Team list for IEM Katowice finalized

The European and North American qualifiers for IEM Katowice have been brought to an end, with Natus Vincere, Heroic and Immortals securing the final three spots.

IEM Katowice 2017 will be held on March 1-5 in Poland, featuring 12 teams and a $250,000 prize pool.

The first team to qualify for IEM Katowice on the second day of the qualifier was Natus Vincere, who easily defeated HEROIC in the upper bracket semi-final 2-0 (16-9 Mirage, 16-4 Nuke).

Na`Vi will be attending IEM Katowice.

The Danish team, who continued to use Casper "⁠cadiaN⁠" Møller as a stand-in for their removed AWPer Michael "⁠Friis⁠" Jørgensen, then made a run through the lower bracket defeating MOUZ 2-1 and G2 2-0 to grab the final European slot for IEM Katowice 2017.

In North America, Immortals and Liquid played the grand final of their region's qualifier, with the Brazilian team having an advantage of one BO3 due to coming from the upper bracket. The advantage was unnecesarry, though, as Lincoln "⁠fnx⁠" Lau had a great series, helping his team secure the qualification for Katowice.

I'm laughing so hard when I see all the people spiting on G2. Yes they are a superteam and yes they didnt qualify. So what ? Rome didnt get built in one day. I will always remember Katowice as a great beginning for BR teams. On the 2015 major, Keyd went to the playoffs. In 2016 TempoStorm, on their first big lan, managed to advance to playoffs too, on 2nd place, their group was stacked with, Astralis, Virtus.pro, EnVy, FaZe and e-frag. LG would eventually lose the grand finals to Na'Vi. This year's list as strong as in 2016. G2 would make it stronger than Heroic, on theory, but their level is not high enough yet.

Oh, I'm not upset at how things turned out. A win is a win, no matter how close it is. I'm actually disappointed in G2 losing to Heroic. Congratulations to Heroic for making it, but they most likely will not make it far at Katowice. If only G2 were able to beat them though, if only...lol. The best event, the best teams. Sad that IEM isn't major anymore, but maybe there is hope to another major in Poland. Spodek Katowice isn't the only one arena which can be the CS:GO event. We have Tauron Arena and many others aswell. Let's hope that majors comeback to Poland someday.

Sad to see Heroic there. Was watching a lot of matches. The only literally skilled guys on Heroic are valde, MODDI and niko. Snappi and cadiaN are rats. Low-skilled silvers afraid of aim fights and awp fights. Literally seen very few moments, when Snappi won fair aim duel or cadiaN won fair awp duel. Snappi was just bottom fragging, he was able to kill someone only, when that someone was flashed. And cadiaN? That rat was so afraid of stronger AWPs he had to wallbang everytime he could. These two players are just joke.
