as announced last month, when the team re-signed Freddy "⁠KRIMZ⁠" Johansson from GODSENT.

Jimmy "⁠Jumpy⁠" Berndtsson, who played for teams like Begrip and Meet Your Makers in 1.6, joined fnatic as head coach in August, replacing Viktor "⁠vuggo⁠" Jendeby, who transitioned to a managerial role within the organisation.

Jumpy will play for fnatic in Atlanta

With Jumpy on board, fnatic have finished 5th-6th at ESL One New York and EPICENTER. Since returning from Moscow, fnatic have picked up KRiMZ and Joakim "⁠disco doplan⁠" Gidetun as replacements for Jonas "⁠Lekr0⁠" Olofsson and John "⁠wenton⁠" Eriksson as they look to return to the top of the pile.

"As we had mentioned earlier, Dennis will not be able to attend the first phase of ELEAGUE for the same reasons behind our drop out from the ESL Pro League finals," Jendeby told fnatic's website.

"This time however, we had more time to look into a temporary replacement. After some discussion we came to the conclusion that Jumpy would be the best fit; with relatively short time we value his leadership and tactical mind above any 30-dropping talent out there as we truly have enough firepower already."

fnatic will take on EnVyUs, dignitas and OpTic Gaming in Group D of ELEAGUE Season 2, which will begin on November 18. The Swedish team will field the following lineup:

Maybe, but G2 always suck on majors and FaZe on LAN is just shit lol, the first time they got out of a groupstage this year was ELEAGUE S2 if I'm not mistaken. NiP has been in tough groups these past few tournaments, EPICENTER, ESL Pro League S4 finals, ELEAGUE S2.

I don't agree, I think they can do perfectly fine with dennis as an igl as long as the players play to their potential. but dennis doesn't want to igl for some reason so i'm not sure atm how it will go. If disco doplan doesn't step up though I think it could be a good move, but fnatic doesn't seem to be the team to build into some strategic and tactical system
